Abstract: A driver's seat mounting apparatus for a motor vehicle having a driver's seat shiftable either forward or rearward along rails. Rail supporting members for said shiftable driver's seat are disposed lower than a seat supporting portion mounted on the top surface of a suspension.
Abstract: An isolation mount for damping radial vibration as well as axial vibrations without attendant shear forces to the elastomeric medium. A toroidal casing has a plate extending through its radially outer wall and terminating with flanges on its radially inner edge near a cylindrical core of the casing. Elastomeric O-rings are disposed on either side of the plate so as to be captured between the respective flange and oppositely disposed casing wall. Relative movement between the plate and the casing then results in compressive loads to certain portions of one or both of the O-rings, regardless of whether the relative motion is in the axial or radial direction.
Abstract: An improved hanger for vehicular mud flaps is provided comprising a first and second elongated support member. One end of the first support member is secured to the vehicle while the second support member is telescopically mounted to the free end of the first support member. A spring resiliently urges the second support member axially outward from the first support member while permitting retraction of the second support member relative to the first support member when required to prevent a breakage or bending of the mud flap hanger. A coiled spring on the end of the hanger permits the end flap to be twisted without damaging the hanger.
Abstract: A suspension device for supporting objects, such as a vehicle seat on a base to reduce vibrations transmitted from the base to a person seated on the seat, consists of a first lever hinged at one end to the base, and a second lever hinged to the other end of, and overlying the first lever, the first lever resting on the base, and the second lever resting on the base or the first lever, through respective gas-filled, bell-shaped, hollow damper studs.
