Take-up Rotational Speed Patents (Class 242/477.8)
  • Patent number: 7762491
Abstract: In a process for winding a continuously supplied band (5) onto a bobbin (2), with the bobbin (2) being rotated and the band (5) being reciprocated along the entire length of the bobbin (2) at a winding angle (?) by means of a cross-winding device (4), each time the bobbin diameter has increased by a particular value, the winding ratio, i.e., the ratio between the number of bobbin rotations and the reciprocating motion (to-and-fro stroke) of the cross-winding device is stepwisely changed such that the winding ratio will change in essentially integral steps.

  • Patent number: 6540172
Abstract: A method for producing cheeses of the random winding type, wherein the workstations of an automatic cheese winder comprise a winding device with a yarn guide drum and a creel, both supported in an axially shiftable relation to each other, the creel holding the cheese in a rotatable manner and the yarn guide drum driving the cheese through frictional engagement, a ribbon disturbance device and an edge displacement device. The ribbon disturbance device causes a slippage by a defined adjustment of the bearing pressure of the cheese on the yarn guide drum. Relative movements between the yarn guide drum and the creel are initiated in the area of ribbon winding zones which counteract a stroke change caused by the ribbon disturbance during the winding of the yarn onto the cheese.

  • Patent number: 6409117
Abstract: The present invention includes systems and methods for monitoring the spooling area of a rotatable reel for winding or unwinding an elongated material, for example, a cable. The monitoring system has a detector for sensing the presence and position of a cable surface or object or operator positioned between the detector and the reel. The detector can control rotation of the reel directly, or send a position signal to a computer where the position signal indicates the detected presence and/or position. The computer can have a memory and/or a processor for respectively storing and analyzing the position signal. The computer is operative to compare the position signal to previously received position signals to determine a condition, for example, the amount of cable on the reel, the presence of any object, and/or the existence of a safety-threatening condition. The computer can generate an output signal for use in, for example, controlling the reel speed and/or torque, or the application of brakes.

  • Patent number: 6405965
Abstract: In the winding of cheeses with a random pattern in a bobbin winding machine, a pattern disruption is performed during a passage through a pattern zone, and the actual diameter of the cheese (10) is determined by calculating the course of the increase of the cheese diameter to be expected and adding the expected increases in diameter occurring while winding through the pattern zones to the diameter of the cheese (10) calculated prior to reaching the pattern zone from the ratio of the number of revolutions of the cheese (10) and the winding drum (13) to the diameter of the winding drum (13).

  • Patent number: 6402080
Abstract: In the case of an open-end spinning machine, threads are wound onto bobbins with random crosswinding. A so-called antipatterning is hereby necessary, which is usually achieved by so-called wobbling. During wobbling, the speed of the winding shaft and/or the speed of the traverse gearing is periodically altered. A first variable speed motor is provided for driving the winding shaft and a second variable speed motor is provided for driving the traverse gearing. A control device controls the variable speed motors and sets the wobble curves. The constant delivery speed of the yarn withdrawal shaft, on which a speed transmitter is disposed, serves as the master speed for the control device.

  • Patent number: 6206320
Abstract: A method for operating a cheese-producing textile machine which produces cheeses of the “random winding” type, wherein the contact pressure of the cheese on the yarn guiding cylinder is reduced and the cheese is simultaneously charged with a braking torque for preventing pattern windings. The angular velocity w of the cheese (4) is continuously determined and processed in a control device (18) such that, when or shortly prior to reaching a so-called pattern winding zone (BWZ), the angular velocity w1 determined by the diameter d1 of the cheese (4) is reduced by means of the definite adjustment of the contact pressure with which the cheese (4) rests on the yarn guiding cylinder (3), to an angular velocity w2 which lies below the angular velocity wk of a cheese of the critical diameter dk, driven without slippage, which causes pattern winding.
