Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for a system for raising and permanently supporting a sunken building foundation footing. The system includes a cylindrical sleeve disposed inside a hole cored through the footing from a top surface of the footing adjacent a stem wall to a bottom surface of the footing, wherein the sleeve has an inner diameter large enough for pier extensions to pass through. A bracket positioned on the top surface of the footing over the sleeve has a center hole with a diameter equal to or greater than the inner diameter of the sleeve. The system may further include a mechanical connection from the bracket to the footing configured to carry a foundation lifting force from a hydraulic ram.
Abstract: An apparatus, system and method for raising and lowering a building, wherein a yoke receives the end of a building lifting beam and travels vertically on a vertical guide. The yoke is connected to a jack, and the yoke and jack are provided with independently releasable locking means. In operation, the jack is locked on the guide at an initial supporting position to allow the yoke to move, and then the yoke is locked on the guide to allow the jack to move to a new supporting position on the guide, allowing the yoke to climb up and down the guide through alternating component lockings and movements.
Abstract: A dual ratchet pawl jacking system, device, and method are presented for raising and/or lowering a platform bearing carriage along a vertical support. The ratchet pawls alternate supporting the weight of the carriage by engaging against a series of lugs on the vertical support. A first pawl is attached to the main frame of the carriage, and a second pawl is attached to a sub-carriage assembly that slides upward and downward within the carriage frame. A hydraulic jack applies a force upon the sub-carriage, causing the sub-carriage to move within the frame. The weight of the carriage is alternately borne by each pawl as the other pawl is relocated to a new lug. A pair of triggers is used to retract the first pawl and second pawl from the support. The triggers may be enabled to facilitate lowering the carriage, or disabled to facilitate raising the carriage.
Abstract: A clutchable pry bar includes a bar member with a fitting connector; a rack member fitted with the fitting connector of the bar member, including two slots adjacent to a closed end of the rack member, and including two through holes proximate to an opened end of the rack member; a ratchet shaft inserted to the through hole of the rack member, and including a first end portion disposed on one end thereof; at least one ratchet member fitted to the ratchet shaft, a plate member movably fixed to the slots of the rack member, a returning spring between pegs of the plate member and a central extension of the bar member; a stem member to be retained with the ratchet shaft after the stem member is inserted to a radial bore of the ratchet shaft.
Abstract: A locking device installed in a cargo support to lock a retractable tube, including a holder frame fastened to the outer tube of the retractable tube, a rack moved in a longitudinal sliding way defined between two parallel lugs of the holder frame, a driving lever pivoted to the holder frame for moving the rack, and a locking block pivoted to the holder frame and retained by a spring to lock the driving lever, wherein a L-shaped locating plate is mounted in the holder frame for the positioning of the outer tube of the retractable tube, having a round hole on a transverse section thereof through which the inner tube is inserted into the outer tube, two stop flanges bilaterally extended from a longitudinal section thereof and respectively engaged with respective end notches on the holder frame, and a lug extended from one stop flange and fastened to a lug at the holder frame; the holder frame and the locking block are respectively made of iron.
Abstract: A bumper jack for vehicles is provided having improved stability. This bumper jack includes the usual ratchet bar and load lifting housing mounted on the bar for movement therealong. According to the novel feature, the load lifting housing comprises steel side walls surrounding the ratchet bar, with these side walls at one side of the ratchet bar forming a lower inclined bumper engageable ledge and an upper inclined bumper engageable ledge. At the lower edge of each ledge is an upwardly projecting finger member, with each finger having an upwardly and outwardly sloping edge adjacent a ledge, forming a trough between the finger and the ledge. These fingers are adapted to extend through a pair of vertically aligned slots in a bumper, thereby providing both lateral stability and fore and aft stability when lifting a vehicle.
