  • Patent number: 11156298
Abstract: A valve assembly used in a manifold system fix processing fluid samples includes a body, a valve member, and a coupling assembly. The body defines a fluid passage and a valve passage in communication with the fluid passage and receiving at least a portion of the valve member therein. The valve member is selectively movable over a range of travel between an open position, in which fluid can flow through the fluid passage, and a closed position, in which the valve member occludes the fluid passage. The coupling assembly includes a coupling member and a retention lug. The retention lug is connected to one of the body and the coupling member. The other of the body and the coupling member defines a lug raceway configured to removably receive the retention lug therein to removably mount the coupling member to the body with the valve member being movably retained therebetween.

  • Patent number: 11112014
Abstract: Provided are a two-way valve for flow rate control and a temperature control device using the same, which can linearly control a flow rate of a fluid with good accuracy as compared to a switching valve in which a communication hole is simply formed in a valve element so as to open a flow passage through alignment with an outflow portion.

  • Patent number: 9297476
Abstract: The invention concerns an valve drive assembly for a valve unit for regulating a flow of fluid with a lead-through of an operating rod (3) through a flange (4), particularly the arrangement of operating rod (3) to the flange (4) for adjusting a defined flow of fluid. The assembly comprises a flange (4), and operating rod (3) and an annular element. The operating rod (3) is disposed through said flange, and annular element is disposed between flange (4) and operating rod (3) defining an annular gap (12) between the annular element and the operating rod. An effective length of the annular gap (12) exceeds a thickness of the flange (4). This invention leads to considerable cost savings, as the component parts can now be produced more simply using manufacturing processes known from mass production, such as deep-drawing or even stamping.

  • Patent number: 9044573
Abstract: Apparatus for use in dialyzing a patient comprising a hemodialysis catheter comprising an elongated body having a proximal and a distal end, wherein the distal end terminates in a substantially planar distal end surface; first and second lumens extending from the proximal end to the distal end, wherein the lumens terminate on the distal end surface in first and second mouths, arranged in side-by-side configuration, and further wherein the lumens are separated by a septum; and first and second longitudinal slots formed in the distal end of the elongated body and communicating with the interiors of the lumens, the slots opening on the distal end surface; wherein the slots each have a length and a width, relative to the dimensions of the lumens and the rate of blood flow to be passed through the hemodialysis catheter, so as to minimize undesirable recirculation of dialyzed blood.

  • Patent number: 5727771
Abstract: In a valve for opening and closing a fluid path by rotating a plug in a sleeve made of teflon resin, a plug body and valve stem are connected together. The plug is pressed by a spring to form a seal so that a rotating and opening/closing operation of the plug is smooth. The plug is made in a shape of top cut conical form, wherein contacting protrusions which are formed at both ends of a fluid path are positioned within valve chamber to contact the plug. When a valve sheet of teflon resin is burned by fire, the plug is urged downward so as to closely contact the surfaces of the contacting protrusions so that fluid does not leak around the plug.

  • Patent number: 4865071
Abstract: A flow valve comprising two valve members having contacting flat surfaces, one of the members containing spaced inlet and outlet fluid passages and the other of the valve members containing an intermediate passage, the valve members being mounted such that relative rotation of the flat surfaces can be effected to locate the intermediate passage either fully or partially in or out of communication with the inlet and outlet passages, and a channel is provided around at least part of the periphery of the contacting flat surfaces to receive molten metal and dross leaked between them.

  • Patent number: 4557462
Abstract: A rotary valve assembly for use in regulating the flow of molten material includes a stator member having therethrough a flow opening and adapted to be fixed to a source of molten material with the flow opening communicating with such source. The stator member has therein a rotor-receiving opening interrupting the flow opening and defined by a conical bearing surface. A frusto-conical shaped rotor member extends into the rotor-receiving opening, and the rotor member has an outer surface complementary to the bearing surface of the stator member. The rotor member has extending laterally therethrough a flow opening which, upon rotation of the rotor member with respect to the stator member, may be moved into and out of alignment with the flow opening of the stator member. A power driven device is provided to rotate the rotor member with respect to the stator member, thereby to selectively regulate the relative degree of alignment of the flow openings.

  • Patent number: 4557464
Abstract: This new plug type faucet valve assembly of the present invention particularly adapted for use in plumbing fixtures, for dispensing and, or mixing hot or cold water into lavatory sinks, vessel and the like, herein being disclosed. The preferred embodiment comprises a generally cylindrical body, having a vertical inlet port eccentrically placed from the bottom extending upward into a central cavity, and a horizontal discharge port through the side wall, wherein said ports are being interconnected at a right angle, by two intersecting blind bores in a cylindrical plug rotatably disposed therein to form a passageway through the faucet valve. Said plug comprise seals circumferentially disposed in respective grooves thereon, and having a trust bearing plate sealably co-acting with the inlet port seal at the bottom of said cavity, to protectively separate the planar surfaces of said plug and said cavity, forming a leak-proof connection therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4219046
Abstract: A thermoplastic lined plug valve is prepared using a plug having a nonlocking taper and a stem at the small end of the plug. The plug is seated initially by forcing the plug into the plug cavity, raising the temperature of the plug valve above the service temperature of the valve body lining until the valve body lining conforms to the valve plug. The valve is then cooled to a temperature below the service temperature of the body lining.
