Edge-to-edge (e.g., Scissor Type) Patents (Class 242/527.5)
  • Patent number: 11111095
Abstract: An apparatus and method for supporting sheet material, comprising a frame including a first arm and a second arm, the second arm in communication with the first arm to support a roll of the sheet material there-between, and a drive roller for transporting the sheet material from the roll. The first arm and the second arm automatically resize the frame corresponding to the dimensions of the roll of the sheet material to provide constant tension in the roll of sheet material by controlling a position of the roll of the sheet material.

  • Patent number: 10752458
Abstract: A media roll holder assembly a web-based printing system comprises a support for rotatably supporting the roll in an operative position, a holding element for rotatably holding the roll on the support, and a pivotable arm on which the holding element is provided. The pivotable arm is formed and positioned to position the holding element on the roll, such that a lifting force for lifting the roll from the support results in a holding force on the holding element in the first angular direction for holding the roll in the operative position on the support. The roll is then rotatably secured in its operative without excess angular forces acting on the roll. As the rotation of the roll is substantially unimpeded, the medium may be transported with great precision, resulting in high quality printing.

  • Patent number: 10443188
Abstract: Processes for cutting carpet tiles that when abutted, have a seamless appearance. The processes cut an extended length of carpet into individual tiles through the backing of the carpet, thus not disturbing the pile of the carpet, resulting in reduced visibility of the seam between abutting carpet tiles. The processes include cutting the carpet crosswise, through the backing, to form strips, and then cutting the strips, through the backing, to form tiles.

  • Publication number: 20150014467
Abstract: Method for coiling and on-line inspection of a continuously-rolled metal strip, involving a step of continuous coiling on at least one mandrel (10, 20) of a coiling station (3), preferably of carousel type, characterized by at least the following steps: the strip is cut by a shears (4) situated before the coiling station, advances over a certain length on an insertion table (6) so as to at least partially cover this table and is then cut a second time by the shears (4) in order to obtain a specimen;—the coiling of the coil performed (1, 1?, 1?, etc.

  • Publication number: 20040245366
Abstract: Device for continuous winding of webs onto winding shafts or winding cores to winding rollers, consisting of arms supporting the winding shaft that, or a pressure roller that can be engaged on the winding shaft or winding core, or the forming winding roller, respectively, which is supported in a frame and with a knife separating the web during a roller change. In order to be able to engage the pressure roller with the winding core or winding roller in a low in friction and sensitive manner by means of a drive, the pressure roller is supported on at least one steering rod, which is pivot-connected to two guides, the other ends of which are pivot-supported in the frame.

  • Patent number: 6629662
Abstract: A carpet rolling machine for quickly and efficiently rolling carpet around a core without causing damage to the carpet. The machine includes a moveable dispenser for applying an adhesive flap to the core prior to winding the carpet around the core. The leading edge of the carpet is positioned between the flap and the core so that it may attach to the adhesive on the interior surface of the flap. Once the leading edge of the carpet is properly positioned, the carpet is wound around the core by a roll up.
