    Abstract: A media control valve includes a valve body having a media inlet and a media outlet with the valve body being adapted to be mounted on a flow device for providing communication between the media outlet and the flow device. A pressure balance flow line is provided in communication with the valve body and also with the flow device at a point upstream of the media outlet for balancing the pressure in the valve. A check valve may be included in the balance flow line for assuring that flow generally flows from the flow device to the valve body. A cleanout port may be provided for permitting clean out of the valve without disassembly when not in use.

    Abstract: A safety shut-off device is disclosed. The device is adapted for use with a gas welding apparatus, the apparatus having a torch handle and a supply of a pressurized combustion reagent. The safety shut-off device has a valving assembly that is adapted to be positioned between the torch handle and the supply of pressurized combustion reagent. The valving assembly is actuatable between a first state and a second state. In the first state, the torch handle is operatively connected to the supply of pressurized combustion reagent. In the second state, the handle is operatively disconnected from the supply of pressurized combustion reagent. The valving assembly is biased towards the second state and actuatable from the first state to the second state substantially instantaneously. The safety shut-off device also has an actuating mechanism. At least a portion of the actuating mechanism is adapted to be positioned on the handle for being grasped by the user of the gas welding apparatus when the user grasps the handle.

    Abstract: A lock-out valve is designed to direct pressure fluid to an operational port and system, and to exhaust such pressure for purposes of repair or reconstruction of a valve controlled system. The valve may be quickly moved to the exhaust phase by a manual stroke overriding threads between two concentric parts. However, reverse motion of the valve to re-establish pressure to the operational port can only be accomplished by a turning action on the manual actuator. This insures a slow return of pressure to the system and a slow start up so that the controlled system can be safely and properly reset. The thread design is such that the motion in one direction will override the threads but prevent reverse action except by turning.

    Abstract: A bulk material container with an opening has a door arranged to move over a rectilinear path for the opening and the closing of the opening. For moving the door over a rectilinear path to either open or close the opening, a threaded shaft is journalled for rotation within the container and is aligned axially with the center of the door. Means on the threaded shaft engage the door so that the door is moved over the rectilinear path by the rotation of the threaded shaft. A gasket surrounds the opening at the time of closure of the door. Continued rotation of the shaft for the closure of the door will cause the gasket to be compressed against the plate surrounding the opening. Rotation of the door is inhibited while the gasket is being compressed.

    Abstract: A valve housing has a valve seat surrounding a fluid passageway, a valve closure member cooperating with the valve seat to close the passageway. A valve actuating spindle for controlling the position of the valve closure member extends through a tubular part of the valve housing, the end of the tubular part remote from the valve seat forming itself a housing for a gland seal. The wall of the tubular part at the inner end of the gland housing is displaced radially inwardly to form, within the tubular part, an annular constriction which surrounds the spindle with a clearance and which forms an abutment towards which an annular packing within the gland housing is urged by a gland fitted to the outer end of the gland housing, to seal the spindle to the valve housing.
