Coil Diameter Sensor Patents (Class 242/419.2)
  • Patent number: 10457515
Abstract: The invention provides a paper conveyance mechanism capable of curl correction of paper drawn out from roll paper according to the intensity of curl. The paper conveyance mechanism comprises an ironing part for correcting paper curl which is brought into contact with an outer surface of the paper, a pressing part which presses the paper from one side to bend the paper at the ironing part, and an arm engaged with an outer circumferential surface of the roll paper to be operated according to a change in a roll diameter. An upstream-side pressing part is moved from the one side toward the other side in association with an operation of the arm during at least part of a period of the operation of the arm to reduce an ironing angle formed in the paper bent at the ironing part according to a decrease in the roll diameter.

  • Patent number: 10220642
Abstract: A print apparatus has a supporting section for supporting a roll of a continuous sheet, a driving mechanism having a motor for rotating the roll supported by the supporting section, a detection unit configured to detect a rotation state of the roll supported by the supporting section, a conveyance roller for conveying the continuous sheet drawn out from the roll and a print unit configured to form an image on the continuous sheet conveyed by the conveyance roller. A control unit is configured to obtain information indicating a moment of inertia of the roll supported by the supporting section based on detected values of the detection unit and to adjust a driving torque of the motor based on the obtained information, intermittently during printing.

  • Patent number: 8864059
Abstract: A printing device includes a first roller for rotatably retaining a roll body where a medium is rolled, a first motor for rotating the first roller, a second roller installed further to the downstream side of the roll body in the feeding direction of the medium to feed the medium in the feeding direction or in a reverse feeding direction which is opposite to the feeding direction corresponding to the rotating direction, a second motor for rotating the second roller, and a controller which causes the medium to become slack the first roller and the second roller by feeding the medium by a predetermined feeding amount in the reverse feeding direction by the second motor, and then rotates the roll body in a winding-up direction by the first motor so that the slackness decreases to calculate the diameter of the roll body based on the rotation amount of the first roller at that time and the predetermined feeding amount.

  • Patent number: 6375112
Abstract: A device for winding conical cross-wound bobbins has a creel pivotably mounted about a pivot axis and receiving the conical bobbin, a yarn guide traversing alongside the creel, and a yarn accumulator adapted to accumulate and pay-out a stored length of yarn. The prevailing instantaneous driven diameter (da) of the cross-wound bobbin (24) is detected by a first sensor device (48, 48′), the prevailing instantaneous position and/or the direction of travel of the yarn guide (36) is detected by a second sensor device (50, 50′), and the sensor devices (48, 48′, 50, 50′) are connected to a control device (46) which supplies a control signal for a drive (40) of the yarn accumulator (32) as a function of the signals supplied.

  • Patent number: 6240974
Abstract: The tension of catch selvage yarns reeling off a yarn supply spool is kept constant by applying a braking force to the supply spool by a disk brake. The brake has a brake disk (12) rotating with the yarn supply spool (1′) and a position variable brake component (20) which is responsive in its instantaneous position to the instantaneous diameter of a yarn supply on the supply spool (1′) as sensed by a yarn follower (8) such as a roller that contacts the yarn on the spool, preferably under a spring bias.
