  • Patent number: 8083199
Abstract: A pool net mounting device is disclosed. The mounting device includes a pool net holding portion having a hollow cylindrical tube adapted to receive and secure a pool net in a plurality of angular orientations. The pool net mounting device also includes a mounting portion adapted to be removably attached to a cylindrical object such as a pool ladder rail. The net holding portion and the mounting portion are removably attached to each other in a variety of angular positions so that a wide range of configurations is achieved for orienting a pool debris net at a desired angular orientation and height. The net holding portion includes a number of apertures and slots therein for receiving a spring loaded pin, a common feature of pool nets. Alternative pool net attachment features are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8033362
Abstract: A caddy apparatus designed to hold paint, construction items, supplies, tools and other materials while on an extension ladder without interfering with the safety of the person standing on the ladder is herein disclosed. The apparatus uses a dimensioned dowel rod which is selectably placed through the hollow cavity of the ladder rungs and extends through to either side where it is used to support the apparatus. The apparatus comprises a ā€œUā€-shaped bracket, which is supported on the dowel rod in any one of three closely-spaced hanging tubes. The base of the bracket provides a large flat tray for use in holding materials while working on the extension ladder. The use of said caddy allows workers on extension ladders quick access to tools, supplies and materials in an efficient and safe manner.

  • Patent number: 8016076
Abstract: A climbing apparatus that rests on a surface includes a flip ladder that can move between a straight configuration and a stepladder configuration. The apparatus includes a tray having a plane attached to the flip ladder that moves with the flip ladder between the straight configuration where the tray plane is essentially parallel with the ladder in a stowed position and a stepladder configuration where the tray plane is essentially parallel with the surface in an open position. A method for climbing includes the steps of moving a flip ladder between a straight configuration and a stepladder configuration. There is the step of moving a tray having a plane attached to the flip ladder from a stowed position where the tray plane is essentially parallel with the ladder to an opened position where the tray plane is essentially parallel with the surface.

  • Patent number: 7984887
Abstract: A ladder locking device having a harness and a lock shuttle for retaining a ladder on a rack or other storage device. The harness having a pair of parallel spaced apart arms and an intermediary arm integrally formed with the spaced apart arms. The lock shuttle having a pair of harness holes adapted to receive the pair of spaced apart arms of the harness and a pair of thumb release assemblies adapted to retain the harness in the lock shuttle and to release the harness from the lock shuttle. The intermediary arm and the lock shuttle each have a flexible pad. The pad of the lock shuttle is retained in a pad holder and there is an adjustment knob in mechanical communication with the pad holder that moves the pad holder from an expanded position to a retracted position to securely retain a ladder on a storage device.

  • Patent number: 7967264
Abstract: A U-shaped bracket having an adjustable width is telescopically inserted around a side rail of the ladder by pushing the bracket onto the side rail with the open end of the bracket receiving the side rail as the bracket is pushed onto the side rail. Side walls of the bracket have extended wall portions that stick out past the rear of the side rail. A paint can holder can be telescopically inserted through a set of aligned holes in the extended wall portions to couple the paint can holder to the side rail of the ladder. A paint roller pan holder can also be telescopically inserted through a set of aligned holes in the extended wall portion to couple the paint roller pan holder to the side rail of the ladder. The paint roller pan holder includes a pivot connection to allow the portion of the holder that supports a paint roller pan to be leveled relative to the horizontal.

In both embodiments the device includes a rigid, linearly elongated member carrying a pair of projections having free ends in opposing, spaced relation, the distance between the free ends being selectively adjustable by relative movement of the projections along an axis parallel to a spaced from the axis of the elongated member. In a first described embodiment, the elongated member is formed by a pair of tubular, telescopingly engaged members with one of the projections fixedly mounted to opposite ones of the pair of members. In the preferred embodiment, the elongated member is a one-piece rod with one of the projections fixedly connected thereto and the other projection mounted to a bracket which is slidable along the rod.

  • Patent number: 7913964
Abstract: A painting pail system includes a bucket, a bucket support, and a brace for the support. The bucket has an open top. The open top has a rod mounted thereacross. The support may be a U-shaped support having a pair of arms extending from a base, where the base is mounted to the substantially vertical brace so as to extend the arms substantially horizontally from the brace. The rod is mounted at its ends to distal ends of the arms, that is, distal from the base. The upper end of the brace includes a pair of mounting hooks spaced apart laterally so as to hook over an upper rung. The brace is elongate and its lower end is adapted to engage against a lower rung. A selectively engageable third hook latches the pair of mounting hooks onto the upper rung. The bucket may be removed from the support by releasing a latch arm mounted on the support.

  • Patent number: 7905458
Abstract: A ladder accessory device includes an arm and a sleeve for engaging a hollow rung of a ladder. While installed, the sleeve is generally stationary within the hollow rung. The arm is generally is free to rotate within the sleeve about a first axis defined by length of the arm. A member engages the arm at a first joint about which the arm may rotate. A platform engages the member at a second joint about which the platform may rotate. Motion about the first axis and motion about the first joint enable the platform to be generally self-leveling in two directions while the member suspends the platform at a level lower than the arm. Range of motion of the first joint and second joint extend sufficiently to allow the arm, member and platform to be stored in a generally parallel alignment.

  • Patent number: 7845469
Abstract: A versatile, easy to use, adjustable tool, paint, accessory and supply caddy for use on an extension ladder. The caddy can be used on ladders having rungs that are either round in cross section or have steps that are flat and more rectangular in shape. Upper and lower mounting cradles attach to any consecutive rungs of the extension ladder at two separate attachments points. A quick release, spring loaded clamping mechanism allows the ladder caddy to be quickly and securely attached and then removed from the ladder, with the upper and lower mounting cradles adjustable to accommodate different ladder rung/step shapes as well as diameters and distances between rungs. Paddle shaped trays can be locked in place on the caddy in a variety of positions, and the trays can swing over or under each other or be swung in opposing directions away from the ladder user thereby creating a useable work space adaptable to almost any ladder position.
