  • Patent number: 7410257
Abstract: Disclosed is a slit lamp microscope capable of forming a slit superior in terms of parallelism. The slit lamp microscope includes casings (100L and 100R) to the bottoms surfaces of which slit blades (107L) and (107R) are fixed and which are connected together so as to be rotatable around shaft members (102), and an inter-casing distance varying member (87) adapted to change the distance between the casings (100L and 100R) in correspondence with vertical movement of an ascent/descent shaft (86). Coil-like portions of torsion springs (103) are wound around the shaft members (102) to which the casings (100L and 100R) are connected. The torsion springs (103) urge the casings (100L and 100R) so as to bring the slit blades (107L and 107R) close to each other. Further, the casings (100L and 100R) are equipped with U-shaped springs (106) urging protrusions (100L? and 100R?) thereof so as to press them against the shaft members (102).

  • Patent number: 7144207
Abstract: In a valve disposed between a fluid supply and a socket of a chuck and configured to regulate the flow of the fluid to the socket. There is a seal screw for modulating a preload tension. This seal screw has a first sealing surface. The valve further includes a second sealing surface in opposing relation to the first sealing surface and an elastomer seal ring disposed between the first sealing surface and the second sealing surface. The valve is configured to form a seal between the first sealing surface, the second sealing surface, and the elastomer seal in response to a force less than or equal to the preload tension being exerted in line with the seal screw. In this manner, the valve is configured to allow the flow of the fluid between the first sealing surface and the second sealing surface in response to a force exceeding the preload tension being exerted in line with the seal screw.

  • Patent number: 6273397
Abstract: An air conditioner access fitting includes a valve body having a threaded bore and an annular valve seat extending around the bore. A twist-to-open valve is disposed in the bore and threadedly engaged with the valve body. The valve includes a valve element configured to form a metal-to-metal seal with the valve seat. A valve core is disposed in a second bore formed in the twist-to-open valve, and the valve core operates selectively to open and close a flow path extending through the second bore. The valve body further includes a quick connect shoulder disposed around the bore. An associated service fitting includes a quick release mechanism, a wrench for rotating the twist-to-open valve, and a valve core depressor for opening the valve core.

  • Patent number: 5316039
Abstract: A cartridge-type faucet valve is provided which includes a housing with an inlet, an outlet and an insert assembly (or cartridge) seat interposed between the inlet and outlet and for cooperating with a portion of an insert assembly or cartridge to provide a seal between the inlet and outlet. The insert assembly or cartridge includes a stationary elongated sleeve and a stem mounted within the sleeve which is longitudinally movable over a range of travel between a closed position and a fully open position. One section of the stem co-acts with the sleeve to control the longitudinal position of the stem. Another section of the stem cooperates with an internal surface portion of the sleeve to provide a longitudinally extending flow passage for communicating from the inlet to the outlet. A seal piece is mounted on the stem and is adapted for engagement with a stationary seating surface adjacent one end of the sleeve.
