  • Patent number: 4280676
Abstract: A device for holding a flexible, nonselfsupporting bag in an opened position for allowing the bag to be filled with leaves, grass or the like. The device includes a body member having a cavity therethrough substantially in the shape of a truncated right cone with the large end of the cone normally directed downward. The bag is inserted into the hollow body member and the mouth of the bag is attached to the top of the body member in an opened position. Once the bag is filled, the mouth of the bag is detached from the top of the body member and the body member is lifted over the bag. The sloping sides of the cavity in the body member makes the device easy to lift over the filled bag.

  • Patent number: 4273167
Abstract: A trash bag holding stand that may be manually assembled without the use of tools to support a pliable bag (such as a plastic bag) in open fillable position. The stand includes a rectangular frame with its corners formed of right angle pipe elbows having sockets disposed at right angles to each other. The sides of the frame are elongated members such as pipes which are telescoped into the respective sockets of the elbows to form the frame. The elbows also have leg-receiving sockets into which legs are telescoped to support the frame. Upstanding pins are disposed on the top surface of the elbows for detachably receiving the plastic bag. The stand may be provided with a cloth bag for receiving the plastic bag to protect it from breaking. A funnel may be provided to facilitate flow of waste material into the plastic bag.

  • Patent number: 4267996
Abstract: A supporting stand for holding open end leaf bags, or the like, in an open position has first and second base members rotatably attached to each other and each base member has a resilient leg attached to each end portion thereof. The base members can be locked into an open position with the legs extending upward from the base member and each pair of legs can be bowed inward to engage the folded lip of a leaf bag, which then stretches the bag open. Each leg has a protective tip to frictionally engage the bag and prevent tearing a hole therein, and the bases may be rotated into a folded position for storage.

  • Patent number: 4267997
Abstract: A skeletal frame, configured in cross-section size to the lateral dimensions of an expanded collapsible bag and including bottom frame members for providing vertical support to the collapsible bag, provides structural support for the collapsible bag during fill thereof. Handles attached to the frame translate a lifting force applied thereto through the frame to the bottom and sides of the collapsible bag, regardless of the degree of fill of the collapsible bag.

  • Patent number: 4199122
Abstract: A support rack adapted for suspending a flexible plastic bag having diametrically opposed handles in an open condition while simultaneously buttressing the bag to facilitate the loading of articles therein comprises a skeletal, open frame including back support means and confronting side support means for receiving a bag to be supported. The back and side support means are arranged to define a confinement boundary for the back and side panels of the bag and have dimensions generally corresponding to the height and width dimensions of the bag when opened. The rack further comprises bag suspending means carried by each side support means arranged to receive the bag handles for maintaining the bag in a suspended, opened condition. A rack mounting means projects rearwardly from the back support means and has pendant coupling means for mounting the rack along the top edge of a horizontally disposed support member.

  • Patent number: 4194654
Abstract: A carrier for a trash bag can be provided by a generally hollow structure, like a rectangular parallelepiped without a front or a top surface. The structure can be formed from material having elastic properties to permit the carrier to be deformed to engage the mouth of the trash bag and, upon elastic recovery, to hold the trash bag in the form of an open-mouthed container and support the bag and its contents in several useful positions. The structure can form a flap to permit the carrier to be more conveniently pulled from location to location and eliminate lifting and carrying of a filled or partially filled trash bag.

  • Patent number: 4188005
Abstract: A bag support frame that comprises a collapsible and adjustable multi-leg stand, and an adjustable bag mouth frame connected to the stand. The stand is vertically adjustable relative to ground level to support the bag by resting it on the ground at all times, and is designed to support the bag mouth frame in a generally horizontal plane above ground level. The bag mouth frame is vertically adjustable relative to the hook connected to the top of the stand to fit the size of a lawn mower's grass bag or the like, and is also horizontally adjustable for varying the frame's mouth size as desired to fit the mouth size of the bag resting on the ground.

  • Patent number: 4175602
Abstract: A frame for holding flexible bags to be opened and filled comprising bendable rods in continuous side frame formations. These side frame formations in one embodiment may be Z-shaped and are spaced with respect to each other and joined together by a telescopic rod at their respective lower foot extremities formed with aligned toed-in or inboard continuations of the foot extremities. The side frame formations at their respective upper top portions are each made with special forwardly extending arms provided with bag storage and holding formations. The bags to be supported on the arms include resilient and flexible material with stiffened portions in the form of an integral zipper around the opposed lip edges of the bag mouth. The relatively thicker lip edges are formed with spaced corner openings to mate with the free ends of the forwardly extending arms of the side frames of the bag support.

  • Patent number: 4174085
Abstract: A trash bag holder which moves from a generally planar collapsed storage position automatically to an open use position in which it can be used to support a flexible wall container such as a plastic trash bag. The device includes a substantially rigid rectangular frame from which elongated support elements outwardly extend at each corner thereof. The corners are each provided with a tapered socket to receive one end of such support elements which are, in turn, connected thereto by means of an extensible cord. The support elements may thus be moved to a collapsed position generally parallel to adjacent frame elements wherein the cords are under tension and when released, will automatically move to their extended open position for receipt of a trash bag.
