Abstract: An attachment system for an orthopedic brace incorporates at least one cinching system assembly having a knob rotatable in a first direction and a second direction. At least one cinching plate is engaged by the knob for rotation in the first direction in a first orientation and transitions to a second orientation upon rotation in the second direction. A ratchet wheel is engaged by the cinching plate in the first orientation for rotation in the first direction. At least one ratchet arm engages the ratchet wheel for ratcheting operation and is engaged by the cinching plate in the second orientation for disengagement from the ratchet arm. A shaft is rotated in response to rotation of the ratchet wheel and a strap is extendible from and retractable on the shaft upon rotation of the shaft.

Abstract: A mechanical connector configured to releasably engage a stud is disclosed. The mechanical connector includes a housing having a central opening configured to receive the stud, first and second clamps housed in the housing, first and second biasing members coupled to the first and second clamps, and first and second separators coupled to the housing. The first and second clamps each include a pair of arcuate arms. The first and second clamps are configured to move between an engaged position and a disengaged position. The first and second biasing members are configured to bias the first and second clamps into the engaged position. The first and second separators are configured to move between an extended position in which the first and second clamps are in the engaged position and a depressed position in which the first and second clamps are in the disengaged position.

Abstract: A buckle assembly includes at least one socket to receive and retain at least one lug therein, and an emergency release arrangement. The emergency release arrangement is operable to release the at least one lug from the socket in response to a predetermined trigger signal. The assembly also includes a manually operable resetting arrangement that is operable to retain the lug(s) re-inserted into the socket(s), following the triggering of the emergency release arrangement.

Abstract: A respiratory mask assembly for delivering breathable gas to a patient includes a frame having a main body and a side frame member provided on each lateral side of the main body. The main body provides an orifice therethrough for the introduction of breathable gas into a nasal breathing cavity and a collar that substantially surrounds the orifice. At least one of the side frame members includes an integrally formed locking clip receiver assembly. The frame is formed by molding such that mold components of a mold can be withdrawn along a single plane to separate the mold from the collar and the locking clip receiver assembly.

Abstract: Belt buckle for releasable connection of a belt to another belt or object. The belt buckle has a male buckle part with a plug-in extension and a female buckle part with a receptacle, and a locking device. The plug-in extension of the male buckle part is insertable into the receptacle of the female buckle part and the buckle parts are lockable to each other in a locking state by the locking device. In the locking state, the buckle parts are arrangeable relative to each other in a neutral position, in which the locking device can be brought into an unlocking position to separate the buckle parts. The buckle parts are additionally arrangeable relative to each other in a blocking position, pivoted in relation to the neutral position, in which the locking device is blocked in a locking position to prevent the buckle parts from being separated from each other.

Abstract: A foldable attachment clip assembly including a receiving body portion having a hollow interior and a slotted opening extending along the length which receives and retains a crossbar of a stirrup connection portion. The crossbar of the stirrup connection portion is adapted for press-fit insertion through the relatively narrow width slotted opening which opens into a wider diameter retention pocket at the interior of the receiving body portion. Following attachment, the receiving body portion and the stirrup connection portion can rotate relative to one another about an axis defined generally by the crossbar within the retention pocket. Upon application of a tensioning force, the clip is substantially straightened and the receiving body pulls tight against the crossbar in a secure relation.

Abstract: A clip device for releasably securing objects together is provided. The clip device comprises a clip body with a first slot formed in the clip body and a second slot formed in the clip body substantially parallel to the first slot. A cross member divides the first slot from the second slot. A faceplate substantially parallel to the cross member is formed in the clip body with the faceplate having a substantially planar front face surface and a rear face surface. A finger extends from the front face surface with the finger curling back toward the front face surface. An opening is formed through the faceplate wherein upon positioning of the front face surfaces of two adjacent clip bodies together, the finger is releasably receivable within the opening formed in the front faceplate.

Abstract: The invention herein relates to an adjustable dual straps structure allowing the user to comfortably back-carry a golf bag and mainly consists of two shoulder straps and two support straps. One end of the shoulder straps being buckled together while the other ends thereof are respectively tied to a golf bag. The buckled end of both shoulder straps holds a male buckle, while the buckled end of both support straps holds a female buckle. Each male buckle being fastened to corresponding female buckle, meanwhile both female buckles are fastened on each other. When carrying the golf bag, the user can adjust this angle according to his preference, turning both shoulder straps until they reach the angle where the golf bag can be most comfortably carried.

Abstract: A substantially noiseless fastening system for a carrying pack includes a flap attached to the shell of the carrying pack along one edge of the flap, a fastener button attached to the flap near a second edge of the flap, and a button receiver attached to the shell. The button receiver has a tapered interference fit slot terminating in a notch for receiving the fastener button, the slot narrowing towards the edge of the flap attached to the shell. The fastening system also includes a pouch attached to the shell, a locking channel attached to the pouch, and a locking groove attached to the shell. The pouch has an edge that forms an opening between the pouch and the shell, and the locking channel engages the locking groove in an interference fit to close the opening.

Abstract: A label which can be attached to a commercial article for the emission of an alarm signal, includes a body of the label containing a device which can be perceived by suitable detection equipment for emission of an alarm signal, a band for attachment to the article for connecting the body of the label to the article, and a structure for restraining the band and the body of the label firmly one to the other. The label body includes a housing suitable for being entered by the band. The band has an end band section and an intermediate section which oppose each other and are compressed one in relation to the other in the housing. The band has, along at least part of one longitudinal face, securing teeth so that the portions of securing teeth on the parts of the band in contact in the housing are compressed against each other in such a way as to block relative sliding of the portions of the band in the housing during an attempt to disengage the article from the band.

Abstract: A cord is formed into a loop with a metal clip, and is knotted about a rigid ear which protrudes from the body of a conventional whistle. A plastic tube is slipped over the knotted lanyard at the whistle ear and heat-shrunk in place, to cause the whistle to protrude from the lanyard on a generally rigid stem. When the lanyard is slipped onto the glove of the wearer, the protruding stem causes the whistle to extend outwardly from the glove and hence presents the mouthpiece of the whistle for ready grasping by the wearer's lips for rapid actuation of the whistle. Alternatively, the whistle is engaged to a hook-and-loop fastener flexible strap by a rigid clip, which extends through a fold in the strap. The connection between the clip and the fastener limits side to side twisting of the whistle, allowing ready blowing by the wearer.

Abstract: A socket retainer and utility belt for using same to allow maintenance or construction personnel to quickly identify and gain access to a particularly sized socket. The present invention provides a socket retainer, preferably adapted to be worn on a utility belt, wherein a plurality of socket retainers are strung from the utility belt, with each socket retainer being adapted to hold a particular socket. Each socket retainer includes a mechanism for retaining a socket thereon, and a mechanism for releasing a socket therefrom when it is so desired by the worker. As opposed to prior art systems, the present system increases the efficiency of the worker in that less time is required for searching for the socket of interest.

Abstract: A holding device comprises a clip, and a flexible cord. The cord is looped upon itself and its ends are received in a trough on a stem of the clip. The trough has laterally spaced tabs which are crimped over the ends of the cord to secure the cord to the clip. A metal tube is crimped over the trough and the cord ends, and shrink tubing is fitted over the metal tube.

Abstract: A laundry holder having a length of nylon webbing, with its ends joined with a side release buckle fastener. A sock snare, comprising a loop of nylon cording, is secured to the nylon webbing in depending relation thereto. The nylon cording is threaded through a releasable cordlock fastener. The cordlock fastener is used to adjust the size of the sock snare loop.

Abstract: A bottled drink carrier apparatus is provided for supporting a bottle containing a drink product at a position upon a user's neck or shoulder. The apparatus includes a strap assembly forming a loop having upper and lower end portions, a cable having ends that are attached to the lower portion of the strap assembly. The cable forms a closed noose with a slide below the strap. A slide is provided for tightening the noose about a bottle to be supported, the slide fictionally engaging the cable at least in the locking position.

Abstract: A bottled drink carrier apparatus is provided for supporting a bottle containing a drink product at a position next a user's torso. The apparatus includes a strap assembly having upper and lower end portions, and a cable having ends that are attached to the lower portion of the strap assembly so that the cable forms a closed noose. The upper end of the strap assembly has a hanger for forming a connection with the user's clothing (for example belt, belt loop, etc.) at the torso area. A slide is provided for tightening the noose about a bottle to be supported, the slide frictionally engaging the cable at least in a locking position. A detachable connection can be provided for enabling the user to separate the bottle and noose from the remainder of the assembly such as when the user wants to consume the drink product. This detachable connection is preferably a detachable quick release buckle type arrangement that enables the user to quickly disconnect the bottle and the noose from the remainder of the assembly.

Abstract: A support strap for hand tools, hand guns and other hand-held implements having a pistol grip-type handle includes an elongated strip of flexible material having a ring attached to a first transverse end of the strip. A first fastener member is attached to the lower surface of the strip, proximate the second transverse end or tip of the strip, and a second fastener member releasably engageable with the first fastener member is attached to the upper surface of the strip. The strap is used by inserting the tip of the strap through the ring to form a first, wrist loop, into which loop the hand is inserted, and the free end pulled with a tension sufficient to tighten the loop to a desired tightness around the wrist of a user. The inner diameter of the loop is preferably slightly less than the width of the strip, thereby frictionally gripping the edges of the strap.

Abstract: A buckle system comprising a fixed part is disclosed. The fixed part has a front face and a rear face with a first leg and a second leg and, therebetween, an interior leg and an exterior leg and a central leg. A movable part has a front face and a rear face with an upper leg and a lower leg. Therebetween is an interior leg and an exterior leg and a central leg. A locking plate extends upwardly from the central leg of the fixed part with a section extending interiorly thereof. The locking plate forms a space between the locking plate and the remainder of the fixed part. The interior leg of the movable part has a height greater than the height of the locking plate and a diameter slightly greater than the space between the locking plate and the remainder of the fixed part.

Abstract: An improved fastening device is flush-mountable and provides a means for flush-mount fastening a sheeted material to a surface. The flush-mounted fastening device minimizes distraction from an attractive exterior surface. A flush-mounted receiving means embedded in the surface receives a plunger pin which is attached to and extends through the sheeted material so that the sheeted material may be fastened by a means which is flush with the surface.

Abstract: A device for assisting an infant with gripping a toy is disclosed. In the preferred embodiment, the device comprises a first toy-loop, for engaging a first portion of a toy, a second toy-loop, for engaging a second portion of a toy, a hand-strap, for connecting the first and second toy loops, a wrist-band, and a connecting strip, for connecting the wrist-band to the hand-strap. When properly placed on an infant, the wrist-band and hand-strap keep the toy positioned near the infant's hand in case the infant releases his/her grip on the toy so that the toy can be readily gripped again. Furthermore, the infant's hand is disposed between the toy and the hand-strap, thereby positioning the toy near the infant's palm for easy gripping by the infant.

Abstract: An eyeglass holder secures a pair of eyeglasses to a selected article of clothing when the eyeglasses are not being worn. The holder comprises a flexible strand folded back upon itself forming a loop to encircle and releasably hold the eyeglass temple bar. An adjusting sleeve allows size adjustment of the loop. A retention bead engages the loop to prevent the adjusting sleeve from sliding off the loop. The loop is connected to a spring loaded clamp having teeth releasably clamped to the selected article of clothing.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for sewing hair comprising: Selecting an eyeless needle hair sewing fastener. Each eyeless needle is narrow on one end and wider at the other. A resilient band is secured to the narrow end of the needle and slid up its shaft until snug at the wider end. The needle is then placed into hair. The free end of the band is put onto the needle tip and the needle is pulled through the band and sewn through the hair. Finally the needle is placed into the user's hair to secure. Whereby a person's hair is sewn and the device is easily removable and reusable.

Abstract: An improved end fastener for attaching the end of an eyeglass-holder cord to a temple leg of eyeglasses includes an elongated elastomeric body having a double-tapered slot for resiliently mounting the body about a temple leg. The slot has a slotted narrow web at the narrowest location. A hole in the body holds a connector ring to connect the body to an end of the holder cord via an eyelet of a cord-end cap. Molding of the double-tapered slot includes use of two opposed, tapered cores, each disposed in a half-cavity of the mold.

Abstract: A strap divider for diverging a pair of straps which are disposed one on top of the other into a Y configuration which may be used for the chin straps of a bicycle helmet. The strap divider includes a main body which receives the pair of straps therethrough, and a rotatable clamping member which can be rotated from a position where the straps are clamped in place to an open position where the straps may be adjusted. In one embodiment, the rotatable member includes a cam around its circumference which cooperates with a projection in the main body for adjusting the clamping member between the open position and the locked position as the clamping member is rotated.

Abstract: A new air bag restrictor for restricting the inflation of a driver's side air bag that has not inflated after a crash to permit safe extraction of an injured person within the vehicle. The inventive device includes an elongate bar having a longitudinal axis, a first end portion, a central portion, and a second end portion. The central portion is designed for positioning over the central hub of a steering wheel housing an air bag device. The second end portion is designed for abutting against the backside of a portion of the peripheral rim of a steering wheel. The first end portion forms a hook having an arcuate region and an arm region. The arm region of the hook is spaced apart from the central region to define a hooking space for receiving another portion of the perimeter rim of a steering wheel therein. The arm region also has a first bore extending therethrough while the central portion has a second bore extending therethrough coaxial with the first bore.

The eyeglass-holder assembly includes an eyeglass-holder loop having a temple-piece-receiver loop opening for receiving a temple piece of a pair of eyeglasses and a first and a second swivel linker. Each swivel linker has a necklace-side connector and a holder-loop-side connector rotatably joined together for full rotation about a swivel axis. The holder-loop-side connectors of the first and the second swivel linker are connected to the eyeglass-holder loop at locations spaced apart from one another about the loop. The necklace assembly also includes necklace/holder-assembly couplers connecting the respective ends of the necklace with the necklace-side connectors of corresponding swivel linkers of the eyeglass-holder assembly.

Abstract: A new safety bar securement strap for power equipment for maintaining a motor of the power equipment in an operative orientation. The inventive device includes a handle strap having a generally rectangular configuration. The handle strap has an upper surface and a lower surface. The upper surface has a pair of male snaps thereon inwardly of an outer edge thereof. The upper surface has a pair of female snaps thereon disposed inwardly from the outer edge thereof. The handle strap wraps around a handle of a piece of power equipment with the male snaps coupling with the female snaps for securement to the handle. The upper surface has a hook and loop patch disposed thereon inwardly of the female snaps. A safety bar strap is provided having a generally rectangular configuration. An inner edge of the safety bar strap is secured to an inner edge of the handle strap. A lower surface of the safety bar strap has a plurality of hook and loop strips disposed thereon in a spaced relationship.

Abstract: A retaining mechanism or lanyard for retaining a connecting member proximate to a point of connection. A flexible elongated member has an eyelet or loop on a first end, a connector having a connecting pin on the opposite end and a receptacle in between. The connecting member is placed between the connector and receptacle after which the connector is snap fit into the receptacle. The lanyard has unitary construction from a plastic material and requires no additional components during fabrication.

Abstract: An apparatus configured for mounting a casino issued slot club member card. The apparatus includes a card mount backing surface having side and bottom card lip retaining elements and an attached stretchable elongated coil member having a swivel mounted normally closed openable end piece. By opening this end piece, a slot card can be mounted to the piece through a preexisting hole in the card. The card mount has an upper back safety pin with a swivel connection used to attach the mount to a user's clothing.

Abstract: A tie having a shapeable elongate member with alligator clips affixed to its ends. A jacket on the elongate member is of resilient material. A holder is attachable to a clip and includes tube engaging members to support the tube in place relative the patient. The holder has closure strips for tube retention. A supplemental tie is attachable to the clips on the first mentioned elongate member to assist in supporting articles adjacent the patent. A clip of the tie may be attached to the elongate member to provide an enclosure for confining two or more tubes.

Abstract: An easily adjustable fastening belt for holding a dive knife including a belt and a male and a female fastening means separately connected to two ends of the belt. A length of the belt near the end having the female fastening means connected thereto is provided at an inner surface with a plurality of teeth. The female fastening means is provided at a body-facing side with a leaf spring member and at an outer side with a pivotally connected cover plate. The leaf spring has one end always pressing against a force-applying end of the cover plate, such that another end or a resistance end of the cover plate shall normally press against the toothed belt, so that the end of the belt with the female fastening means can only be pulled forward to tighten the belt around a wearer's leg.

Abstract: A device to secure golf club head covers to a golf bag includes a base ring member, a clip fitted to the base ring, and being structured for removable attachment to the golf bag, one or more elastomeric cords having a proximal end secured to the base ring with a swivel fitting and a distal end zone including a hook element fitted thereto with a swivel fitting for removable attachment of the cord to a respective one of the head covers, wherein the head covers, when removed from corresponding golf clubs, remain interconnected to the device and the golf bag so that they do not become separated therefrom and possibly misplaced or lost. One or more alligator clips or like fittings may be provided on the base ring for hanging a hat, glove, or other article therefrom.

The handle assembly includes a pair of duplicate handle housing portions each of which includes a pair of half-circle cord-receiver notches located along a transverse mid-line and each of which includes two pairs of auxiliary half-circle tether-receiver notches.

Abstract: A utility belt attachable to the two sides of a stroller in front of the occupant includes a plurality of tethers adapted to retain various objects relating to entertaining infants and small children. A traverse strap is suspended from two circular stroller frame members using Velcro hook-and-loop attachment to permit adjustment to various sized strollers. A plurality of object-holding tethers are fastened at a first end to the traverse strap. Each tether has a free end which is adapted to secure an item thereto such that toys, pacifiers, bottles, and the like. These items are thus secured to the stroller. A tether permanently attached to the traverse strap is provided with a ring which is sized to fit onto the neck of a feeding bottle and secure to the bottle when the lid is tightened onto the neck.

Abstract: A security anchor attaches a cable to an article in order to prevent theft of the article. The security anchor includes a disk having a central area and radially extending slots that form wing portions of the disk. The wing portions are rotatable relative to each other to allow the disk to conform to curved surfaces. The security anchor further includes a dome attached to the central area of the disk. The dome houses an end of a cable so that when a force is applied to the cable the force is distributed evenly on the wing portions of the disk.

Abstract: A system for holding canvas to a frame of a portable shelter or the like. An intermediate portion of a strip is attached to the canvas and the end portions are attached to a clip to form a loop which receives an endless elastomeric band which is attachable to a pair of spaced knobs on a frame member. At least one of the end portions is releasably attachable to the clip whereby the customer may easily replace a broken band.

Abstract: The present invention provides means for quickly and easily attaching a balloon to an anchoring object such as a name card holder, a flag, or a garment. The preferred embodiment is comprised of a specially manufactured ribbon which is made with an attachment mechanism on one end so that the balloon can be secured to an anchoring object without complicated pins, adhesive tape or knots.

Abstract: A security chain particularly adapted for retaining a magnetically encoded card such as a casino complimentary card including a split ring, detachably coupled to one end of a ball chain with the other end of the ball chain detachable coupled to an alligator clip which can be clipped to the users clothing. The magnetically encoded card can be easily inserted over a right angle tab on the split ring and threaded onto the ring.

Abstract: Buoyant tether cords that remove ignition keys from personal watercraft to safely disable the motor in the event a rider falls off. When dropped in the water the cords float so that the ignition key is not lost. The cords float horizontally to maximize visibility. The cord has an elongated embodiment and a looped embodiment. Both have a brightly colored floating body that is attached to a stretchable, coil section. The coil enables the cord to elongate or contract. Both cords have one end to be coupled to the watercraft key, and an opposite end to be coupled to the rider. The floating body comprises an elongated, tubular foam core having an interior passageway. The core is preferably made from lightweight, flexible low-density closed cell foam. The core is preferably coaxially covered by a resilient, tubular knitted fabric sheath that strengthens and colors it. Each coil comprises plastic-coated string.

Abstract: An eyeglass retainer having an elastic elongate member having an elongate tubular member secured on each of the opposing ends of the elongate member as disclosed. Each tubular member defines a hollow interior recess dimensioned to slidably receive a potion of an eyeglass frame to form a detachable pressure fit therewith. The length of the interior recess is dimensioned to provide the user with a degree of adjustability for purposes of adjusting the tension in the elongate member when the retainer is positioned about the user's head.

Abstract: A carrier for watches is disclosed including a loop for engaging the clothing of a wearer and a hanger suspended by the loop. The hanger is dimensioned to support a watch inverted. In one embodiment, the hanger partially encloses and engages the outer surface of the watch case. In a second embodiment, the hanger engages a pin on the six o'clock position pin openings of a wrist watch (with strap removed). In another embodiment, the hanger encloses the watch in a clamshell like fashion. In still another embodiment, a molded hanger of flexible material such as rubber or flexible plastic is formed with a recess to receive a watch.

Abstract: A clasp assembly for selectively connecting and disconnecting a pair of bands which define a watch bracelet is described. The clasp assembly includes a male coupling defined by a housing and a depending insert, and a female coupling having an inside wall which defines an opening that is sized to selectively receive the insert of the male coupling. The clasp assembly also includes a pair of tab members which overlie the insert for selectively engaging the female coupling member along the inside wall thereof. The clasp assembly further includes a spring which is operatively connected between the two tab members to enable the user to selectively lock and unlock the insert from the female coupling.

Abstract: A wallet tether is removable from a wallet or the like to which it is secured, to provide for use of the wallet in more formal situations where such a tether would be unsightly. The tether includes an openable loop which is securable about a belt, belt loop, or other appropriate structure of the apparel of the user, and an eyelet which is secured to the wallet by a threaded fastener which is passed through a hole in the wallet periphery. Thus, the wallet may be opened and the contents accessed without need to remove the tether from the wallet. An elongate, flexible cord extends between the apparel attachment loop and the wallet attachment eyelet. The cord may be non-metallic, in order to reduce to a minimum the amount of metal in the device to preclude requirement for removal for passage through metal detectors. Preferably, the cord ends are secured to the openable loop and to the wallet attachment eyelet with crimp connections, for strength, durability, and economy of manufacture.

Abstract: A tarp protector for use in the shipping industry is disclosed, comprised of an elongated sheet of webbing, metal rings at either end affixed to the webbing with a plurality spaced apart rings there between, male-female releasable connecting means attached to each end respectively to allow extensions, and retractable protective flaps permanently affixed to the webbing and covering the rings and connecting means.
