Flexible Encircling Band Patents (Class 248/74.3)
  • Patent number: 7712708
Abstract: A fastener or routing clip for use in a vehicle is configured to reduce the surface area of that is in contact with the tube, wire, or cord to which it is mounted. The fastener clip simultaneously reduces vibration noise. The fastener clip may include two ends which may be connected to each other by a swivel hinge, which allows the two ends of the clip to close and snap-fit together. When in the closed position, the two ends, which further define corresponding semi-circular sections, will capture the tube, wire, cord, etc. thereby mounting them to the clip. The clip may then be mounted to the vehicle. The fastener clip may include at least one flex arm having a bulbous-like end that contacts and pushes on the tube, wire, cord, etc. to reduce the amount of surface contact between the tube, wire, cord, etc. and the clip, and functions as a dampener to reduce vibration noise.

  • Patent number: 7658351
Abstract: The present invention relates to a member for guiding and supporting elongated flexible members such as wires, cables and other flexible lines that can introduce services and utilities into a residential, commercial or similar building structures. The guiding and support members receive and support at least one of the elongated flexible members so that it can be pulled around a corner without being damaged. Additionally, the guiding and support members can be used when the elongated member is only being pulled in a straight run or to organize elongated members that have already been run. Sweeps, including roller sweeps and cradles, can be secured to the guiding and supporting members to maintain a predetermined radius in the flexible members and reduce the amount of friction on the flexible member as it is pulled. This reduction in friction results in a smoother pull of the flexible member and a reduction in the amount of force needed to pull the flexible member.

Abstract: A cable tie includes a serrated strap which is fitted to an apertured head. In use, the cable tie can be formed into closed loop around an electrical harness cable by inserting the serrated strap through the apertured head. The cable tie additionally includes a fastener which can be used to secure an unattached electrical connector securely against the electrical harness cable. The fastener comprises a rectangular platform that includes a convex outer wall and a flat inner wall that are partially separated by a transverse slot. The platform is shaped to define a pair of opposing, inwardly extending notches which enable the platform to be slid into engagement with corresponding railings formed on the electrical connector. A ratchet-shaped tooth is formed on the convex outer wall to engage a corresponding pawl formed on the electrical connector to lockably retain the fastener coupled to the electrical connector.

  • Patent number: 7360744
Abstract: A tie strap assembly includes a strap, a fastener rail or beam and a fastener. The strap is connected to a lock housing, wherein a distal end of the strap is configured to pass into a lock passage of the lock housing to form a loop. The fastener rail is offset from the strap, such that the strap does not directly contact the fastener rail. A fastener is slidably secured on the fastener rail, and is therefore, not in contact with the strap. Wires bundled within the strap do not contact the fastener. Thus, the fastener may be easily slidably adjusted on the fastener rail without interference from bundled wires or the strap.
