Applying, to a cover, a region that will not be integrated with the seat pad when the seat pad is foam molded, at a location on the cover that corresponds to a location of the protrusion when placing the cover on the inside surface of the foaming chamber. The method further includes arranging the cover following a shape of the protrusion and foam molding the seat pad and forming a space of a recessed portion between the seat pad and the cover, by releasing the one die and the other die after foam molding the seat pad.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for casting concrete elements with varying, determined length, equipped with one or with a plurality of longitudinal hollow cores, by means of a slipforming apparatus. The apparatus is movable with respect to the bed (2), said apparatus comprising forming members (10) for forming hollow cores. The mass is fed in the first step to the portion of the slab below the hollow cores, and in the second step the hollow-core forming members being brought onto the said portion of the slab and mass is being fed between the forming members and onto them. The forming member (10) for forming a hollow core comprises an attachable extension part (22). The height of a hollow core is changed by changing the extension part of the hollow core forming member.

    Abstract: The present invention provides for an improved device for molding keyhole sipes larger in size, i.e. sipes having a wider passage, than currently being formed in treads that will avoid damaging the tread during formation and removal thereof from a mold. The device includes an elongated deformable body member having a blade extending in a direction away therefrom and substantially along the length thereof. The body member also includes a stiffening member securely fixed in position therein that extends substantially the length thereof. The stiffening member provides a desired rigidity to the deformable body member, thereby limiting flexion along its length under the stress of a rubber formulation when the mold is closed during the molding process. Also, the deformable body member provides low stress on the tread when a slit of the keyhole sipe is pulled around the body member during removal of the tread from a mold.

Methods of over-molding a pulling iron cable are also described. According to the methods, a temporary seal, which can be used in over-molding a subsequent pulling iron cable, can be formed simultaneously with each over-molded product. During molding, the cable can be held in the center of a channel in the mold tool using a retractable magnetic pin.
