  • Patent number: 9829757
Abstract: A display device includes a light source module, a first light modulation module, a first polarizer layer, and a first color modulation layer. The light source module generates a first color light that is polarized to the first light modulation module, wherein the first light modulation module selectively modulates the polarization direction of the first color light. The first polarizer layer then receives the first color light and selectively blocks, partially blocks, or does not block the first color light from passing through. The first color modulation layer receives the first color light and generates a second color light.

Abstract: A UV liquid gel solidifying device includes a support member, a UV LED module, a top cover, and a base. The UV LED module is installed on the support member and emits light into a first chamber of the support member. The support member is disposed on the base, and the base has a third chamber defined there beneath. The top cover is assembled on the support member and has a slide cover slideably mounted thereto. When the slide cover moves toward a first direction, the first open end and the second open end are opened so that the user's fingernails can be put in the first chamber for treatment. When the slide cover is released to revert back to close the first open end and the second open end, the user's eyes can avoid from being directly exposed to the UV light. When the toenails are to be treated, the base can be conveniently disassembled from the support member, and the toenails to be treated are inserted into the first chamber for treatment.

  • Patent number: 8220379
Abstract: A UV camouflaging substance, in the form of a solid, powder, paste, film, or liquid, can be applied to objects such as fabrics to match the ultraviolet reflectivity of the objects with their immediate surroundings. Embodiments are transparent to visible and IR light, and can be applied without changing the visible appearance of the objects. Other embodiments visibly match the surrounding environment, such as a white substance used near snow. Different embodiments can be layered on top of each other to form UV camouflage textures and to adapt to changing environments. Some embodiments can be washed off, to avoid a build-up of camouflage layers. Embodiments include UV-interactive micro- or nano-particles suspended in a binding agent which transmit, reflect, absorb and/or scatter ultraviolet rays. Some particles are absorbent, while others are approximately one-quarter wavelength thick, and suppress UV light by inducing half-wavelength phase shifts between light reflected from opposing surfaces.

Abstract: A light emitting composition including first color emitters and second color emitters. The first color emitters are configured to emit, upon exposure to an energy source, visible light at a target color in response to absorption of energy across a first band of wavelengths. The second color emitters are configured to emit, upon exposure to the energy source, visible light at the target color in response to absorption of energy across a second band of wavelengths. The light intensity observable at the target color is enhanced relative to reflected white light without emission from the first and second color emitters. The light emitting composition can be a part of a paint, an ink, a fabric, a thread, a road sign, a highway marking, an automobile, a boat, a plane, a reflector, a building product, a concrete product, an epoxy product, a jewelry product, colored contact lens, a candle product, a rubber product, a plastic product, or other colored surface.
