  • Patent number: 11686113
Abstract: A concrete finishing assembly includes a plurality of rails that each has a guide surface. A plurality of couplers each releasably engages a respective pair of the rails for attaching the respective pair of rails together. In this way the plurality of rails defines a border to surround a shower floor. A cylinder is provided and the cylinder can be inserted into a drain in the shower floor. A trowel unit is provided that has an adjustable length and the trowel unit is attachable to the cylinder. The trowel unit is slidable along the guide surface of the plurality of rails that defines the border. In this way the trowel unit can smooth concrete on the shower floor at a predetermined slope for draining water into the drain.

Abstract: The side walls of a mold have recesses in each of which is mounted a mold core for forming depressions on the outer side of a concrete block which is to be produced in this mold. The mold cores are pivotally supported around a horizontal axis which is parallel to the mold walls on the outer side of the mold. A sloping cam slot on each mold core is used to pivot the mold cores into the mold cavity defined by the mold walls and then back into the recess. The inner edges of a recess closely fit the mold core and function as strippers which self-clean all surfaces of the mold core which have come into contact with the concrete when the mold core is pivoted back into its recess. As a result, time intervals for cleaning the mold cores are greatly lengthened and a clean and smooth surface of the finished concrete block is insured.

  • Patent number: 4569500
Abstract: A concrete ramp is, in cross section, in the form of an inverted U and is made in sections. The form includes a base the upper surfaces of which are inclined relative to the horizontal at an angle wanted for tread surface of the ramp. A pair of inner and outer side walls are provided for each side of the base and then are shaped and dimensioned so that their upper edges are horizontal, the height of the inner walls less than that of the outer walls. The walls of each pair are hingedly connected to the base in a manner enabling the outer walls to swing outwardly and the inner walls to swing inwardly. Power operated devices supported by the base are operable to hold the inner walls vertically or to pull them inwardly. A plate is supported by the inner walls in a manner permitting it to be lowered or raised as the inner walls are swung into or out of their operative position.

  • Patent number: 4519570
Abstract: A form unit to cast the inside surfaces of a corner of a concrete structure has a pair of form panels disposed generally perpendicular to each other and an elongated corner member disposed between the adjoining edges of such panels with an actuator having relatively movable parts including a first part connected by parallelogram linkage to each of the form panels and a second part connected to the corner member so that when the actuator parts are moved together the form panels are butted against the outer edges of the corner member and when the actuator parts are moved apart the form panels are separated from the corner member. Holding means retains the corner member against displacement toward the panels while the form panels are being stripped from the hardened concrete and latch means holds the form panels against relative movement while the corner member is being stripped.

Abstract: A concrete forming structure including a collapsible form having at least one form panel section. The section having a marginal flange structure mounted thereon at one side and vertically spaced slots on the marginal flange structure for receiving wedge bolts at selected intervals. A one-way escape hinge structure for the form including a pair of first and second hinge plates, the hinge plates including a hinge securing said plates at one of their ends. The first of said hinge plates having vertically spaced wedge bolt slots spaced at intervals generally coinciding to the spacing of the slots on the marginal flange of the panel section. Locking pairs of wedge bolts each having an enlarged end are provided. One wedge bolt of each pair extends through the cooperating slots in the first hinge plate and the marginal flange structure of the panel section with its enlarged end resting against the hinge plate.

  • Patent number: 4180233
Abstract: A building construction system uses a mold set up at a construction site so that the external part of the mold is spaced clear of the internal part. Building elements including those which are functional in the construction operation are arranged around the internal mold part. Such functional elements include connecting rod anchorages around the lower region of the mold, and the like. The external mold part is moved into position near the internal mold part, and the mold is filled to form a casting. A lifting frame is arranged over the mold and adjustably connected to the connecting rods. Then the external mold part is moved away to release the casting, and the frame is lifted to raise the casting up over the mold for movement to a building site near the construction site.
