  • Patent number: 11819855
Abstract: A jaw crusher includes a stationary crusher jaw and a movable crusher jaw between which a crushing chamber and a crushing gap are formed. The movable crusher jaw can be driven by a crusher drive to generate a crushing motion. An overload protection mechanism includes a control unit, which, in the event of an overload, causes the crusher jaws to move relative to one another in such a way that the crushing gap is enlarged. An actuator unit is driven by the kinetic energy of a driven component of the jaw crusher, in particular the flywheels or the crusher drive driving the flywheels and the movable crusher jaw. At least one actuator is acted upon by the actuator unit using a transfer medium to effect the gap adjustment.

  • Patent number: 7249724
Abstract: An apparatus for destroying compact discs includes a base and a cover. The base has a mounting fixture capable of holding a CD and an anvil projecting upwardly from the base bottom panel. The cover is hingedly attached to one of the base walls such that the cover can assume an open position in which the apparatus interior is accessible and a closed position in which the apparatus interior is inaccessible. The cover has one or more scatter shields projecting downwardly from the cover such that, in the cover's closed position, the scatter shields prevent the apparatus interior contents from escaping. The cover further includes a compressor projecting downwardly from the cover top panel. In operation, mounting a CD in the mounting fixture and urging the cover from the open position to the closed position induces the compressor to urge the CD against the anvil to shatter the CD.

Abstract: A diverter valve housing has two outlets and one inlet for receiving a flow of air conveying a continuous strip of material, and a diverter duct or tube is pivotally supported within the housing on a pivot axis adjacent the inlet. The diverter tube has an outlet end portion supporting a pair of inclined cutting blades which cooperate with a cutting blade supported by the housing between the outlets for alternately and quickly chopping or cutting the strip of material when the outlet end portion of the diverter tube pivots between the two outlets of the housing. Sealing members connect the diverter tube to the housing and form stops for the diverter tube. A fluid cylinder is pivotally connected to the housing and has a piston rod pivotally connected to the diverter tube for rapidly pivoting the diverter tube between the two outlets.
