  • Patent number: 4183487
Abstract: A wall bracket system is disclosed which is supported on a vertical wall by a single horizontally extending wall rail. The bracket system comprises a bracket, key member and spacer member. The bracket is provided with a vertically adjustable key member which attaches to the rear surface of the bracket and supports the same by being held in a channel of the wall rail. A vertically adjustable spacer member is also provided which serves to space the lower portion of the bracket from the vertical wall. Additionally, a support member is provided which slides over and is held secure by a plurality of upwardly extending screw heads. This support member is secured to the underside of a shelf or other item to be supported by the bracket and after sliding over the protruding screw heads provides an anti-lateral displacement mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4053132
Abstract: A unitary shelf support and retainer is disclosed and includes means for mounting the unit on a cabinet wall, a surface for supporting the cabinet shelf, and an upright portion extending along the wall of the cabinet and including a smoothly curved deformable web of resilient material. As the shelf is installed, that web is deformed to a degree permitting the shelf to slip past the web to be supported by the shelf support surface. After the shelf has passed the deformable web, it returns to its original shape, owing to its resilient nature, in position to retain the shelf in place.

  • Patent number: 4018167
Abstract: A shelf assembly which is assembleable without extraneous fasteners and which may be shipped flat and ready for attachment to a pair of spaced standards. The assembly comprises an expansive shelf of formed sheet metal having an upper shelf surface portion and a lower portion which provides groups of spaced slots opening into hollows within the shelf. Shelf support brackets, each having an expansive main body portion, hooks for supporting the assembly on a standard and a pair of mounting ears integral with the bracket extend laterally from the upper regions of the bracket main body portion. The mounting ears are seated within the hollows of a corresponding group of slots. The ears on each bracket have projections by which the shelf and bracket are interconnected. At least one projection is a protuberance, the combined width of the ear and the protuberance being greater than the width of the slot portion through which that ear entered. One ear has a hook-like projection.

  • Patent number: 3994462
Abstract: A shelf couple assembly for mounting shelves on walls, wall studs, or rafters utilizes a unitary shelf-gripping couple having a protruding cantilever platform with raised rearward and forward portions and downwardly projecting barbs for fixedly supporting a shelf board between these raised portions and barbs. The assembly also incorporates a shelf trim channel that is snapped onto adjoining shelf boards to align them and to provide a visually unitary appearance. Furthermore, the assembly incorporates a rear shelf clip which may be driven into a wall-board, stud, or rafter for supporting the rearward portion of two adjoining shelf boards or for adding support to a section of shelf board that is heavily loaded. In addition, a cover is incorporated in the assembly that fits over the unitary shelf couple and thus conceals it while enhancing the overall appearance of the shelf couple assembly.
