Abstract: A vertically adjustable jack plate configured to attach an outboard motor (or analogous device) to the transom of a marine vessel. A transom bracket is provided for connection to the vessel. A motor mounting plate is connected to the transom bracket. A lift jack vertically adjusts the position of the motor mounting plate with respect to the transom bracket. The lift jack incorporates a drive shaft that is used to vary an amount of extension or the lift jack. A handle is provided on the drive shaft. In operation, the user must preferably engage the handle to the drive shaft in order to turn the drive shaft. In a preferred embodiment the user must push the handle inward toward the lift jack in order to engage the handle to the drive shaft.

Abstract: A idiophone assembly for attachment to a rim or side of a drum comprising a idiophone, one or more quick release drum rim clamps and one or more fasteners and, as applicable, associated bosses for securing the clamps to the instrument is described. Advantageously, the assembly can be easily secured to the rim of a drum and easily removed from the drum as desired. In some variations, rubber insulating spacers are provided that at least partially acoustically isolate the instrument from the drum. The assembly is often positioned where it can be struck independently or in unison with the drum head to produce a rimshot or cross stick. A flexible drum stick is also described having two striking ends and a movable handle.

Abstract: A positive locking hanging system is specifically adapted for locking a panel to a wall. The system includes a first elongated mounting member that is configured to be mountable to a wall, and a second elongated mounting member configured to be attachable to a panel. When the first elongated mounting member and the second elongated mounting member are engaged, notches in the first and second elongated mounting members are aligned to form a locking channel. A user may lock the second elongated mounting member to the first elongated mounting member (i.e., lock the panel to the wall) by inserting a locking element into the locking channel. The locking element constrains the movement of the elongated mounting members which results in the panel being locked to the wall. As a result, this may address seismic concerns such as an earthquake, and may prevent a thief from merely removing the panel from the wall when the locking element is inserted.

The handle is pushed to disengage the grippers from the racks and allow vertical motion of the display board. The adjustable display board system also comprises a display board, a linear actuator unit, and one or more pivot arms. The linear actuator unit includes a movable actuator rod and is coupled to the one or more pivot arms, which in turn is coupled to the display board. Motion of the actuator rod is converted to raising and lowering of the display board.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method are disclosed for holding a portable electronic device such as a navigation system unit, a multimedia/music player, a cellular phone, and a satellite radio. In one embodiment of the invention, a clamp enables a firm and removable attachment of a novel portable electronic device holder to a neck of a center rear view mirror in a vehicle. In an alternate embodiment, a C-clamp with a turning screw is used instead. A vertical bar or a non-straight-line-shaped extension operatively attached to the clamp is typically extendable and retractable to allow a user to adjust the novel portable electronic device holder to a comfortable length. The design of the novel portable electronic device holder does not require a use of an air suction cup or adhesive materials for a base piece attachment to a vehicle's dashboard which provides several advantages over conventional designs.

The mechanism assembly includes a cylindrical shaft that extends outward against the tension force of a spring from a housing component of the assembly. A cam mechanism within the hanging apparatus allows for locking and tightening of the clamp against the support structure after closure of the clamp under the influence of the tensioning spring.

The brackets are connected to the support element, and each bracket includes a rise indicator corresponding to a desired rise dimension and a run indicator corresponding to a desired run dimension. The alignment elements align the rise or run indicator on one of the brackets with the other of the rise or run indicator on an adjacent one of the brackets to space the brackets at a desired rise and run. The brackets each include a tread flange and a riser flange, such that a tread and a riser can be directly connected to each bracket. The brackets may include cutouts for a temporary tread system.

In addition, a storm panel assembly is provided comprising at least one storm panel and a mounting extrusion for attachment to the storm panel to provide support for the storm panel on a mounting surface, such as the side of a building.

Abstract: The present invention includes a set of reinforcement and support devices for existing or new roof, ceiling and/or floor systems together with numerous variations that may be installed into existing buildings or new buildings to help prevent separation of wood or metal roof, ceiling and/or floor systems from the concrete, masonry or other types of walls supporting these systems in commercial, industrial and/or residential buildings. One embodiment includes a set of three brackets that are installed in a triangularly shaped arrangement along a side of a primary support beam and to the wall underneath a ledger, thus anchoring the support beam to the wall of the structure and stabilizing the roof, ceiling or floor it supports. Another embodiment includes a single integrated unit that attaches to the wall underneath the ledger and to an adjacent support board, thus anchoring the support board (and the system it supports) to the wall of the structure.
