Patent number: 6591541Abstract: A fishing tackle holder, including an elongated channel piece with lipped edges, a mounting bracket having either a substantially diamond-shaped or a round base portion for slidably mounting within the channel, a fastener to hold the mounting bracket in the channel, an adjuster to position a barrel sleeve which holds a fishing rod, and a lock down to hold the barrel sleeve in place. The fishing tackle holder may also include eyelets on the side of the barrel sleeve, with a securing cord to hold the fishing rod so that a fish will not pull the fishing rod out of the barrel sleeve.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 2001Date of Patent: July 15, 2003Inventor: Berton L. Patent number: 6520574Abstract: A beach chair with a sunshade in accordance with the present invention consists of a chair (10), a sunshade (20) and a securing device (30) mounted between the chair (10) and the sunshade (20). The securing device (30) comprises a toothed ring (31) mounted on the chair (10), a locking collar (32) rotatably mounted around the toothed ring (31), a locking block (33) rotatably secured inside the locking collar (32) and a ratchet wheel (34) holding the sunshade (20) and rotatably mounted on the locking collar (32). The sunshade (20) can be moved in two directions by operationally rotating the ratchet wheel (34) relative to the locking collar (32) and rotating the locking collar (32) round the toothed ring (31) to achieve an optimum inclination position for shading. Additionally, the sunshade (20) can be folded against the chair (10) so the beach chair can be easily carried.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 2002Date of Patent: February 18, 2003Inventor: Hsi-Chin Huang

Patent number: 6421948Abstract: A rod holder and signaling device for holding a fishing pole and signaling when a fish strikes a bait or lure is compact and is adaptable to secure the fishing rod to various structures. The fishing rod may then be temporarily abandoned or remotely monitored by the angler. The rod holder includes a clamping device, which is adapted to clamp over a variety of support structures to securely mount the fishing pole at a targeted fishing location. Preferably, the rod holder is pivotable relative to the clamping device to adjust an angle of the rod with respect to the clamping device and the support structure. The signaling device includes a flexible member, a signaling member, and a release mechanism rotatably mounted on the flexible member. The release mechanism is rotatable about the flexible member in response to tension being detected in the fishing line and rotates to disengage the release mechanism and thus the flexible member from a connector along the rod holder.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2000Date of Patent: July 23, 2002Inventor: Jeffrey L. Patent number: 6302367Abstract: A fishing rod holder includes a cradle shaped to receive and selectively retain a fishing rod therein, and includes a first ratchet half thereon. A support pedestal that has a mount for attaching the fishing rod holder to a support surface, and includes a second ratchet half shaped to selectively lockingly engage with the first ratchet half. A quick-release connector mechanism permits angular adjustment between the cradle and the support pedestal. The quick-release connector mechanism includes an actuator pin extending centrally between the first and second ratchet halves, and rotatably connecting the cradle and the support to permit mutual rotation between a variety of different cradle positions. The actuator pin has a fixed end associated with one of the cradle and the spark pedestal, and a free end associated with the other of the cradle and support pedestal.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 1999Date of Patent: October 16, 2001Assignee: Attwood CorporationInventors: Clifton J. Patent number: 6050034Abstract: An anchoring apparatus for securing a pole into ground, which includes a tubular section being retained in the ground for supporting the pole. A support element is disposed on the open end of the tubular member, for supporting the pole proximate to the open end. The support element includes an annular outer member, which is rotatably disposed on the tubular section, and includes a support aperture eccentrically offset with respect to the center of the outer member. An annular inner member is rotatably disposed within the support aperture, and includes a receiving aperture eccentrically offset with respect to the center of the inner member, for supporting the pole. The outer member and inner member are respectively rotatable to vary the positions of the support aperture and the receiving aperture, so as to selectively tilt the poles longitudinal axis to a desired position with respect to the direction of the longitudinal axis of the tubular section.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 1998Date of Patent: April 18, 2000Assignee: Klaus KrinnerInventor: Klaus Krinner
