  • Patent number: 8348247
Abstract: A flexible tubing for fine bubble aeration is provided with an air passageway defined in part by an upper portion and a lower portion. The tubing can be made of a uniform weighted material with more material in the lower portion than in the upper portion. This makes the tubing self-orienting, in that it will tend to orient itself with micro-slits along the upper portion facing upward and the lower portion facing downward when submerged in a body of water. An automated, one-stage production line converts raw tubing material to a finished tubing product without the need for separate processing. A method of coiling the tubing places the micro-slits approximately 90° away from the surface of a spool hub, thereby avoiding a longitudinal arch in the tubing and ultimately preventing roll-over and improper slit orientation after installation in a water body.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a sheet from renewable raw materials. In the method, after mixing a composition to produce a sheet from renewable raw materials, this composition is applied to a conveyor belt. Protruding materials or unevennesses are eliminated with the aid of a device, preferably a simple doctor blade. Without supplying heat, the composition is then subjected to a first drying process on the conveyor belt, before the endless sheet created in this way is cut into sections. The sections are then passed on to final drying in a storage device. After complete drying, regions at the extremities of the sections that have been adversely affected by cutting up the endless sheet are removed from these sections and chopped up into chips. These chips are returned to the further production process in a final method step by feeding them into the composition for producing a sheet from renewable raw materials.

Abstract: In the simultaneous molding and decorating method for forming an image onto the surface of a resin molding simultaneously with resin molding by holding a decoration sheet on which the image is rotary printed in a die, such a decoration sheet as having a predetermined pattern for every revolution of the cylinder of a printing machine wherein the image is formed in the longitudinal direction at a constant interval is used. By holding the decoration sheet longer than one revolution but shorter than two revolutions of that in the die and performing resin molding, the image is formed onto the surface of a long molding exceeding the outer circumference of the cylinder.

Abstract: The present invention provides an exemplary process for manufacturing a flexible packaging laminate into a pouch for containing liquids such as edible oil. The process includes taking granules of polypropylene and medium density polyethylene in a proportion of 1-1.5:1.5-2.5, —melting the granules at 200-230 degrees Celsius in a 3 layer blown film extruder to form a co-extruded film, —printing the film by a Rotogravure printing technique at 40-60 degrees Celsius, —laminating the printed film with a conventional 5 layer co-extruded nylon film at 60-80 degrees Celsius, —curing the laminated film at 35-45 degrees Celsius for at least 2 days, —and slitting the cured laminated film to a desired size for using with a Form Fill Seal machine (FFS Machine) at 160-180 degrees Celsius, to make pouches that hold liquids, such as edible oil.
