Abstract: A self-propelled mower includes a mover main body; a battery, an electric generator, or an engine; a protruding wing that protrudes sideward, the protruding wing being retractable and an extension length of the protruding wing being variable; mowing units protruding from a front face of the mover main body and a front face of the protruding wing, each including a movable blade that reciprocates or rotates to cut grasses driven by an electric motor or the engine, the electric motor being powered by battery or the electric generator. The mover main body moves on a slope face while being towed, via a traction rope, by a straddle-type mover body that moves straddling on a guard rail installed on top of a slope of a bank; or moves on the ground or in the air while being suspended by a suspension rope hung from a spanning cable spanning in the air.

Abstract: The invention relates to a lifting device with a housing having a drive wheel, a friction disk brake, a load wheel and a gear arranged sequentially in an axial direction inside the housing. The drive shaft extends through the friction disk brake and the load wheel. A torque is transmitted from the drive wheel to the load wheel. The drive wheel cannot move axially on the drive shaft, but can rotate over a limited range relative to the drive shaft. The drive wheel can rotate in a limited fashion relative to a brake disk, which is axially moveable on a threaded section of the drive shaft and can be pressed with the help of a friction disk against a pressure disk that is attached to the housing. The drive wheel forms a component of the friction disk brake.
Abstract: A drum drive assembly for cranes which use a load hoist line reeled onto a load hoist line drum to lift loads allows the load hoist line drum to be disconnected from the drum drive motor to permit the load hoist line drum to rotate independent of the drum drive motor. The drum drive assembly comprises one or more motors for rotating the load hoist line drum to either pay out or reel in the load hoist line; a brake for slowing, stopping or preventing the rotation of the load hoist line drum; and a jaw clutch which may be disengaged to permit the load hoist line drum to rotate independently of the motor.
Abstract: A distributor for independent plural drive inputs (14,15) to plural drive outputs (12,13), especially for sailing craft, enables permutation of drives e.g. both to one output, both to the other or independently to each. Dog clutches (34-37) are engageable with both sides of the drive input sprockets (14,15) in various combinations. They are controlled by rotational setting of a cam shaft (20) with a plurality of face cams (21-24) respectively interacting with cam-follower discs (30-33) on the dog clutches.
Abstract: A winding arrangement suitable for sheeting in a sail of a yacht comprising a winch drum and a piston cylinder assembly having a double-acting piston which is reciprocable within a cylinder. A rack member, coupled to the piston, produces unidirectional rotation of the winch drum through a particular clutch and gear system. A manually operated pump is arranged to supply fluid under pressure to the piston-cylinder assembly through supply pipes and a valve which directs the fluid supplied by the pump to opposite ends of the cylinder alternately, thereby to reciprocate the piston and rotate the winch drum.
Abstract: In a machine comprising a plurality of driven working implements, at least one common main drive is provided, which has a main drive shaft, from which at least some of the working implements are driven directly through the intermediary of non-positive clutches associated with the respective working implements. Such machine can be operated in an energy-saving and ecologically satisfactory manner and also permits a saving of material and nevertheless can be used for a large number of purposes and to perform a plurality of operations often required in specific fields of application.
Abstract: Apparatus for suspending a scaffold or the like, used for working on the outer walls of buildings, comprising a capstan made up of four pairs of pulleys driven by an electric motor. The pulleys have grooves for receiving suspension cables, each of which is wound over a pair of pulleys in five turns. On the slack-portion side, each cable is guided over a traverse mechanism, then runs onto a reel mounted via friction couplings on a shaft. This shaft is driven by the motor when the scaffold is raised, while during the descent it is locked by a monodirectional coupling, a driving wheel then being free on the shaft. A safety release device intended to intervene in case of lessening of the tractive force yielded by the friction couplings is combined with the traverse mechanism. If the tension of the slack portion of cable drops below a given threshold, a safety release cuts off the current supply to the motor and actuates an electromagnetic brake.
Abstract: A double-drum winch having a single power transmission train for both a hook drum and a boom drum. The power transmission train comprises a high speed clutch and a low speed clutch mounted on a single first clutch shaft which is in turn mounted for rotation on a winch frame, a hook lowering clutch and a boom lowering clutch mounted on a single second clutch shaft which is in turn rotatably mounted on the frame, and a hook hoisting clutch and a boom hoisting clutch mounted on a single third clutch shaft which is in turn rotatably mounted on the frame, the second clutch shaft being located between the first and third clutch shafts and engageable with both the clutch shafts. The power transmission train is connected with the hook drum and the boom drum via a hook brake shaft and a boom brake shaft, respectively.
