    Abstract: The invention is a mantel or shelf made of a solid block of reclaimed wood with a hidden mounting assembly. The mantel has sufficient thickness, depth and length to accommodate an elongated L-shaped sheet metal bracket with planar horizontal and vertical flanges to allow selective lateral positioning of the mantel relative to its securement to spaced vertical wall studs. An L-shaped opening in the rear of the mantel is formed by a deep horizontal slot and a shallow vertical recess extending down from the slot. The slot is parallel to and near the top of the mantel, and receives the horizontal flange. The recess receives the vertical flange so the mantel is flush with the wall. A mounting fastener inserted into the mantel pierces the horizontal flange to capture the bracket and secure the mantel to the wall. The bracket, slot and recess are hidden from view during use.

    Abstract: A support bracket that is stable in multiple dimensions includes a flat support platform and a coupling flange connected to an end of the support platform. A mount flange is connected to an end of the coupling flange, with a hole being formed in the mount flange. An L-shaped hook member extends away from an edge of the mount flange. The hook member is advanced into a slot in a support substrate and slid until it abuts an end of the slot, with the mount flange disposed flush against the support substrate. A fastener is then advanced through the mount flange and into the support substrate. This combination of structure securely holds the bracket on the substrate.

    Abstract: A stable mountable blind shelf support is mounted upon a wall having wall studs. A blind shelf mount for a shelf includes either a mounting disk or a baseplate with fasteners and a support post, such as a hex post, and is attached by further fasteners to a wall stud. Prior to installation, the wall is marked with mounting locations on the back edge of a shelf by transferring impressions from the support post or fasteners. Lines are scribed using a carpenter's square at each location of an impressed mark; then the midpoint of thickness at each site is marked. A counterbore is formed at each marked site on the back edge of the shelf and then the location of the drilled post holes is derived. The holes thus formed accept posts formed for two or more routed recesses in registration with each other in the finished laminated built-up shelf.

The beam has two upper beam flanges and two annular channels. The upper beam flanges slide into the upper recesses of the aperture such that the rib is captured on the beam, and each rib cam flange extends into a respective one of the channels. The rib cam slides into one of the channels with one of the rib cam flanges captured in the slot. In the channel, the rib cam is rotatable around its longitudinal axis between an unlocked position and a locked position in which the slot floor bears down on the rib cam flange thereby locking the flange to the support beam.
