  • Patent number: 9707136
Abstract: An equine bandage wrapping device includes a motor with a rotating drive shaft mounted on a hinged bracket. A forked spindle coupled to the motor engages the bandage. The hinged bracket pivots in response to external force causing a torque on the hinge. The external force is supplied by the user pulling slightly against the bandage while it is secured to the forks. Such force is resisted by a spring disposed between a base plate and the underside of the floating end of the hinged bracket. If sufficient force is applied to overcome the spring force, then the electrical circuit between the motor and power source is closed, resulting in the motor turning on. The circuit is opened by removing the external force to cause the spring to return to its extended position, resulting in the motor stopping movement.

Abstract: A web winding device (not shown) is disposed in a downstream side from a slitter (not shown) in a web transporting direction. Spacers 34 for positioning and winding cores 33 are mounted alternately to a first winding shaft 26 of the web winding device. Each spacer 34 includes a spacer body 57 being in contact with a peripheral surface of the first winding shaft 26 and contact members 58 being in contact with the winding cores 33 on both sides of the spacer body 57. The contact member 58 is held by a contact member holding recess 59 provided in the spacer body 57. A plurality of resin rollers 62 are disposed between the contact member 58 and the contact member holding recess 59. Thereby, the contact member 58 is rotatably held relative to the spacer body 57. Since each winding core 33 can be rotated independently, it is possible to wind webs at a stable winding tension.

Abstract: A method and apparatus of forming coreless rolls of pressure sensitive adhesive tape involves the use of a mandrel assembly having a specific circumferential tape supporting segment thereon for winding tape. The circumferential tape supporting segment has a tape engaging surface portion that, in a radial orientation, is compressible yet sufficiently stiff to support the tape as it is successively wound about the mandrel to form a tape roll, and that is sufficiently pliant to permit ready axial removal of a wound tape roll from the shaft.
