  • Patent number: 10100936
Abstract: A parallel slide gate valve includes a valve body comprising an interior surface, and an obturator therein. A portion of the interior surface defines a groove having a longitudinal axis oriented substantially perpendicular to a direction of flow through the valve body. The groove has a first width at a first end proximate to the fluid flow path and a second width at a second end distal from the fluid flow path, the second width smaller than the first width. The obturator is at least partially within the at least one groove. The obturator is configured to translate from the first end of the at least one groove toward the second end of the at least one groove as the obturator moves from a closed position to an open position.

  • Patent number: 7543797
Abstract: A valve device is provided. The valve device of the present invention includes a planetary component and two valve plates. The two valve plates are disposed on a hole portion of the planetary component opposite to each other, so as to provide a quick opening and closing with a relatively high opening and closing speed, and to reduce the space occupied. Therefore, the provided valve device does not need to perform adjustment (processing) to reduce the operating force on the sluice valve or to assure the closing function of the valve. Further, the function and the producibility of the valve are improved significantly.

  • Patent number: 5195722
Abstract: A fool proof slide gate valve wherein a slide gate valve body houses a gate which is constructed to encompass a wedge and its related components whereby when an external force is transmitted to said wedge, the gate effectively opens flow or closes flow to a medium flowing through a conduit connected to said fool proof slide gate valve, during which time of operation the gate remains sealed at all times preventing exposure of the component parts to the medium flowing through the conduit and other environmental matter and debris.

  • Patent number: 4530488
Abstract: An improved through conduit gate valve having a double expanding gate assembly with floating seats. The gate assembly carries at its edges flat guide strips which are slightly thicker than the collapsed thickness of the gate. These strips engage the seals to keep them from blinding or back wedging the gate assembly during movement between its opened and closed positions. Elastic suspension elements mount the strips to the gate assembly for proper wedging action by expansion against the seals but insures return into the collapsed position during the mentioned movement.

  • Patent number: 4495966
Abstract: A valve structure permitting two vacuum chambers (16, 20) to be separted or joined without breaking the vacuum in either. The structure includes first and second valves (10, 12) positioned at openings in the vacuum chambers, a valve housing 30 surrounding the valves and able to be sealed to form a valve lock chamber (32), and a pair of valve actuators (34, 36). Each valve includes a pair of plates movable together to an intermediate position over the opening, and then movable away from each other in response to further actuator movement, to seal one of the plates over the opening. In one disclosed embodiment the plates are moved apart by a pair of parallel pivot links, and in another embodiment a pair of balls is used to effect the required sealing movement.

  • Patent number: 4290580
Abstract: A new and improved gate valve suitable for use with high pressure, high temperature fluids such as those developed in coal gasification processes and the like which comprises a valve gate assembly including opposed outwardly facing valve discs is bodily movable from a valve open position to a valve seat confronting position in which the valve discs are aligned with but spaced from opposed valve seats in the flow passage. Upon further downward movement of the valve stem the valve discs are moved laterally outwardly into engagement with the valve seats. In order to accommodate situations where the opposed valve seats are spaced relatively close together, the valve discs are mounted on annular spring washers which normally bias said valve discs away from said valve seats. A pair of toggle elements are actuated by downward movement of the valve stem to force the valve discs laterally outwardly into engagement with the valve seats after the assembly has been moved to the valve seat confronting position.

  • Patent number: 4279404
Abstract: The gate assembly (24) of an expanding gate valve has projecting pins (74, 76, 78) which engage guide surfaces (54, 66) of guide rails (52, 64) in order to maintain the gate assembly in a collapsed condition between its open and closed positions. At the fully open and fully closed positions, the pins register with gaps (56, 58, 60, 68, 70) in the guide surfaces to permit expansion of the gate assembly against a pair of valve seats (20, 22).

  • Patent number: 4188014
Abstract: An improved gate valve of the expanding type wherein a gate and segment assembly having cooperative wedge surfaces are moved linearly between a pair of valve seats to block the flow therebetween in one position and open the flow in another, the fluid flowing through aligned ports in the gate and segment in such open position. The improvement lies in substituting for prior art springs a guide rail (28, 28') fixed to the valve housing or body and extending parallel to the stroke of the movable members, together with a rocker arm (54) pivotally mounted on one member and having a slot (66) receiving a pin (58) out of the other. A pair of lobes (64) extend from the opposed ends of the rocker arm (54) and contact the guide member. When the gate and segment assembly are at any position between the ends of its stroke, the rocker arm keeps both pairs of wedge surfaces tightly in contact, preventing any expansion.
