Having Specific Surface Material Or Irregularity On Or Along Engaging Face Patents (Class 24/507)
  • Patent number: 5085060
Abstract: Described herein is a clip ring type ornamental clasp which can be used in various ways for securely gripping thin material like a handkerchief as well as relatively thick material like a belt. A clip ring is pivotally attached on a gripping surface of an ornament body through a ring support member. A rubber sheet with a bulged portion in its center portion is securely bonded on the gripping surface, while an anti-slip cover structure of rubber or other material of a large frictional coefficient is fitted on the clip ring. The anti-slip cover structure is provided with an opening of a larger diameter than a cloth threading hole in the clip ring, so that the marginal edges of the cloth threading hole are exposed at the inner periphery of the opening in the cover structure. The ornamental clasp grips cloth or other article securely between the anti-slip member and the anti-slip cover structure with high gripping force, and can be used in various ways without slip-off.

  • Patent number: 5075935
Abstract: A molded plastic hanger and a clip. The clip may be used with the hanger or separately. The hanger includes a body portion and a hook portion. The body portion includes a pair of parallel arms joined together at the ends thereof and an intermediate crossbar. The swivel hook includes a stem which is connected to the body portion at the crossbar. The stem includes an annular locking recess in its periphery which is adapted to be received within a mating socket of the crossbar to thereby connect the hook portion and the body portion to each other while enabling them to be swiveled readily with respect to each other. The clip can be secured to an arm of the hanger, to any other rod-like element, or to a clothesline, for example. The clip is formed of a two-part construction. The clip comprises a pair of plastic, complementary jaws joined together by a bridge-like member. The bridge-like member is joined, at each end, to the middle portion of each of the complementary jaws by means of a living hinge.

  • Patent number: 4938514
Abstract: A portable hand tool, for holding an elongate needle cap so that a syringe needle can safely be inserted into the cap, has a lever structure comprising a pair of juxtaposed, mating, pivotally connected levers. The levers at their front ends have marginal edges defining a cap receiving opening parallel to the axis of pivot. The structure provides a wall functioning as a base for the opening and a spring normally biases the front ends of the levers to a closed cap gripping position. The levers are operated by squeezing their rear ends to achieve a cap receiving and releasing position.

  • Patent number: 4635636
Abstract: A microspike surgical approximator usable to stabilize the ends of ducts or vessels being anastomosed microsurgically includes a pair of approximating clamps slidable along a bar which is foldable at a point intermediate the approximating clamps. Each clamp includes a stationary blade which is alidable along the bar and a pivoted blade that is movable with respect to the stationary blade. The major faces of the blades terminate in lower duct or vessel clamping portions, each of which has a curved jaw segment. These jaw segments cooperate to form an annular duct or vessel receiving aperture. A plurality of microspikes are secured to the curved jaw segments and extend into the duct or vessel receiving aperture. During vessel stabilization, the microspikes contact the adventitia of the vessel to hold the duct or vessel ends with minimal trauma.

  • Patent number: 4605990
Abstract: A disposable surgical clip-on light pipe illumination assembly constituted by a manually-operated clamp adapted to clip onto an abdominal or other tissue wall surrouding a surgical site. The clamp is provided with a holder to retain a short, flexible light pipe at a position at which the front section of the pipe which terminates in an optical outlet projects into the surgical site. The rear end of the pipe terminates in an optical inlet coupled to a light source whereby light transmitted through the pipe is discharged from its optical outlet into the site. The front section of the pipe is sheathed in a bendable sleeve having dead soft characteristics, thereby making it possible for the surgeon, by bending the sleeve, to orient the light outlet to direct the light emanating therefrom toward a desired region of the surgical site.
