  • Patent number: 5850982
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for the winding of a knitted material web which is being delivered from a warp knitting machine to a material roll by using an axial drive which is being regulated by sensors which measure the tension in the material web. For the purpose of winding a knitted elastic material, a spreader roller is arranged adjacent to the run-on site of the web onto the material roll and is held there with a constant gap. In order to maintain an essentially constant gap between the spreader roller and the material roll, the spreader roller undergoes a relative shifting along a radial guide.

  • Patent number: 5775622
Abstract: A warp formed of a multiplicity of parallel filaments is wound on a warp beam by an apparatus having a supply of the warp, a transport roller, and an adjustment roller adjacent the transport roller and movable between a holding position engaging the transport roller and a winding position spaced therefrom. The warp extends from the supply along a path around the transport roller, hen around the adjustment roller, and then around the warp beam. The beam and transport roller are rotated to displace the warp along the path and wind it up on the beam while maintaining the adjustment roller in the winding position. Tension is detected in the warp at least during winding of the warp on the beam and the adjustment roller is displaced during winding of the warp on the beam in a predetermined first direction transverse to the path to increase and decrease the tension to maintain the tension within a predetermined range when the adjustment roller is not in the holding position.

  • Patent number: 5713534
Abstract: A web winding and severing apparatus using a linear carriage arrangement wherein the cores are positioned relative to feed to a winding drum in a bilateral manner such that a core is always adjacent to the drum ready to receive the leading edge of the web. A pair of reciprocating carriages are mounted on a frame which supports a winding drum for rotation. The carriages movement relative to the drum is independent, yet coordinated such that as one carriage carries a filling winding core, the other stands ready on the opposite side of the winding drum with an empty core. As the web is severed the second carriage positions its core to become the winding core and the first carriage moves away to off-load the full core, then, returns to a ready position with a fresh core.

  • Patent number: 5636811
Abstract: A strapping reclaimer includes a strapping feeder. There is a strapping joining station adjacent the feeder. A strapping reeling apparatus is adjacent the strapping joining station. Preferably the feeder includes a strapping straightener. The strapping joining station may include a pair of spaced-apart clamps. Preferably there is a member with a strapping receiving surface extending between the clamps. The member may have two portions mounted for moving apart to stretch joined lengths of strapping or to adjust gaps or degrees of overlapping therebetween. Strapping is reclaimed by feeding lengths of strapping successively to the work area. Adjacent lengths of strapping are joined together. Abstract: A film receptacle for winding a long length of film including a film box having an entrance for admitting a film and a winding member provided in the film box. The winding member including a curled holding portion for winding the film admitted through the entrance and holding for a roll of the film thus wound. The holding portion has a resilience to an expanding force of the film roll in the holding portion, and the resilience is such that the increase in the radius of curvature of the holding portion when the film is wound one turn in the holding portion is substantially equal to the thickness of the film. Thus, newly entering film is wound over the roll of the already wound film, and no slip or friction occurs within the film roll, which facilitates continuous admission of a long length of film at a constant force.

  • Patent number: 5374006
Abstract: A substrate capable of being wound is transported to a substrate carrier and wound onto the latter. For that purpose the substrate is first held in a defined storage position. With the substrate in that storage position the substrate carrier is moved into a threading position and brought into engagement with the substrate. The substrate is then automatically threaded around the substrate carrier. When the threading operation is complete, the substrate carrier is moved into a winding position in which the substrate is wound onto the substrate carrier. The rate of feed at which the substrate is transported by a motor to the substrate carrier is regulatable. The substrate carrier is motor-driven in a controllable manner, at a uniform torque and in dependence on the feed rate at which the substrate is transported to the substrate carrier.
