Pipe Or Cable Patents (Class 248/49)
  • Patent number: 7418812
Abstract: The present invention provides a cable or the like protection and guide device which accommodates a cable or the like while allowing for examination of the cable. Smooth linear and flexional movement is achieved while not compromising the form stability of the cable accommodation space. Partial or local wear is suppressed. The device is made of a synthetic resin and accommodates a cable in a rectangular cable accommodating space. The accommodating space is surrounded by the outer circumferential wall portion, which is openable, a pair of side wall portions, and an inner circumferential wall portion. Inserting protrusion mechanisms, engagement mechanisms, slits, opening windows and flexion restricting piece portions contribute to the stability and usefulness of the device.

Abstract: Elements, couplers, systems, and methods for joining two or more trough members. A locking element for a coupler of a cable trough system includes a frame member including a shaft, a pawl member including first and second ends, and defining an aperture, the shaft of the frame member extending through the aperture so that the pawl member pivots on the shaft, and a member positioned to engage the first end of the pawl member to pivot the pawl member about the shaft into a locked position. When a force is applied to the first end in a direction opposite to that exerted by the member, the pawl member moves about the shaft into an unlocked position.

  • Patent number: 7410134
Abstract: A system and method for routing and segregating cables is provided. An embodiment includes a support member having a plurality of cable trays coupled thereto. The cable trays may be arranged in a tiered-manner such that cable receiving portions of the cable trays extend farther than an adjacent cable tray in a longitudinal direction. Cables may then be routed to individual cable trays, which route the cables to a second location. In this manner, the cables in each cable tray are segregated from cables in other cable trays, thereby reducing the twisting of the cables.

  • Patent number: 7387281
Abstract: A clamp to be surface mounted on a printed circuit board with a clamp groove into which an optical fiber is inserted. A flexible synthetic resin member is deformed by applying a pressing force so as to narrow the width of the clamp groove. The deformation causes an opening of the clamp to be closed, and opposing shape preservation members with the clamp groove located therebetween to be deformed so as to shorten the distance between top ends of the shape preservation members. A metal plate member with no spring properties remains deformed even after the pressing force is released, and the flexible synthetic resin member also remains deformed. Abstract: A stabilization system (10) for a section of submarine pipeline (11) comprising an end restraint (15) at each end of the section of pipeline and intermediate restraints (20) between the two end restraints (15) for limiting lateral movement of the pipeline (11) at the location of the restraints (15, 20). Each end restraint (15) is adapted to be secured to the pipeline (11) to transfer axial tension generated by lateral movement of the pipeline (11) to the seabed or ground on which the end restraint is installed. Each restraint (15, 20) comprises a pair of restraint faces (21) spaced apart to define a gap (23) through which the pipeline (11) can extend. Each restraint face (21) is configured to control curvature of the pipeline (11) during lateral movement thereof. A restraint device and a method of stabilizing a submarine pipeline is also disclosed and claimed.

Abstract: In order to keep the load on the cables in a cable storage device as light as possible during the process of storing, and furthermore in order to keep the release of the cables as simple as possible, a cable storage device is provided in which at least on one side of the storage device a shoulder of a block is provided, which during storage is pushed down by the cable gripper, and as a result of this during storage the cable or cable end is practically not exposed to any transverse or longitudinal load. In this arrangement the block with the shoulder or shoulders is pushed upward by a spring and in this way ensures reliable clamping action in the storage device.
