  • Patent number: 10166553
Abstract: The invention provides a diverter valve assembly for use with multiple water discharge fixtures, such as a shower head and a hand-held sprayer. The diverter valve assembly includes a valve body having an inlet port and multiple outlet ports, a rotatable valve core and a rotation knob. Rotational positioning of an elastic cup seal on the valve core blocks water flow at any of the inlet port and the outlet ports, allowing water flow from a single water source to one of the water discharge fixtures at a time, or to both of the water discharge fixtures simultaneously. The diverter valve assembly also includes a holder for storing the hand-held sprayer.

  • Patent number: 6224034
Abstract: An elastic body 51 is provided to absorb impact energy generated by the collision between rotor positioning portions 31 and shaft portion positioning portions 29 when a shaft portion 24 is moved into a female thread portion 26 to determine the initial position of the shaft portion 24, and so the impact noise generated by the collision between the rotor positioning portions 31 and the shaft portion positioning portions 29 can be reduced. Also, the force of impact imparted to the shaft portion positioning portions 29 by the rotor positioning portions 31 decreases, and so it is possible to prevent deformation of the rotor positioning portions 31 and the shaft portion positioning portions 29.

  • Patent number: 6027098
Abstract: A rotary valve assembly comprising a valve body having a fluid flow passageway in communication with the valve body cavity which comprises a rotatable closure member for selectively closing or opening the fluid flow passageway intersecting the valve body cavity. A valve operator consists of a reciprocatable and rotatable stem connected to the closure member so that the stem can reciprocate relative to the closure member and when the stem rotates, the closure member and the stem rotate together. The closure member comprises stop means to arrest movement of the stem towards the closure member in order to transmit the stem force to the closure member. A lift-and-turn mechanism or a lift-turn-and-reseat mechanism actuates the stem. In one embodiment, the stem back-seats to prevent fugitive emissions. The valve operator selectively moves the closure member to a flow closed position or to a flow open position.

  • Patent number: 4834340
Abstract: A quarter-turn plug valve has an inverted and tapered frustoconical body cavity and plug. The valve body has a through-flow passage with ports opening into said body cavity. The tapered plug has a valve stem and a throughflow passage. The valve seats surround the ports and extend from the walls of the tapered valve cavity toward the plug. The plug, when seated in closed position, is in physical contact only with the annular tapered faces of the valve seats. The valve stem contains acme or square threads near the bottom to engage with a bonnet threaded at its lower end. The bonnet extends axially along the valve stem and has a projecting flange near its midpoint, which seats on a gasket placed between it and the valve body flange. When the plug is properly oriented in closed position, the adjustable bonnet is turned on the threads of the valve stem with the stem fixed until it seats on the valve body with the desired downward thrust.

  • Patent number: 4727901
Abstract: A ball valve device for subsea applications, capable of being dismantled for inspection and maintenance without disrupting normal operations of the pipeline and without causing leakage into or out of the pipeline is disclosed. The ball arrangement of the valve has an upper ball member (3), and a lower ball member (4) in which its upper ball member (3), includes the main packings of the valve. The lower ball member (4) includes two axial withdrawable sleeves (13). When the valve is open, the sleeves (13) can be withdrawn outwardly for intervention with guiders in the valve housing (1) and thereby form a tight, continuous passageway which extends from one of the openings in said valve housing (1) to the second opening in said valve housing (1). The axial withdrawable sleeve (13) can be moved inwards to a position where it stands free from its other guiders when said ball arrangement rotates during closing of said valve.

  • Patent number: 4239185
Abstract: The invention is a valve with a tapered plug that seats in a through flow passage in the body. The plug has a through opening so that by rotating the plug through 90.degree. one can control flow through the valve. The plug is tapered and, as it is rotated in the counter-clockwise direction to open, it is also lifted slightly from its seats. As it is rotated in the clockwise direction to close, the plug is pressed slightly down to form a sealing engagement with its seats. The combination of rotational and vertical movements--in effect a spiral motion--of the plug provide a valve that has an effective seal, ease of manipulation and full throttling with 1/4 turn of the tapered plug.

  • Patent number: 4032107
Abstract: An improved plug valve has means for operating a stem and plug assembly therein, including a sleeve secured within an opening in a valve cover plate, and a tubular gland which is threadably engaged in the sleeve and which coacts with upper and lower stop means incorporated into the stem to raise and lower the plug. Annular sealing rings are employed between the valve stem and the gland and between the gland and the sleeve to prevent leakage, especially when the plug is in a raised position.
