  • Patent number: 4621785
Abstract: A vibration damping mount has a frame and at least one and preferably, two parallel guides extending therefrom. A support tube extends in the same direction as the guides, and preferably parallel to it, and carries a platform such as a camera platform, on its upper end. A bracket connects the support tube and guides such that the support tube and attached platform can slide in relation to the guides, while being prevented from moving laterally, in particular prevented from rotating, with respect thereto. Resilient means is connected between the support tube and frame so as to inhibit downward movement of the support tube and attached platform, thereby absorbing vertical vibration. A piston arrangement is also further preferably included for reducing larger vibrations. As well, a telescoping foot shaft arrangement and a pan handle arrangement are further provided.

  • Patent number: 4595167
Abstract: The invention relates to an antivibration device particularly adapted for mounting motorcar engines, comprising a shaft (2) fixed to a base and supporting above it a metallic plate (3), fixing one extremity of a metallic container cylinder (4) inside which there is axially positioned a shaft (5) bearing the static work preload by means of a spacer spring (7) interposed between the plate (3) and a plate (6) held at one extremity of the same shaft (5), rigid revolving elements (9) being disposed between a viscoelastic material rolling race (10), preferably sheathing the shaft (5), and a metallic sliding race (8) consisting of a groove made in the inner wall of the container cylinder (4) in which the said rigid revolving elements are housed.

  • Patent number: 4533109
Abstract: An elastic support unit has a supporting element including an elastic part and a sliding part arranged so that under the action of load, first the elastic part is elastically deformed and the supporting element acts within a first elastic region, then the sliding part allows the supporting element to slide over a slide path and the supporting element acts within a second sliding region, and thereafter upon passing the sliding region the supporting element uses its stress reserves and after exceeding the stress reserves uses plastic deformation of the elastic part, so as to form thereafter an elastic stop and thereby act in a third additional region.

  • Patent number: 4401290
Abstract: A seat secured to a permanent floor by a seat stabilizer which provides increased comfort by absorbing the static shock and/or vibration created between the permanent structure and the seat cushion. The seat stabilizer comprises a plurality of steel bolts firmly supported in the permanent floor structure, each bolt being enclosed by a coil spring contacting the permanent floor structure and the seat cushion frame positioned around each bolt, thereby causing the seat cushion to float vertically along the bolt in response to sudden shocks or vibrations. A bushing mounted on the portion of each seat frame contacting the stabilizing bolts prevents wear due to the vertical movement of the floating seat cushion frame. The stabilizing bolts and associated spring are enclosed by an elastic boot thereby eliminating dust particles and the corrosive effects of the environment.

  • Patent number: 4362287
Abstract: Delicate equipment is mounted on a carrier such as a vessel or a vehicle by means of shock absorbers which are spring biased to an accurately defined position in which the equipment is rigidly fastened to the carrier. When the carrier is subjected to a shock force exceeding the biasing of the shock absorbers, the rigid connection is released and the equipment thus protected against damaging forces. Each shock absorber has a single compression spring which is compressed by an axial force on the shock absorber regardless of the direction of the force. At least three parallel, vertical shock absorbers carry the equipment. Horizontal shocks are absorbed due to the tilting movement of the equipment relative to the shock absorbers, which are thus subjected to vertical movements in opposite directions.

  • Patent number: 4343452
Abstract: An elastic support for a horizontally rotating washing machine or the like in which two spring support strut assemblies are disposed substantially in the middle of the machine and to either side of a vertical plane which includes the axis of rotation. Each of the spring strut assemblies is double-acting, i.e., it has an upper guide rod and a lower guide rod, each of which is surrounded by a compression spring. The top of the upper guide rod is attached to the washing machine housing and the bottom of the lower guide rod is attached to the base of the machine. The free ends of the guide rods move axially within a single guiding and damping casing which has internal passages for guiding the rods.

  • Patent number: 4245826
Abstract: A column which includes an elongated guide tube receiving a pneumatic spring of the piston-and-cylinder type in its bore. A bar is fixedly fastened to the piston rod member or the cylinder member of the spring in longitudinal alignment and extends in the guide tube bore from the associated spring member toward one of the two longitudinally terminal parts of the guide tube. A spring assembly extending about the bar is interposed between spring seats on the pneumatic spring member fixedly fastened to the bar and the one terminal part of the guide tube. Cooperating abutments on the bar and on the one terminal part of the guide tube limit movement of the bar toward the other longitudinally terminal part of the guide tube.
