  • Publication number: 20090014565
Abstract: The present invention is generally related to an apparatus having cutter elements for destroying articles such as paper sheets and a mechanism for advancing at least a top sheet from a stack of paper in a tray into the cutter elements for shredding. In one embodiment, the apparatus uses a rotatable feed roller to feed paper atop the stack to the cutter elements. The feed roller moves in an alternating manner between a lowered and raised position to engage and disengage the stack when advancing the paper therethrough. Alternatively, a rotatable cam may be used. In an embodiment, the apparatus uses a rotatable drum or rotatable belt with an internal vacuum to lift paper from the stack and feed into the shredder mechanism.

Abstract: Automatic dosage unit comprising storage unit, conic grinder driven by a motor, identification unit, funnel, fastener, and locking device, arranged to grind a programmed amount of a given product directly into a specific collection unit. E.g. in connection with the storage unit being filled with coffee beans, a caffetier is inserted into the fastening mechanism, whereupon the dosage unit automatically registers the size of the caffetier and a pre-programmed amount of coffee is ground directly into the caffetier. The new in this invention is that it can identify the size of the collection unit, that the product is ground directly into the collection unit by means of a hollow drive shaft, that the storage unit is opened upon installation and closed upon de-installation, as well as that the collection unit is fastened by the dosage unit for the entire duration of the grinding process.

Abstract: The invention includes a rock crushing machine and method, the machine having a base and a jaw assembly secured to the base. The jaw assembly is adapted to receive rock as input material to be at least partially crushed. The jaw assembly is provided with an arcuate reaction surface that progressively engages the input material. A hollow crushing roll has an axial inner chamber that has an axis of symmetry (O). The crushing roll is a driven member that has an outside surface which forms a crushing zone between it and the reaction surface of the jaw assembly. Positioned at least partially within the crushing roll, an eccentric shaft serves as a driving member. The eccentric shaft has an axis of rotation (E), that axis being displaced from the axis (O) by a distance (T). A drive mechanism is coupled to the eccentric shaft so that as the eccentric shaft turns, rotational and centrifugal forces can be transmitted to the crushing roll by a torque transmitting device or other roll drive torque biasing mechanism.

  • Patent number: 7172144
Abstract: The system for measuring wear in a grinding mill has at least one bolt passing through the shell and a wear plate. The bolt has an elongated oblong-shaped bolt head extending through the wear plate, flush with a surface of the wear plate. The bolt head is exposed to a same abrasion as the wear plate. The bolt has a groove there along and a plurality of wire loops embedded in that groove. Each wire loop extends to a distinct point along the bolt head, such as to form a ruler along the bolt head. A mobile transmitter-receiver is mounted to the stem of the bolt and is connected to the wire loops. The mobile transmitter-receiver has electronic circuitry therein for detecting broken loop conditions and for transmitting these conditions to a remote receiver where the conditions are related to degrees of wear on the wear plate.

  • Patent number: 7150422
Abstract: This invention discloses a paper shredder having a manual paper pressing device, where the paper shredder is provided at a rear end thereof with an aperture, including: a large-size presser disposed beneath the paper shredder and having a connecting shaft at an end thereof, the connecting shaft passing through the aperture provided at the rear end of the paper shredder to movably pivot to a presser rod, the presser rod being rotatable about the pivoting location, wherein when the presser rod is levered upwards from a horizontal position about the pivoting location to a vertical position and then pressed downwards, the large-size presser is activated to compact the paper chips in the basket or bin directly so as to reduce space occupied by the paper chips and to increase capacity of the basket or bin. After the force for causing the presser rod downwards vanishes, the presser rod would recover to its original position due to recovering force exerted by a spring.

Then alternate back-and-forth rotation of the poking rods controls the volume of wooden debris falling down, and at the same time ax-shaped knives at outer ends of the poking rods rotates also back and forth alternately to break bridged conditions of wooden debris to let wooden debris smoothly fall down through a feeding hole. Then a cutting device with a cutter is provided on a material room of a feeding device to cut wooden debris in bridged conditions in an upper portion of the material room to let it fall down in a lower portion. • Patent number: 7059551
Abstract: In an assembly including a diesel engine, a fluid coupling connected to the flywheel of the diesel engine, a comminuting machine and a conveyor for feeding the comminuting machine, a fluid coupling module is common to various output power train assemblies. Slip speed of the fluid coupling between impeller input and runner output shafts is measured, and modulates or regulates the process feed rate of the conveyer. An electrically actuated control valve acts as an oil flow diverter valve directing oil into the fluid coupling impeller when a signal to engage the coupling is given, and in response to a signal from an over-temperature sensor when the temperature of circuit oil leaving the element exceeds a preset set point value, diverts the oil to a reservoir, thereby permitting the impeller and runner cavity to evacuate, which separates the engine from the load.

Abstract: A bale processor with a processing chamber includes a manipulator driven by a drive system that includes a hydraulic motor. The hydraulic motor of the drive system drives a drive shaft with an axis of rotation offset from a driven shaft of the manipulator. A rotation transmission mechanism allows a higher torque to be applied to the manipulator than may be applied by the hydraulic motor alone and, thereby, leads to improved performance for the bale processor. Additionally, the hydraulic motor may be sized such that the peak allowable pressure of the hydraulic motor is higher than the peak output pressure of the power source used to drive the hydraulic motor.

  • Patent number: 6981666
Abstract: Improved methods for producing titanium dioxide slurries. The output from a micronizer is passed through a condenser to condense the steam and form an aqueous slurry of titanium dioxide, which can in most cases then be further concentrated as desired or which can be sold or used without further concentration, instead of passing the micronizer output to apparatus for separating the TiO2 from the steam, as is currently practiced in the art. The resultant slurry from the condenser is in a further refinement preferably sent to an agitated storage tank together with dispersant and anti-settling compounds to aid in preventing settling of the titanium dioxide solids out of the slurry. To help facilitate condensation of the steam/pigment mixture sent to the condenser, a portion of the condensed slurry is in yet a further refinement pumped from the slurry storage tank to a heat exchanger. The output from the heat exchanger is then fed to the condenser to facilitate the condensing of the steam in the condenser.
