In some embodiment, the apparatus is in the form of a quadruped, the retention mechanisms are integral to or coupled to the quadruped's legs, and the upper projections are in the form of the quadruped's arms. By a combination of common elements as lateral supports, connecting unit, lower and upper corners units, advertising support frame and hollow base advertising displays having tower shaped structures of different polygonal sides are easily assembled. The obtained display uses tongue and grooves as well as key-hole mechanisms to fastening and secured different components of the structure.

The member includes a base, a pair of axially elongated leg extending from the base to define a channel therebetween. The channel of the member has a first channel side, a channel floor and a second channel side, wherein the space location control surface may contact the member maintaining a standoff distance between the one of the lower side, the front side and the back side of the substructure and corresponding one of the channel floor, the first channel side and the second channel side of the member. A method of assembling a pi-joint assembly of the present invention is also provided.

Abstract: A sign system comprises one or more box-like modules having a front section and a corresponding rear section sized to fit together in sliding engagement to define an interior cavity. The sections may be joined together with fasteners which engage the side panels of each section thereby leaving the front and rear surfaces free of discontinuities. The sign modules may be affixed to a generally planar surface or supported on internal or external mounting posts. During installation, the rear section may be mounted first and the front section subsequently attached to the rear section. In this way only approximately one-half of the total weight of the sign need be lifted and manipulated at any one time thereby facilitating installation. The interior cavity defined by the front and rear sections may accommodate lighting means for internally lighting the sign.

Abstract: Generally speaking, this is a card positioning device which maintains a card such as a greeting card or a postcard in a standing position. The card experiences a destabilizing moment. The card positioning device has a moment resisting section to resist the destabilizing moment and maintain the card in a standing position. The moment resisting section connects to the origin end of the longitudinal fold of the card and extends along the card edges from the origin to reinforce the card edges. The moment resisting section has a foot which has a heel and toe to resist the destabilizing moment. An ornament such as a flag, character or emblem can be attached to the base of the moment resisting section. The ornament, moment resisting section and card, may be inserted into an envelope and mailed to a recipient.

One embodiment provides a display arm and a display base, wherein the display arm is pivotably connected to the base, and the arm and base have a tongue and groove arrangement, wherein the arm may be elastically deformed to connect to the base, and the arm may retain a shape that arranges the tongue and groove in a way that resists relative pivoting between the arm and base. Abstract: The present invention is directed to a picture frame holder which can accommodate a picture frame in either a vertical or horizontal orientation. The picture frame holder of the present invention includes a base with a slot and a vertical support having outwardly extending appendages, each of which has both vertical and horizontal slots aligned with the slot in the base. The appendages are spaced at a distance apart from one another which is substantially equal to the smaller dimension of the frame which it is to accommodate. Thus, it is possible to slide a picture frame into the picture frame holder using the horizontal or vertical slots which will allow the picture frame to be oriented in either a horizontal or vertical orientation.

The card holder is mounted over a card having two legs such that the card first leg is adjacent to the card holder first leg and the card second leg is adjacent to the card holder second leg. The card holders of the present invention may also accommodate signs or ornaments.

Opposing, flexible channel members are formed integral with and extend upwards from the top surface of the tape body to define a longitudinal channel, which receives and pinches the edges of the flat articles, holding the paper article on its edge. An underlying, peel-away sticker exposes an adhesive allowing the tape to be applied to a surface, whereby the flat article is situated perpendicular to the surface.

Abstract: A panel support structure for supporting a flat display panel capable of reducing the weight of the panel support structure while a sufficient structural strength is maintained and capable of preventing the display performance of the flat display panel from being lowered by a change in an ambient temperature. A flat display panel is fixedly supported by an X-character shaped supporting member via dampers fitted in the four corners of the flat display panel by the flat panel fixing parts of the supporting member. Abstract: A pole system for displaying picture frames includes a pole, mounting devices for holding the pole in a vertical position, and a plurality of sliding elements movable along the length of the pole to positions selected by the user. Each sliding element includes a connector adapted to engage a sawtooth bracket, wire, hole or other structure on the back of a picture frame. A plurality of frames can be displayed from the pole, the spacing between each of them and their relative rotational position about the pole being easily and quickly changed by the user. In the most preferred embodiment, the mounting devices include brackets for suspending the pole in a spaced apart relationship from an office furniture panel, and the sliding elements are spring steel plates with a pair of openings adapted to fit over the pole when the plate is bent into a curved position.

Abstract: A mount for a baby mirror for viewing a baby in a baby seat placed on a back seat of a motor vehicle in a rearwardly facing position. The mount includes one of the fasteners for securing the headliner of the vehicle to a roof panel. The mirror has a housing formed with a slot in the top surface. The slot is of inverted T-shape. The slot is open at the rear of the housing to permit the head of the fastener to enter the wide portion of the slot and the shank to enter the narrow portion. The mirror housing is thus suspended from the fastener. In another embodiment, the housing has a U-shaped clip received in a groove in the housing. The legs of the clip straddle the shank of the fastener and the body of the clip is clamped between the head of the fastener and the headliner. The mirror may be detached by separating the housing from the clip and leaving the clip assembled with the fastener, or the entire housing and clip may be removed from the fastener.

Abstract: A system for holding pages comprising a plastic hollow housing partially filled with ballast and having a flat base, and a groove in the housing for holding pages. The groove has a center and outer regions and a horizontal cross section in a shallow "V" shape. The groove wall spacing is approximately constant throughout, and protrusions extending from the inner surface of a first lip near the center region of the groove and from the other wall of the groove near the outer regions of the groove create substantial friction and gripping ability.

Abstract: An apparatus for supporting a sign element on a fixture includes a left side support member and a right side support member with each of the support members being separated from the other and being free standing. Each support member includes a support surface and an engagement surface that is oriented substantially transverse to the support surface. A substantially linear side groove is located along a length of the engagement surface of each of the left and right support members. A left side base and a right side base are provided on which a respective one of the support members is mounted. Preferably the bases each have a projection extending into a recess formed in a housing of the support member for engaging a wall of the housing.

The housing includes a longitudinal slot for receiving the display card or sign and which extends along an upper surface of the body portion.

Abstract: A picture frame comprises a frame, a back plate, a face plate, and a base. The frame of iron material provides an ornamental border surrounding a picture intended to be displayed. The back plate is made of a soft magnetic plate and is attached to one side of the frame by virtue of its magnetism. The face plate of transparent material is kept between the frame and the back plate in such a manner that it permits a picture intended to be displayed to be placed between it and the back plate. The base made of a flat plate is provided thereon with a retaining portion made up of a left retaining strip, a right retaining strip and a middle retaining strip, each of which is arranged in such a manner that it forms a predetermined angle with the base. The left and the right retaining strips are aligned, while the middle retaining strip is arranged slightly toward the rear side of the base.

Abstract: A mirror is mounted to the roof of a vehicle by a pivot arm assembly for pivotally coupling the mirror to a vehicle for movement from side to side and for movement between a raised stored position and a lowered use position. In a preferred embodiment, the pivot arm has one end pivotally mounted to a housing for storably receiving the mirror and an opposite end coupled to the mirror using both a hinge and a ball joint to allow compact storage of the mirror in the housing and full adjustability for use.

In the case of a channel-type picture frame, the means may comprise opposed L-shaped slots extending inwardly from each load-supporting edge a short distance above the bottom edge. The L-shaped slots form a T-shaped member. The T-shaped member can frictionally interlock with the base channel of a picture frame, to suspend the frame in a rearwardly inclined display position.

Abstract: A picture frame stand has a pedestal and tubular sleeve vertically mounted from the pedestal. An open vertical slot extends along a substantial length of the sleeve which houses a pole mounted for vertical movement in the sleeve. A screw is anchored near the lower end of the pole and is positioned for slideable movement in the slot and a nut is mounted on this screw for holding the pole in a fixed position in the slot when the desired height of the pole is reached. Accordingly, the adjustment of the pole in the sleeve is obtained by loosening the nut and moving the screw up and down in the slot. A peg is provided on the upper end of the pole adapted to receive a picture hanger. The hanger has a general horseshoe configuration terminated in a plate which is mounted on a picture frame. The plate has a horizontal slot therein with the screw positioned in the slot permitting horizontal movement of the hanger on the frame for providing an adjustment.

An upper rounded rear portion of the leg rear designs secure a pivotal pin passing through a back rest consisting of a flat plate with wings attached along three of four sides, two of the wings being utilized to receive the pivotal pin. The back is adjustable to varying angles. Lastly, a removable cup insert plate is situated between the two legs proximate the front portion of the base, the cup insert plate having a centrally located opening to receive the side walls of a cup.
