  • Patent number: 10533341
Abstract: Method and apparatus for an assembly which is attachable to a skid-steer or similar front end loader or tractor which is used to install fence wire. The assembly contains a plurality of spindles upon which rolls of wire can be placed, which wire passes through a threader which organizes and separates the wire, then through a clamping device operated hydraulically using electric and hydraulic controllers, then over a roller and around an upright wire guide whereupon the wire is attached to a fence post in a conventional manner. The wire is clamped using a clamping member operated by a hydraulic cylinder to clamp and lock the wire so that the wire can be stretched by the engine powered skid-steer, front end loader or the like so that the wire can be tightly attached to each fence post in a series operation. The plurality of spindles is disposed on an upright central stanchion attached to a platform so that the wire can be easily placed on and removed from the spindle.

  • Patent number: 9775749
Abstract: A method for mechanically deforming, such as by bonding, a substrate assembly. The substrate assembly may be advanced at first velocity toward a bonder apparatus. The bonder apparatus may rotate at a second velocity, which is less than or equal to the first velocity. The bonder apparatus may include a support surface and a process assembly. The substrate assembly may be contracted prior to advancing onto the bonder apparatus. A first process assembly may receive a leading portion of the substrate assembly and a subsequent process assembly may receive a trailing portion. The leading portion and the trailing portion define a product arc length, which is less than or equal to a process product pitch. One or more processes may be performed on the substrate assembly.

  • Patent number: 7458540
Abstract: A system and process for unwinding materials in forming absorbent articles is described. The system includes an unwind device in association with a festoon. The festoon is for accumulating a determined length of material. The amount of material contained in the festoon is increased or decreased depending upon the rate at which a roll of material is unwound in relation to the rate at which the first material is fed into a downstream process. In order to minimize the capacity of the festoon and in order to minimize tension swings in the festoon, the festoon includes a plurality of drive devices associated with selected guide rolls contained in the festoon. The drive devices can accelerate and/or decelerate the guide rolls in response to rate increases or decreases occurring at the unwind device in relation to the downstream process speed. In one embodiment, each of the guide rolls is controlled independently of the remaining guide rolls in the festoon.

Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus for winding conductive wires for a stator of an electric motor. In one embodiment, a hysteretic tensioning apparatus is utilizing to substantially stabilize tension in a conductive wire supplied to a winding machine. The hysteretic tensioning apparatus includes a support member, a brake member, and four idler arms. The brake member is rotatably mounted to the brake member and configured to engage the conductive wire. The idler arms each are spring mounted to the support member and also are configured to engage the conductive wire. The conductive wire is extended across the support member so that it extends between adjacent idler arms and the brake and is inserted into the winding machine.

Abstract: A tension apparatus having a mechanical section, storage unit, output torque calculation section, and exciting current calculation section is disclosed. The mechanical section has an electromagnetic brake driven by an exciting current to generate an output torque and applies a tension to a material in continuous form, which is being wound and stretched, in accordance with the output torque of the electromagnetic brake. The storage unit stores actually measured characteristics between an exciting current value and the output torque of the electromagnetic brake in advance. The output torque calculation section obtains the output torque of the electromagnetic brake in correspondence with an input tension instruction value. The exciting current calculation section obtains an exciting current value of an exciting coil, which is necessary to generate the output torque of the electromagnetic brake, by looking up the storage unit.

  • Patent number: 6186434
Abstract: A tension apparatus includes a mechanical section, signal output section, smoothing circuit, maximum value holding circuit, constant current driving circuit, and discharge circuit. The mechanical section has an electromagnetic brake driven by an exciting current to generate an output torque and applies a tension to a material in continuous form which is being wounded and stretched by the output torque of the electromagnetic brake. The signal output section repeatedly outputs a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) signal having a duty ratio corresponding to an input tension instruction value before and after a predetermined stop period. The smoothing circuit smoothes the PWM signal from the signal output section. The maximum value holding circuit holds a maximum voltage value of the smoothed PWM signal. The constant current driving circuit supplies an exciting current corresponding to the held maximum voltage value to the electromagnetic brake.

  • Patent number: RE37345
Abstract: A multi-purpose laminating and adhesive transfer apparatus having a frame supporting rotatably engaging nip rollers. The frame and has upper and lower feed rolls which may be a laminate, film or paper, or an adhesively coated film or a film having an affinity for adhesive. The upper and lower feed rolls containing the webs of laminating or adhesive transfer material have tensioning caps which can be adjusted to provide the proper tensioning to prevent the rollers from overrunning as they rotate. The tensioning caps are pre-set and provided to the user. A cutter blade is positioned at the discharge side of the nip rollers and may be actuated to sever the master at any desired location. The apparatus may be operated to apply lamination to either top or bottom surfaces of a substrate.
