  • Patent number: 4469194
Abstract: This application provides an attachable non-slip ladder support for and on an upper rung of a ladder with a typical stile and rung construction. This support has a shell-like member having an internal configuration which is sized and adapted for slidable mounting on this upper rung. Intermediate this shell-like member and fixedly secured to its outer surface is a resilient non-skid member which is typically of sponge-like material. This member is secured by adhesive, rivets or the like. Clamp members are used at each end of this resilient support to removably secure the support assembly to the rung in the selected desired attitude. These clamp members insure that the support is not moved during use so that the resilient portion protrudes ahead of the stiles.

  • Patent number: 4433822
Abstract: The invention disclosed provides a paint can receptacle having a circular strip horizontally disposed to receive a paint can. A J-shaped ladder grip projects tangentially from the circular strip for rail engagement by the leg portion thereof. A first pivotal pin is positioned in the vicinity of the tangential union of the J-shaped ladder grip and the circular strip and joins a downwardly projecting vertical support member to the circular strip. A second pivotal pin is positioned diametrically opposite the first pivotal pin and joins the circular strip with a vertically disposed ladder rung gripping member intermediately therealong. The ladder rung gripping member has an arcuate terminal upper edge for rung engagement. A base support member is secured between the lower edge of the ladder rung gripping member and the lower edge of the downwardly projecting verticle support member thereby providing a support surface for the bottom of a paint can.

  • Patent number: 4403368
Abstract: A flat support panel is formed to fit between the sides of a ladder and to cover two adjacent rungs of the ladder. A trapezoidal opening is cut out of the center of the support panel between the two adjacent rungs, with a base having a width equal to the diameter of a pail of paint; a height equal to the height of the pail; and a top width less than the bottom width. When the flat support panel is hung from one rung of a ladder, extending over the next lower rung, the trapezoidal opening is positioned between the sides of the ladder, and the adjacent rungs. When a pail of paint is positioned within the trapezoidal opening it is held at an angle with respect to the support panel to be in a vertical plane when the ladder is at its normal, safe angle. A bail hook may be provided above the center of the trapezoidal opening to hold the handle of the pail of paint, which is held level and rigid for painting from the ladder.
