  • Patent number: 11536377
Abstract: A gate valve includes a valve body, a transmission base disposed in the valve body, and two gate plates disposed at two sides of the transmission base. The gate plates are connected together through an elastic member disposed in the transmission base. When the transmission base is located at a first position, the gate plates are received in a chamber and moved towards each other by the elastic member to open valve openings. When the transmission base is located at a second position, the valve openings are sealed by the gate plates, and an elastic positioning portion of the elastic member is abutted against a positioning plate of the valve body for providing a buffer positioning effect to the gate plates. Therefore, the gate valve of the present invention is opened and closed by using the elastic member, and has advantages of smooth movement, simple structure, and good adaptability.

Abstract: An expanding dual disc gate valve that can be used in applications requiring double block and bleed type systems. A stem is positioned in the center of a valve body with a first and second gate arranged on opposite side of the stem with respect to each other. The first and second gates are slidingly engaged with the stem so that the stem controls their movement between an open and a closed position with respect to an inlet and an outlet of the valve body. As the gates approach the closed position they encounter a shoulder of the valve body preventing further downward movement, whereby further force from the stem wedges the first and second gates outward to create a sealing arrangement with a seat ring of the valve body.

The resilient material and closure disks are enveloped in an outer harder coating. Closing the gate valve brings the disks into initial sealing contact with the bottom of the valve seat. Applying pressure to the gate valve after contact is made between the gate assembly and the valve seat causes the resilient central member to exert pressure against the closure disks, thus pressing the outer coating of the gate assembly against the sidewalls of the valve seat. • Patent number: 4291861
Abstract: Gate valve having in-line ports has a closure member which slides in an elongated casing between an operative position between the ports to a retracted position remote from the ports. When in operative position, the closure has a seated or expanded position against the ports and a collapsed position out of contact with the ports. Movement between collapsed and expanded positions is accomplished by oscillation of a portion of the closure member relative to plates which seat against the ports as balls which are seated in detent depressions in the plates are forced out of the depressions. The same actuator linkage which moves the closure linearly also casues oscillation.

  • Patent number: 4290580
Abstract: A new and improved gate valve suitable for use with high pressure, high temperature fluids such as those developed in coal gasification processes and the like which comprises a valve gate assembly including opposed outwardly facing valve discs is bodily movable from a valve open position to a valve seat confronting position in which the valve discs are aligned with but spaced from opposed valve seats in the flow passage. Upon further downward movement of the valve stem the valve discs are moved laterally outwardly into engagement with the valve seats. In order to accommodate situations where the opposed valve seats are spaced relatively close together, the valve discs are mounted on annular spring washers which normally bias said valve discs away from said valve seats. A pair of toggle elements are actuated by downward movement of the valve stem to force the valve discs laterally outwardly into engagement with the valve seats after the assembly has been moved to the valve seat confronting position.

  • Patent number: 4238111
Abstract: A gate valve is provided for use in conjunction with vacuum equipment in which a gate assembly is opened and closed, for example, by a pneumatic cylinder. The gate assembly is enclosed in a valve housing, and aligned openings are provided in the opposite walls of the housing. The gate assembly is moved by the pneumatic cylinder between an open and closed position with respect to the openings. The gate assembly includes a gate which is mounted on a carriage, and the carriage is moved by the pneumatic cylinder between a first position in which the gate is open, and a second position in which the gate is closed. A feature of the gate valve of the invention is that when the gate is open, a smooth bore is provided through the valve aperture with electrical surface conductivity for short-circuiting stray radio frequency electric currents.

Abstract: A linear retractable seal valve having a wedge sealing-slip assembly slideably held at opposite side edges of the wedge to guide rails of the valve body and moveable from a distant first location to a second location between inlet and outlet ports of the valve from which latter location the sealing slips are wedged outwardly of the longitudinal movement of the assembly into closure engagement with the valve ports, with the valve being returned to its open position through a reverse sequential movement wherein there is first a perpendicular movement of the slips out of closure engagement with the valve ports, following which there is a reverse longitudinal movement of the wedge-slip assembly away from the fluid passageway to its valve open first location.

  • Patent number: 4162057
Abstract: A linear retractable seal valve having an inlet and outlet port and a fluid passageway therebetween with a lateral passageway perpendicular to the fluid passageway and with a wedge sealing-slip assembly slideably held at opposite side edges of the wedge to two guide rails of the valve body and moveable from a distant valve open first location within the lateral passageway to a second location between inlet and outlet ports of the valve. The slip-wedge assembly has at least one closure slip with an inside face of the slip slideably engaging a tapering face of the wedge and with the slip at said second location being restrained from further longitudinal movement and moveable in a perpendicular direction of the longitudinal assembly movement into closure engagement with one of the valve ports. The guide rails are diametrically-opposed and extend longitudinally of the inside face of the lateral passageway into the fluid passageway.

  • Patent number: 4134571
Abstract: This invention relates to an improvement in a conventional double-disc gate valve having a vertically movable gate assembly including a wedge, spreaders slidably engaged therewtih, a valve disc carried by the spreaders. When the gate assembly is lowered to a selected point in the valve casing, the valve discs are moved transversely outward to close inlet and outlet ports in the casing. The valve includes hold-down means for guiding the disc-and-spreader assemblies as they are moved transversely outward and inward. If such valves are operated at relatively high differential pressures, they sometimes jam during opening. Such jamming has been a problem for many years in gate valves used in gaseous diffusion plants for the separtion of uranium isotopes. The invention is based on the finding that the above-mentioned jamming results when the outlet disc tilts about its horizontal axis in a certain way during opening of the valve.

Abstract: A plunger valve having a straight through passage closed by a cylindrical, elastic plunger. The plunger is movable at right angles to the through passage. It is connected to a screw-threaded stem by a retaining pin which is positioned in a longitudinal open bore of the plunger. In closed position of the valve, the retaining pin contacts the opposite wall of the through passage to limit the elastic deformation of the plunger. In open position of the valve, the retaining pin is slightly retracted within its bore. The retaining pin is rigidly fixed to the stem and is rotatable in the plunger, but the plunger is held non-rotatably in the valve body by circumferential friction. The retaining pin holds the plunger by a shoulder situated in the upper part of the plunger.
