Abstract: In a snap buckle, the plug member 1 has a pair of resilient locking strips, each having on its outer surface an engaging portion, and a pair of guide strips outside the locking strips, each having an inner edge portion substantially in alignment with the respective engaging portion. The companion socket member has a pair of locking walls and a pair of inwardly bent resilient push levers outside the locking walls. When inserting the plug member into the socket member, the engaging portions engages the locking walls to bring the inner edge portions of the guide strips into contact with the side surfaces of the locking walls, causing the pushing portions of the push levers to resiliently contact the heads of the locking strips. Pressing the pushing levers inwardly releases the connection of the plug and socket members. The guide strips prevents either any accidental release or any misinsertion.

Abstract: Apparatus for securely attaching a casing to a person includes an elongate strap and a strap connector having a male retainer at an end thereof. The strap connector has a female retainer at an opposite end thereof. A casing defines first and second openings connected by a passageway. The female retainer is snap-fit to the casing in the passageway of the casing through the first opening. The male retainer is snap-fit to the female retainer in the passageway through the second opening.

Abstract: A dissipating structure for central processing unit chip includes a frame, a fixture, a felt board, a dissipating board, and a fan, wherein an open end of the fixture is rotatably secured to the frame. The rest edges of the fixture are formed like holding portion adapted to hold the chip, the felt board, and the dissipating board in place, sequentially. A plurality of dissipating elements are formed on the dissipating board adapted to dissipate heat created by cpu chip. Four dissipating blocks are formed at four corners of the dissipating board each having an aperture adapted to secure the fan thereon by means of screws.

Abstract: A buckle assembly formed from a molded plastic material comprises a plug member and a socket member releasably engageable therewith, the plug member having a pair of spaced engaging tongues adapted to engage with corresponding flexural flanges of the socket member to urge the flanges to displace radially outwardly beyond the confines of lateral sides of the socket member. The plug member includes a locking prong resiliently movable into and out of a window formed in the socket member. A single hand manipulation of the locking prong and/or the flexural flanges facilitates resilient release of the plug member from the socket member.

Abstract: A buckle including a female receptacle member having a tubular body, an interior channel therethrough and being open to the channel on a portion of the tubular body, a male latch member having at least one arm member for insertion within the channel through the open end of the female receptacle member and a latch member formed between the tubular body and the arm member for releasable locking engagement of the tubular body and the arm member upon insertion of the arm member within the channel and for providing a resistance force in opposition to and alignment with an arm member removal loading force between the tubular body and the arm member.

Abstract: A quick-release connector for connecting a handle to a mop head or the like comprises a first section for attachment to the handle and a second section for attachment to the mop head. The first section has a plurality of receptacles which mate with a similar plurality of bayonet projections in the second section. At least one of the bayonet projections is resiliently flexible and flexes outward when the first and second sections are pushed together so as to mate with and be securely gripped by an indentation in the first section providing a positive interlock between the sections. Another of the bayonet projections is a rigid, longer bayonet which acts as a guide when the two sections are connected together. The first section also has a polygon-shaped, shallow recess which mates with a similar polygon-shaped protrusion in the second section when the two sections are pushed together to provide resistance to torsional stress.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for providing a catch capable of combining two flexible bands into one loopable accessory that may be fastened about a wearer, typically with only one hand. The invention has a catch body that is connected to an end of a guard and a male guard tongue that is attached to an opposite end of the guard. The catch body is constructed so as to have two female receivers. One receiver serves as a receptacle for the male bracelet tongue and is fastenable thereto. The other receiver serves as a mating receptacle for the male guard tongue. The bracelet is fixed in place in a track of the guard. The bracelet is looped about the guard so that the tip of the bracelet tongue passes through the receiver and inserts into the opposite end of the bracelet which is also positioned within the catch. By connecting all ends of the several bands at the catch body, a combination loop is formed.

Said catch and caught means may be applied in singular set or disposed in double sets diametrically, catch and/or caught member may desirably made integrally with the first and/or second part where flange, extending stem etc. are made available.

Abstract: In a tape cartridge (20), a snap pin fastener (100) is provided for securing the cover (88) and base plate (90) while permitting therebetween differential expansion in a longitudinal direction (108) of the base plate. One dimension (112) of the snap pin is chosen small enough to flex under a force induced by differential thermal expansion of the cover and base plate. Thus the base plate remains flat, insuring registration between the tape and a transducer head. The second dimension (114) is chosen great enough to provide, with the first dimension, a cross section (115) sufficient to resist operational forces placed on the cover and base.

Abstract: A quick release strap system comprising,a molded plastic quick release male or female buckle component, a base and a conical aperture in the base coaxial with the center line, and an annular bearing shoulder formed interiorly of the base and coaxial with the conical aperture. The conical aperture receives a swivel connector having at least a pair of spring cam surface fingers adapted to be cammed toward one another by the conical aperture and a bearing ledge formed on the spring cam fingers contiguous to the cam surfaces and engagable with the annular shoulder bearing surface after the spring cam surfaces have passed the conical aperture. A strap having a pair of ends and means securing said one end of said pair of ends to said swivel connector opposite said spring cam finger.

Abstract: A buckle is provided which includes a male portion and a female portion. The male portion includes inwardly deformable spring arms with detent protuberances. The detent protuberances engage detent apertures within detent recesses on lateral sides of the female portion. Lateral release guards are formed so as to shield the detent protuberances from being inadvertently depressed thereby releasing the male portion from the female portion. The lateral release guards include two portions meeting at an angle thereby forming a point of flexure. An internal rotatable locking assembly within the female portion can be rotated or a wedge can be slid within a channel so as to prevent the depression of the spring arms thereby locking the male and female portions to each other.

Abstract: A releasable buckle is described, made of molded synthetic plastic material and comprising a female part and a male part which snap-engages into a socket defined within the female part by means of a pair of longitudinal resilient arms provided with teeth which lock the buckle by cooperating with respective edges of a pair of lateral through slots formed within the female part. The male part is further provided with a central rigid arm cooperating with guide means of the socket within the female part and adapted to limit, in use, the deflection of the resilient arms. This rigid arm has a length such as to cooperate in an interfering manner when the teeth are in the engaged position within the slots, with resilient means provided upon a bottom wall of the socket of female part.

Abstract: A fastening device comprising a fastener having a base fixed on the front panel of a computer casing and a plurality of resilient legs hanging therefrom. Each of the resilient legs has an outward convex foot formed on the end thereof so that when the fastener is pushed into a retaining hole formed on the computer casing to connect the front panel to the computer casing, the feet of the fastener are slightly and temporarily pushed inward when passing through the retaining hole and then spring back to retain the fastener in position when completely passing the retaining hole.

Abstract: A quick disconnect connector. A female member includes an outwardly opening cavity formed by four integrally formed sidwalls. A male member is insertable into the cavity and includes a pair of flexible spring biased arms releasably lockable and extendable into a pair of slots formed in the sidewalls of the female member. Ramps formed on the flexible arms are arranged relative to the slot edges to force the arms inwardly apart from the sidewalls to unlock therefrom when oppositely directed forces are applied to the opposite ends of the male member and female member. Cooperating guide means formed internally on the sidewalls and on a center post cantileveredly mounted to the male member guide the male member relative to the female member. Slots formed in the opposite ends of the male member and female member mountingly receive belts arranged perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the male member and female member.

The resilient arms each have a stop finger normally spaced apart from but abuttingly engageable with the flange when lateral pull is exerted upon the release lever.

Abstract: A tennis net center strap with an integral measuring device for adjusting and maintaining the top of a tennis net at a selected height above a tennis court surface. The tennis net center strap is preferably made from two strips of material, one end of the first strip being connected to the first part of a quick release mechanism having a serrated slot therein for receiving the free end of the second strip. A fastener including a hook surface and a loop surface is located on the second strip, the hook and loop surfaces being lockably engageable after the second strip is threaded through the second part of the quick release mechanism and folded back on itself.

Abstract: An article securing device consisting of two parts, a block with a hole in it and an article holding portion having two arms which can be inserted into and locked onto the block. The arms have notches on their ends for engaging the block and locking the article holding portion thereon. The article holding portion has an oblong shaped looped portion. When one said of the oblong loop portion is squeezed one arm rides up on and is depressed into a depression on the other arm, unlocking the arms from the block and allowing th earticle holding portion to be withdrawn from the block for inserting articles on the article holding portion.

Abstract: A system of construction comprising a plurality of modules. The modules have a plurality of struts and pivots joining the struts so that they are moveable between a collapsed condition in which the struts are bundled in generally parallel relation and an expanded condition. In the expanded condition certain of the pivots define face pivots lying in a planar array at one side of the module. The modules are arranged such that pairs of the face pivots of adjacent modules are adjacent to each other. The adjacent face pivots are joined by removable connectors. The connectors join the modules to form a three dimensional structure and simultaneously define corner recesses. At least one panel is held in place by a plurality of the corner recesses.

Abstract: A plug for the bearing of an autohoist arm on a motor-vehicle body comprises an elastic receiving part secured in a receiving orifice and a dimensionally stable spacer piece located in front of and clipped securely to the receiving part. A common passage bore is provided in the receiving part for receiving a retention peg which secures both the receiving parts and the spacer piece in the receiving orifice by nose-shaped forms at its ends. The position of the retention peg is fixed by a locking pin.

Abstract: An improved high chair comprising a seat with a back component and a bottom component for receiving a child thereon; a plurality of tubes for strengthening the seat and extending on opposite sides of the seat for forming arm rests; a plurality of legs for supporting the seat at a proper height; a tray removably positioned on the arm rests in front of the seat above the bottom component; and a seat belt assembly comprising a pair of generally horizontally extending waist straps each coupled at its remote end to a portion of a high chair seat with a buckle part at its front end, a crotch strap permanently secured to a front central extent of the seat portion and having a free front end, and a main buckle permanently attached to the free end of the crotch strap with the main buckle also having a pair of attachment mechanisms for removably receiving the buckle parts of the ends of the waist straps.

Abstract: A fastener and removal tool adapted for manually securing and thereafter detaching two separate members in a preselected spatial relationship is disclosed. The fastener includes an elongate shaft, an abutment plate mounted on a first shaft end, and a collapsible head mounted on an opposing shaft end. The removal tool includes a plurality of elongate shafts positioned to be driven along the exterior surface of the fastener to apply a compression force along that shaft, thereby effecting a collapse of the shaft end sufficient to permit the retraction of the fastener from its engagement with the connected members.

Abstract: A buckle includes a male member having a tongue-shaped presser having on its lower side a pair of engaging legs and a female member including in its upper side an aperture for insertion of the engaging legs, and a pair of transversely spaced resilient arms adapted for angular movement around their proximal ends against their own resiliency, the arms having on their middles engaging means for engagement with the engaging legs when the engaging legs are forced through an aperture. Uncoupling means are rotatably mounted on the upper side of the female member and so operatively linked with the free ends of the resilient arms that the rotation of the uncoupling means causes the resilient arms angularly move against their own resiliency, thereby bringing the engaging means out of engagement with the engaging legs.

Abstract: A lockable buckle includes a body member, a latch member, and a rotary locking member. The body member includes a pair of locking side slots. The latch member includes a pair of resilient arms having raised tab portions thereon for releasably engaging the opposed locking side slots of the body member. The rotary locking member is disposed in the body member and is adapted for rotation therein between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the raised tab portions are permitted to bend inwardly so as to allow insertion or removal of the latch member from the body member. In the second position, the raised tab portions are prevented from bending inwardly, thereby inhibiting disengagement of the latching member from the body member.

Abstract: A buckle assembly composed of three components, i.e. a retainer base, a plug and a socket for releasably connecting three belts or straps. The retainer base has an aperture for receiving therein an upstanding generally C-shaped locking lug to connect the retainer base and the socket. The plug is slidably mounted on the retainer base and having a pair of resilient legs snappingly engageable with the locking lug to releasably couple the retainer base and the socket. With this construction, the buckle assembly can be assembled easily without a tedious and time consuming positional adjustment between the plug and the socket. The snap-fit between the resilient legs and the locking lug insures a firm coupling engagement between the retainer base and the socket.

Abstract: A coupling assembly for connecting adjacent ends of conduits, primarily used for aircraft fuel lines having redundant locking features is provided. This coupling can be manipulated with one hand and includes a central tine and laterally spaced locking tines which engage a mating channel for locking the coupling in secured relationship. Indicia is provided across the locking tines which is not visible when the coupling assembly is completely and securely closed. The coupling assembly can be manipulated with one hand and has viewing ports to be sure that all parts are in place. Also, the tines and guide members are configured to create a force between the two with a longitudinal component tending to open the assembly.

Abstract: A buckle assembly includes a socket member and a plug member adapted to be releasably coupled with the socket member. The socket member includes a resilient locking arm releasable engageable with a pair of locking legs of the plug member when the locking legs are inserted into the socket member. The plug member includes a resilient tongue disposed between the locking legs and lying in a plane extending above the locking legs. The socket member includes a resilient flap disposed above the locking arm and having on its inner surface a presser lug engageable with the resilient tongue to flex the latter downwardly, and a releasing lug engageable with the locking arm to flex the latter downwardly for disengaging the latter from the locking legs.

Abstract: A buckle assembly composed of three components, i.e. a socket, a main plug and an auxiliary plug for releasably connecting three straps or belts. The socket includes a cantilevered resilient locking arm interlockingly engageable with a resilient locking tongue of the main plug when the locking tongue is received in a guide chamber in the socket to thereby couple the socket and the main plug. The auxiliary plug is slidably mounted on the main plug and having two resilient, inwardly deformable locking legs snappingly engageable with respective retaining projections of the socket when the locking legs are received in the guide chamber. The auxiliary plug further includes a resilient releasing leg extending parallel to the locking legs and having a releasing cam projection engageable with the resilient locking arm to flex the latter outwardly away from the guide chamber for releasing the locking arm from interlocking engagement with the locking tongue, thereby uncoupling the main plug and the socket.

Abstract: A locking system is described for detachably securing two workpieces together (e.g., two housing sections). Elongated arms are carried by one workpiece and a corresponding opening(s) is present in the other workpiece. The outer end of each elongated arm is resiliently deflectable so that it is deflected when being inserted into the opening in the one workpiece; then the arm springs back. A locking arm on the second workpiece is then able to move behind the end of the elongated arm to restrict deflection of the arm, thus preventing any unintentional unlocking of the two workpieces.

Abstract: A side-release type buckle is provided with a sliding member arrangement that enables the buckle to be easily released using only one hand, even if the engagement of the two parts of the buckle are being subjected to a strong pulling force in the direction of disengagement. The sliding member or grip is slidably mounted upon the exterior of the female member and includes laterally inwardly directed tapered surfaces for encountering engaging bars of the male member lockingly engaged with engagement edge portions of the female portion so as to disengage the engaging bars of the male member from the engagement edge portions of the female member when the slidable grip member is moved axially along the female member.

Abstract: A safety buckle which is comprised of two, releasable, interlocking portions. One portion has outward flexing lateral arms with tabs connected to their leading ends. Positioned between the lateral arms is a central safety arm which flexes vertically and has a latching hook connected to its leading end. The arms flex slightly to facilitate insertion into the receiving portion. When fully inserted the tabs of the lateral arm protrude into corresponding openings located on opposite sides of the receiving portion whereas the hook of the safety arm locks into a corresponding slot located on the back of the receiving poriton. Release of the interlocked portions is best accomplished by use of two hands; the thumb and first finger of one hand depressing the tabs of the lateral arms, and a finger of the other hand depressing the hook of the safety arm sufficient to permit release.

Abstract: A method of retaining a splined male member and a splined female member against relative axial motion therebetween when the splines of the members are in engagement with one another and a unitary axial retaining member for use in the practice of the method. The method includes the steps of mounting a hollow, thermoplastic axial retaining member to the interior surface of the female member and positively interconnecting the other end of the axial retaining member with the male member. The axial retaining member has an inwardly oriented flange for interconnecting one end of the retaining member to the male member and an outwardly oriented radial flange for interconnecting the opposite end of the retaining member to the female member. A plurality of longitudinal slots are optionally formed in one end of the retaining member to separate it into a plurality of flexible fingers to facilitate interconnection of that end of the retaining member with its associated male or female member.

Abstract: A buckle device comprising separable cooperating receptacle and clasp members and releasable locking means between the receptacle and the clasp. Said locking means includes a through side locking slot and top locking slot in said receptacle and a resiliently supported locking side tab on said clasp engageble with said side locking slot and a second tab on said clasp engageable with said second locking slot. The locking means on said clasp include cam means for disengaging said second tab from said second slot when pressure is applied to said side locking tab of said clasp.

Each member has first and second cantilevered arms, one of which is resiliently flexible and has a locking tab, and which are adapted to wedge against an internal wedge formed in the outer member so as to cause the members to spring apart when released. Abstract: Securing device for concentrically mounting a helical spring on a rod having a transverse abutment surface and a groove, the securing device being elastic and capable of being mounted on the rod and comprising a part intended to be received in the groove and an inclined surface forming an apex which, when the securing device is mounted on the rod, defines a point at a maximum distance from a longitudinal axis of the rod and is located at a predetermined distance from the abutment surface, the spring having an internal radius less than the maximum distance and being made from a substantially cylindrical wire, the radius of which is less than the predetermined distance.

Abstract: In a buckle comprising male and female members, releasably couplable to each other in snap action, the female member has in its side wall a pair of side walls a pair of side slits, respectively, in which a pair of resilient arms of the female member extends. The female member also has in its bottom wall a pair of transversely spaced holes into which a projection on the respective arm extends. The movement of each arm in a direction perpendicular to the general plane of the female member is restricted within the width of the respective slit, while the transverse movement of each arm is restricted within the width of the respective hole.

Abstract: An anchor for attaching cables or other devices to a wall structure comprises a hollow metal cylinder having a pair of wing members pivoted within the cylinder and extending through opposing openings in the sides of the cylinder. The wings are spring biased to their collapsed positions in the cylinder and are extended by the pressure of a bolt threaded in one end of the cylinder. The wings may be forced by the bolt to wedge the cylinder in a concrete or other solid wall, alternatively may be extended in back of a panel wall for retaining the anchor in place.

Abstract: An oscillating sprinkler is specially designed to facilitate assembly, as well as disassembly for purposes of repair of replacement of parts, without sacrifice of water-tight integrity and with improved operating characteristics. The housing for the impulse wheel and for supporting one end of the sprinkler tube is formed of two parts snapped together to effect the necessary seal, the sprinkler tube is mounted therein by a snap action insertion, thereby to define an operating subassembly, and that subassembly is reliably assembled with a mounting subassembly by sliding insertion and snap action retention. The sprinkler tube is sealingly journaled in such a manner as to produce very low friction, thus reducing the load on the impeller wheel and enabling the sprinkler to have a very low pressure drop therethrough, thereby increasing the sprinkling range of the device.

Abstract: A separable connector for strap ends has a tapered tongue guided in a socket member between guide ribs so that passages are formed outwardly of these ribs for deflectable tongues which lodge in slits of the socket member. The plug member of the connector or, more generally, a buckle for a strap end, can have a movable bar about which the strap can be looped and which has wedge-shaped formations at its ends guided in wedge-shaped slots so that canting of the bar is prevented when the bar clamps the strap end against the movable bars.

Abstract: A cartridge cover having slotted bosses which are positioned so that both the bosses and their slots are aligned with the vectorial resultant lines representing the direction of change that takes place during thermal expansion of the cartridge. Each boss has a fitting which engages pins fixed into the base of the cartridge, thereby securing the cover to the base. The cover and the base have different coefficients of thermal expansion. The slots are of sufficient length to allow all motion of the pins, taking place as a result of thermal expansion, to occur within the slots.

Abstract: A buckle comprises a male member having a pair of resilient legs releasably engageable with a socket portion of a female member to couple the male and female members, the female member having a pair of cantilevered resilient arms resiliently flexible toward each other to urge the legs out of interlocking engagement with the socket portion. The arms are disposed between a pair of opposed plates of the socket member and have stop fingers loosely received in apertures in one of the plates. With this construction, the resilient arms are protected against damage or breakage when subjected to forces tending to flex the arms in a direction either parallel to or perpendicular to the general plane of the socket portion. The male member includes a generally U-shaped reinforcing rib disposed between and connected with the legs with a U-shaped slit defined therebetween so as to increase the resiliency of the legs.

Abstract: The disclosure concerns a sun visor for a vehicle, having a cushioned body with a reinforcing, stiffening wire insert disposed in it. A mounting shaft is at one end of one edge of the body and a mounting pin extending parallel to the longitudinal edges is at the other end of the one longitudinal edge of the body. The mounting pin is supported on a pair of legs attached to a base plate of a structural member, which is supported in a trough at one of the wide surfaces of the cushioned body. The mounting pin is disposed in a recess formed at the one longitudinal edge. The base plate of the mounting pin has a spring clip disposed perpendicularly to the wide surfaces which engages the wire insert or a holding plate secured to the wire insert to hold the base plate in place.

Abstract: A strap buckle having male and female components which are connected to respective opposite ends of a strap and which have cooperative and releasable latching means whereby the two components are releasably held against separation. The strap is connected to the male component through connecting means arranged to permit adjustment of the effective length of the strap so that the strap can be extended or shortened as required, and in use that connecting means normally locks the strap against extension. The female component includes a strap reacting section which overlies the connecting means of the male component when the two components are connected together and thereby prevents the strap from being manipulated such as to release it from the locking influence of the connecting means. The male component has three laterally spaced arms which locate within the female component, and guard means is provided on one or more of those arms to prevent incorrect or incomplete cooperation of the two components.

Abstract: A releasable clasp including a male insert member and a female receiving member, the female receiving member including a passageway having a single retaining slot in one wall. An abutment projects into the passageway from an opposing wall. The male insert member includes a body portion supporting a pair of forwardly directed springy arms which are insertable into the passageway. One of the arms serves as a guiding arm, and includes a nose portion and an inwardly stepped surface longitudinally extending rearwardly from the nose portion and terminating in a shoulder. The other arm serves as a locking arm, and includes a locking tab for entry into the retaining slot. Teh nose portion is spaced forward of and overlaps the locking tab. Upon entry of the arms into the passageway, the shoulder causes deflection of the guiding arm toward the locking arm until further inspection brings about the entry of the locking tab into the retaining slot.

Abstract: A connector socket adapted to be retained in an opening of a printed circuit board to receive a contact pin or the like, has a tubular body portion receivable in the circuit board opening, and has an external shoulder that acts as a stop during the inserting movement. The body portion contains a spring contactor for engagement with any suitable contact pin. For retaining the connector socket securely in the circuit board, it has at least one external resilient spring retainer finger but preferably two fingers which extend lengthwise of the tubular body and engage the circuit board at the opening thereof. The retainer fingers are movable independently of the body, but are formed integrally therewith.

Abstract: A clip joins a face mask to a helmet, the helmet having an elongate element like a wire and the face mask having a recess in the form of an elongate slot. The clip has two similar halves integrally pivoted together and defining adjacent the pivot region a receiving cavity for the elongate element. Each half of the clip is adapted to co-act resiliently with the recess to be retained by and in it.

Abstract: A pivot mechanism for pivotably mounting a television receiver cabinet on a swivel base includes a molded pivot socket and a molded pivot pin. The pivot socket includes deformable tabs for locking engagement within an aperture in the swivel base. The pivot pin extends through an aperture in the receiver cabinet and includes deformable tabs for locking engagement with the pivot socket.

Abstract: A bracket structure for supporting a horizontal or vertical sheet-like member and adapted for attachment to a supporting apertured panel having a first U-shaped clip with two opposing spaced flat side walls joined by an integral end wall. A stem extends outwardly of the end wall which has a cylindrical slotted neck to define flexible spaced bifurcations. When the bifurcations are pressed together they define a round head which may enter an aperture in the supporting panel.
