Swinging Or Folding Link Patents (Class 248/92)
  • Patent number: 8757574
Abstract: A hose reel (10) is supported by a mounting bracket (12) which can be attached on a vertical or horizontal surface and allow for 180 degrees of motion to allow the hose reel (10) to automatically swivel in the direction the hose (14) is being pulled. The bracket mechanism (16) consists of integral mounting bosses (18) on the hose reel enclosures (20), a mounting bracket (12), a tube (22) and a constraint device (24) on the tube (22). The mounting bosses (18) on the hose reel enclosures (20) are designed to orient and constrain the mounting tube (22) to allow for the tube to be installed from either end of the hose reel. The constraining device (24) on the tube (22) locks into an integral opening (26) in the mounting bosses (18) to prevent tube (22) displacement in either direction.

  • Patent number: 7211730
Abstract: An improved cable or the like protection and guide device in which even if curling, strain and the like exist in a side plate after molding, static electricity can escape and the device can be produced at a reduced cost. In a cable or the like protection and guide device according to the present invention a plurality of link bodies (11) articulably connected to each other in the longitudinal direction in a state where a cable or the like (15) was inserted into the device, comprises a pair of side plates (21) disposed on both sides of the cable or the like and connecting rods (22, 23) respectively bridged on the bend or articulation outer peripheral side and on the bend or articulation inner peripheral side of the side plate. Each of the side plates slide-contacts a side plate of an adjacent link body. At least the side plate is made of a synthetic resin having conductivity and a conductive member (55) is provided in a slide contact portion between the side plates of the adjacent link bodies.

  • Patent number: 6422521
Abstract: A hose support system for a rail car having a support which includes a flat strap having first and second ends and a tongue connected to the first end of the strap and extending along the strap towards the second end of the strap. A connector at one end of the strap is positioned in a car aperture and a connector at the other end of the strap is positioned in a hose aperture. A resilient element connects the loop at one end of the strap to its connector. A clasp is adjustably positioned on the strap between the ends of the strap and adjusts the length of the strap between the ends. The tongue extends through the clasp. At least one of the connectors may include a loop and a throat extending substantially tangential to the loop. Alternatively, one or more of the connectors may include a spiral. A bearing ring separates the connector and the strap.

  • Patent number: 5379347
Abstract: A method of inspecting a curved surface of a workpiece by a surface inspecting apparatus provided with a projecting device for illuminating the workpiece surface to be inspected with detection light, a detecting device for receiving and detecting the light reflected from the workpiece surface, and a condensing optical system for causing the reflected light to converge on a light-receiving surface of the detecting device. According to the method, the surface inspecting apparatus is successively displaced along the workpiece surface and the reflected light is detected by the detecting device. Further, image data obtained from the detecting device is held and binary digitized. It is determined whether or not the workpiece surface to be inspected is planar. If it is not planar, then the digitized image data is processed for dilation and erosion. Thus, when the workpiece surface is curved, faulty or defective spots can be reliably detected.
