Abstract: A self-emptying bag having a quick coupling buckle assembly, in particular for shoulder-strap, has a buckle assembly (4) comprised of two parts (40, 41) that are respectively fixed to two sections (201, 202) of a shoulder-strap (200) of a bag so that a snatch on the bag, through the flexible transmission (30), operates the release mechanism and causes the expandable sack to be inflated to upset outside the contents in the bag. Flexible transmission (30) is connected to a coupling member (91) movable inside the first part (40) of the buckle assembly (4). The two parts of buckle are formed in such a way that first the second part (41) can be detached from the first part (40), and then the second part (41) can be detached from the coupling member (91) after a traction has been exerted on the coupling member (91).

The security buckle a first body member having one or more walls defining a receiving cavity and one or more mating slots; and a second body member adapted to engage the receiving cavity, the second body member including one or more latching tabs for engaging the one or more mating slots wherein the second body member is inhibited from disengagement while the one or more latching tabs engage the one or more mating slots, and wherein the first body member includes a portion of the one or more walls defining a security slot adapted for receiving an interfering object that includes an engagement mode for insertion and removal from the slot and an interfering mode for inhibiting the one or more latching tabs from disengaging from the one or more mating tabs until the interfering object is transitioned to the engagement mode.

Abstract: A device is disclosed for adjusting the length of a strap on a mask for aquatic activities. The mask comprises a frame for supporting one or more lenses and a plurality of fork-shaped portions extending from either side of the frame. Each portion contains a pivot about which a portion of a strap end is wrapped, the portion having a plurality of stop ribs on one side. The adjustment device comprises a stop lever housed in each portion and a tooth extending from the lever for engaging one of the ribs. The lever has a substantially U-shaped member and a tongue extending from the base of the member such that the tongue is coplanar with and cantilevered in the lever. On a side opposite the tooth, a head extends from the tongue, against which a wedge-shaped portion of a button abuts, sliding with respect to the fork-shaped portion on a plane generally parallel to the U-shaped member.

The male member includes a base portion (10), a pair of leg portions (20) projected from the base portion and an engagement portion (25) that is provided to each of the leg portions and engageable with the female member. The base portion includes a projected portion (14) that is projected in a projecting direction of the leg portions (20), the projected portion (14) projected in such a manner that a projecting amount gradually increases from width-direction ends of the base portion toward a center. The leg portions each include an outer leg piece (21) and an inner leg piece (22) and further includes a tip-end connector (24) that connects the outer leg piece and the inner leg piece. A base end of the inner leg piece is positioned on the projected portion (14).

The retaining arm is elastically exposed from and retained to a side opening provided on a sidewall of the receiving space when the male member is plugged into the female member. The retaining arm further includes an inward extended extension portion having a first retaining block with a first toothed face provided near a distal end thereof. The receiving space is internally provided with a downward extended second retaining block having a second toothed face opposite to the first toothed face. The first and the second toothed face firmly engage with one another to provide the buckle with an enhanced force-bearing strength when the connected male and female members are subjected to two opposite pull forces.

The plug member includes a base portion, a pair of engaging legs extended from the base portion such that the engaging legs may be resiliently engaged to the socket member, and a guide rod extended from the base portion between the engaging legs. The opening is wider in a central area than at its ends. The male portion has at least one locking arm with a free end and a locking tab. Inserting the male portion into the female portion compresses locking arm, causing the locking tab to extend through the opening in the locking end. Inserting the male portion fully into the female portion causes tab to rest against one of the narrow ends of the opening in the locking end, to lock the male portion to the female portion. Pulling the male portion against the female portion causes the tab to lock even more firmly against the edges of the opening to prevent inadvertent disengagement.

When the center push button is depressed, the spring compresses and causes the flexible leg to bend and release the catch on the male portion so that the male portion is ejected from the female portion when the locking tab is depressed sufficiently to clear the locking slot.

Abstract: A system and method which provide a general-purpose snap connector suitable for coupling microcomponents are disclosed. A snap connector is disclosed that is suitable for performing general assembly, including out-of-plane, 3-D assembly of microcomponents, wherein such microcomponents may be securely coupled together. That is, a snap connector is disclosed which enables microcomponents to be coupled in a manner that constrains undesirable movement of the coupled components relative to each other. Preferably, such a snap connector may be pressure fit with a receptacle (or aperture) of a mating component in a manner that constrains translational and rotational degrees of freedom of the mating component relative to the snap connector. A preferred embodiment provides a “preloaded” snap connector that may be utilized to perform general assembly of microcomponents. An alternative embodiments provides a non-preloaded snap connector suitable for performing general assembly of microcomponents.

Abstract: A lanyard, two-piece, high load buckle assembly including a keeper and a cover. The cover is hinged to the keeper and the lanyard is secured thereto. The cover defines an elongated slot. The cover has a cam surface formed on the under surface thereof and terminates in a locking surface. An opening is formed in the cover. The assembly also contains a secure part which includes a base and a tongue section extending from the base. The tongue section has parallel guide arms extending from a rear wall and terminating in leading ends. A member secured to the guide arms is configured with reference to the slot to remove debris from the slot through the opening in the cover. A cam surface formed in the tongue section terminates in a catch surface, such that when the secure part is received in the keeper, the cam surfaces engage and the cover deflects upwardly. The catch surface extends beyond the locking surface and the cover closes fastening the secure part to the keeper.

Abstract: A seatbelt assembly with a buckle has male and female mating parts, in which the male part includes features to prevent disengagement operation by a child. The child resistant features include added ribs, webbing in the form of flanges or struts, or barbs or prongs that increase the difficulty for disengaging the buckle. The female part can have an arcuate outer surface to increase the overall durability of the buckle and resist damaging external forces or damaging misuse. The female part can also be provided with lateral shoulders to make the female part harder to withdraw and thus more child resistant. The seatbelt assembly with the child resistant buckle can be operated easily by an adult, while remaining secure from disengagement by a typical child.

Abstract: The invention describes a lanyard coupler or buckle with an optionally manual or automatic breakaway feature. The buckle includes insert and receptacle members, each of which have a variable insert stop means that can mutually interact either adversely or reciprocally when the insert is placed within the receptacle. Adverse interaction results in partial insertion, frictional coupling, and an automatic release of the members upon application of tensional force. Reciprocal interaction results in full penetration and a locking interactional coupling of the insert arms with the receptacle. Manual compression of the arms is then required for separation of the two members. Lanyard and card attachment means are provided on both members.

That is, a pressure-fitting receptacle is disclosed which enables microcomponents to be coupled in a manner that constrains undesirable movement of the coupled components relative to each other. Preferably, such a receptacle may be pressure fit with a mating component (or a portion thereof) in a manner that constrains translational and rotational degrees of freedom of the mating component relative to the receptacle. A preferred embodiment provides a “preloaded” receptacle that may be utilized to perform general assembly of microcomponents.

Abstract: A vehicle body restraint system including a buckle for latching and retaining a latch plate associated with a safety belt wherein the buckle includes a latching mechanism which is moved to a first “locked” position by a threaded component placed under torque to retain the latch plate upon insertion of the latch plate into a buckle housing and wherein release of the latch plate is only permitted upon manual rotation of a pivotal release member which is operatively connected to the threaded component to thereby move the latch plate to a second “release” position. Abstract: A clasp for a watch wristband includes: two male (2) and female (4) joining parts able to be coupled by inserting the male part (2) into the female part (4); and a resilient locking mechanism, provided on the male part (2), locking with a catching mechanism provided on the female part (4), when the male part (2) is pushed into an engagement position in said female part (4) so that it is then impossible to pull outwardly the male joining part (2), the male (2) and female (4) joining parts being able to be uncoupled from each other by pushing the male part (2) further into the female part (4) so that the locking mechanism is released from the catching mechanism and the male joining part (2) can be pulled out of the female joining part (4).

Abstract: The invention provides a buckle which is formed from a buckle main body and an insert-in body, and which has a good appearance in which a belt attaching portion is hidden from view. The buckle is formed from a buckle main body and an insert-in body. The insert-in body is provided with engaging rods and a guide rod. The engaging rods are provided at both sides of a base portion of the insert-in body and have engaging portions which engage with engaging holes of the buckle main body. The guide rod is provided at a center of the base portion and can be inserted into an insert-in hole of the buckle main body. At an opposite surface of the base portion are provided a lower surface plate having a belt attaching portion, and an upper surface plate which covers a surface of the lower surface plate. A belt insertion hole into which the belt is inserted is formed between the upper surface plate and the lower surface plate. The buckle main body is formed from an upper surface plate, a lower surface plate and side walls.

An elongate pull element extends from the deformable portion or portions for pulling thereon to deform the deformable portions to disengage the male and female members.

Abstract: A strap retainer for a buckle assembly wherein a strap retaining portion defines a slot. One or more teeth are positioned along the strap retaining portion and extend into the slot. At least one tooth is positioned along an inner edge of the strap retaining portion. The buckle assembly may further include a first mating portion and a second mating portion, each having the strap retaining portion, that engage with a centrally-positioned housing.
