By Shifting The Traversing Stroke Of Guide Patents (Class 242/477.2)
  • Patent number: 7378813
Abstract: A system for determining a zero position of a yarn guide (25) of a textile winding device for cross-winding yarn into cheeses via a step motor (34). The yarn guide (25), acted upon by the step motor (34), is initially displaced in the direction of its zero position (NS) and positioned at a slow speed against a defined detent (15) downstream of the zero position (NS). Then, the step motor (34) is switched off, causing the rotor (41) of the step motor (34) to drop into one of two possible stop positions (RS1, RS2). Subsequently, the step motor (34) is switched on by an electrical current supply to its stator windings (20A, 20B) such that, when switched off, the rotor (41) of the step motor (34) is in the stop position (RS2) in which the yarn guide (25) is in its zero position (NS).

  • Patent number: 7163174
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for winding a yarn package, wherein an advancing yarn is reciprocated by means of a traversing yarn guide within a traverse stroke, and deposited on the yarn package. To avoid high package edges, the traverse stroke of the traversing yarn guide is variable in its length within the width of the yarn package during the winding operation. The length variations of the traverse stroke occur during the winding cycle by a predetermined stroke modification function, which is determined from a mass distribution of the yarn on a hypothetically wound, ideal yarn package, so that it is possible to produce a predetermined package density of the yarn package.

  • Patent number: 6523774
Abstract: A method and apparatus for winding a continuously advancing yarn, wherein the yarn is wound on a driven tube to a cross wound package. The yarn is reciprocated by means of a traversing yarn guide within a traverse stroke which is variable in its length within the package width of the cross wound package. During the winding cycle, the traverse stroke is varied between a maximum length at the beginning of the winding cycle and an end length at the end of the winding cycle by a predetermined stroke function in such a manner that in the course of the winding cycle, a certain length is associated to each traverse stroke, with the lengths of the traverse strokes being smaller than the respective wound package widths then being formed.

  • Patent number: 6505791
Abstract: A textile machine thread traversing device includes a traversing arm and a holding device to retain the arm as it moves in a back and forth motion. A drive mechanism is connected to the holding device to rotate the holding device relative to a turning axis. A programmable control system is configured with the drive mechanism and includes a detecting device disposed to detect the angular position of the traversing arm and to control the drive mechanism as a function of the angular position.

  • Publication number: 20020011538
Abstract: The method for producing cheeses of the random winding type, wherein the workstations of an automatic cheese winder comprise a winding device with a yarn guide drum and a creel, both supported in an axially shiftable relation to each other, the creel holding the cheese in a rotatable manner and the yarn guide drum driving the cheese through frictional engagement, a ribbon disturbance device and an edge displacement device. The ribbon disturbance device causes a slippage by a defined adjustment of the bearing pressure of the cheese on the yarn guide drum. Relative movements between the yarn guide drum and the creel are initiated in the area of ribbon winding zones which counteract a stroke change caused by the ribbon disturbance during the winding of the yarn onto the cheese.

  • Patent number: 6308907
Abstract: A method and apparatus for winding a continuously advancing yarn to a package formed on a tubular core, wherein a traversing yarn guide reciprocates the yarn within a traverse stroke and deposits it on the package at an angle of crossing. For its reversal at the ends of the traverse stroke, the traversing yarn guide is decelerated within each reversal range by a finite deceleration from a guiding speed and is again accelerated to the guiding speed by a finite acceleration. The acceleration and deceleration of the traversing yarn guide are controlled in such a manner that the reversal ranges of the traverse strokes become greater in length as the diameter of the package increases.

  • Patent number: 6283401
Abstract: A method and apparatus for winding a continuously advancing yarn, wherein the yarn is wound on a driven tube to a cross-wound package, with the yarn being reciprocated by a traversing yarn guide within a traverse stroke. The length of the traverse stroke is periodically changed, each time with a modified stroke cycle, with the yarn being deposited at the beginning of the modified stroke cycle in a starting reversal point on the outer edge of the cross-wound package. To prevent the yarn from being deposited on the circumference of the package at the same point after completion of the modified stroke cycle, the speed and/or the traverse stroke of the traversing yarn guide are controlled such that after completing the modified stroke cycle, the yarn is deposited at an end reversal point on the outer edge of the cross-wound package which is offset from the starting reversal point at the beginning of the modified stroke cycle.

At the beginning of each traverse stroke, the yarn guide is accelerated within a reversal length to a guiding speed, and after traversing the traverse length it is decelerated within a second reversal length.
