  • Patent number: 11865746
Abstract: In a composite sheet manufacturing device, a second roller having a plurality of first projections and a third roller are disposed so as to be adjacent to a first roller having multiple recessed areas. The outer diameters of the first and third rollers are the same size. The third roller is joined to the first roller with a first gear pair therebetween, so as to rotate at the same rotation frequency as that of the first roller. A first sheet that is fed in between the first roller and the second roller is shaped by being pushed into the recessed areas of the first roller by the first projections of the second roller. A second sheet is then superimposed onto the first sheet and is passed through the space between the first roller and the third roller, and the first and second sheets are thereby bonded to each other.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for creating a motor vehicle seat cushion. The inventive method provides for a cover having a format of a complex comprising a layer of covering material and a sublayer of elastically compressible foam, and for arranging on the sublayer a film based on thermoplastic polyurethane. The film has a melting point and a melt mass-flow index that breaks down under the action of the heat released during the formation of the foam. The film is provided with a reinforcing thin-film to form a two-layer barrier against the penetration of foam. The reinforcing thin-film is based on a thermoplastic polyurethane with a melting point higher than that of the film and has a melt mass-flow index lower than that of the film, to have greater strength than the film so that the reinforcing thin-film breakdown under the action of heat is delayed.

Abstract: A roller blind system for a rear window of a motor vehicle, having a roller blind, a roller blind shaft rotatable about a main axis and a sheet-like structure which, in a stowed state, is wound on the roller blind shaft and which, in a functional state, is partially unwound from the roller blind shaft, and having an shelf for arranging in the rear region of the motor vehicle. The shelf has front and rear shelf portions separated from one another by a passage slot through which the sheet-like structure is moved during a movement from the stowed state into the functional state. The two shelf portions are connected to one another via a trough body and the roller blind shaft is arranged within the trough body and is rotatably mounted by bearing blocks which are fastened to, or are an integral part of, the trough body.

Abstract: In polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cells and electrolyzes, attaining and maintaining high membrane conductivity and durability is crucial for performance and efficiency. The use of low equivalent weight (EW) perfluorinated ionomers is one of the few options available to improve membrane conductivity. However, excessive dimensional changes of low EW ionomers upon application of wet/dry or freeze/thaw cycles yield catastrophic losses in membrane integrity. Incorporation of ionomers within porous, dimensionally-stable perforated polymer electrolyte membrane substrates provides improved PEM performance and longevity. The present invention provides novel methods using micromolds to fabricate the perforated polymer electrolyte membrane substrates. These novel methods using micromolds create uniform and well-defined pore structures. In addition, these novel methods using micromolds described herein may be used in batch or continuous processing.

Abstract: Systems and methods for the fabrication of prepregs possessing enhanced ability for the removal of gases from within prepregs and prepreg layups prior to and/or during at least a portion of consolidation and cure process to form composite structures are disclosed. In certain embodiments, perforations of selected configurations may be introduced into the prepregs prior to, during, and after layup. The perforations provide routes for gases trapped within and between the perforated prepregs and prepreg lay-ups to escape during consolidation and cure process, reducing the residual porosity within the resulting composite. For example, composites having residual porosities less than 10 vol. %, on the basis of the volume of the composite, may be achieved in this manner.

Abstract: A stent comprising a tubular stent matrix of which diameter is extendable and a flexible polymer layer covering the stent matrix. The polymer layer is closely attached to and covers the entire surface of the stent matrix. Since the flexible polymer layer closely covers the entire surface of the stent matrix not only the outer periphery of the stent matrix, the stent has no problem of causing allergic to metal, stimulus of tissues due to metal, and rust development. Since the inner periphery of the stent is a flat and smooth surface covered by the polymer layer without convexes and concaves, the formation of thrombus can be inhibited well. There is no problem of drift between the polymer layer and the stent matrix, thereby maintaining the positional relationship between the stent matrix and the polymer layer before and after the expansion of the stent.
