  • Patent number: 8646718
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for storing a flexible conduit, such as an electrical cord of a set of personal head phones or similar. The device has a body and a drum rotationally coupled to the body. The drum is biased to rotate in a first direction. A latch movable between a latched position and an unlatched position prevents rotation of the drum in the first direction when the latch is in the latched position. The body has an opening for positioning a portion of flexible conduit. At least one coupling disposed on the drum extends into the opening for catching a portion of a flexible conduit positioned within the opening. When the latch is in the unlatched position the drum rotates in the first direction to cycle the coupling through the opening. A coupling catches a flexible conduit positioned within the opening to wind the flexible conduit onto the drum.

  • Patent number: 7677489
Abstract: The wire caddy is designed to hold single or multiple spools of electrical wire commonly used in the building trades. This device allows wire spools to be inserted onto a support shaft and retained onto the support shaft by insertion of a retaining pin through retaining pin holes in the end of the support shaft. Wire is guided off the spool through a guide hole in the support bracket. The diameter of the support shaft is smaller than the diameter of the wire spool end plate center holes. The center line of the support shaft is positioned higher than the center line of the wire spool end plate holes. This creates a gap between the bottom of the support shaft and the edge of the wire spool hole. Thereby the wire spool is resting on and supported by the friction plate, and not the support shaft. Upon applying an upward pulling force, the wire spool is lifted off the friction plate allowing for uncoiling of the wire.

  • Patent number: 5836536
Abstract: The invention relates to an assembly for storing lengths of cables, chains, or conduits wound on a spool. The assembly has a stationary portion that supports a motor and a removable portion that supports a spool for receiving a length of a cable, chain or conduit. The motor is operationally connected to a sprocket wheel, which forms a part of the stationary portion, and when the sprocket wheel is moved into engagement with the chain fitted on the spool, the rotating force is transmitted to the spool, allowing winding of the cable, chain or conduit thereon. Any number of removable portions can be used for winding of a predetermined length of cables, chains, or conduits using the same stationary portion.

  • Patent number: 5622319
Abstract: Portable water jetting apparatus is disclosed comprising a longitudinally collapsible cart having wheels at one end and a handle at the other, a water jetter unit removably mounted on the cart adjacent the wheeled end thereof, and a jetter hose reel unit mounted on the cart adjacent the handle end thereof. Both the water jetter unit and hose reel unit are adapted to be quickly and selectively disconnected from the cart to facilitate use, transportation, and/or storage of the apparatus, and the hose reel unit is pivotally mounted on the cart for selective orientation of the reel axis relative to the cart and thus the direction of winding or unwinding of the jetter hose therefrom during use of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5551645
Abstract: A fishing rod reel respooling device is disclosed having a hand crank for taking up line from a fishing rod reel and tensioning devices for controlling the paying out of line from the spool. A horizontally adjustable base plate has a pair of arms having pieces rising vertically therefrom that retain a line-bearing spool therebetween. The hand crank passes through both arms and the spool. A line alignment bolt having a line guide therethrough passes through both arms so as to control the paying out or taking up of line from the spool. The arms are adjustable to accommodate a great variety of different sizes of spools via arcuately adjustable hinges, a variety of corresponding holes in the arms for the hand crank and line alignment bolt, and slots in the arm which enable the two arms to move towards or away from each other to a desired adjustment width. A suction cup retains the base of the respooling device to any flat, relatively smooth surface.

  • Patent number: 5544839
Abstract: A spool holder for holding a spool and transferring a quantity of line under tension between the spool and a reel. The holder is a generally U-shaped member having a horizontal bottom wall and vertical side walls fixed in laterally spaced relation and each side wall has a circular aperture therethrough in horizontal axial alignment. Suction cups on the underside of the bottom wall releasably secure the holder to a support surface. A shaft is received through the bore of the spool and is frictionally engaged therein and has opposed ends rotatably mounted in the side wall apertures to rotate relative thereto such that the spool and shaft rotate as a single unit. Resilient members may be installed on the shaft for adapting the shaft to frictionally engage different size bores.
