Patent number: 8771572Abstract: Various embodiments herein include utilities for generating embosser drums that are used to pre-format optical media such as optical tape with a pattern of nanostructures such as wobbled grooves. One utility includes generating a plurality of replicas from an embossing master, bonding the replicas together to form a bonded replica structure having a surface with the nanostructure pattern imprinted therein, creating a replica of the bonded replica structure and electroforming a metallic layer onto the bonded replica structure replica to create a single, one piece, metallic shim which can be used to create a weld-less embosser drum.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2011Date of Patent: July 8, 2014Assignee: Oracle International CorporationInventors: Faramarz Mahnad, Joseph J. Publication number: 20140178644Abstract: A structure and method for a post plate of a die set that can be used to emboss a plurality of contact pads of a flexible printed circuit during the formation of a printer printhead. In one embodiment, a plurality of post plate posts can be formed, where each post plate post has a flat upper surface, generally straight sides, and a sharp corner where the flat upper surface and the generally straight sides intersect. Each post can be polished using, for example, a pad and an abrasive polishing compound or an electrochemical polishing process, to round the sharp corners to form a post having a rounded contour. In another embodiment, a plurality of post plate posts each having a rounded contour can be formed using a molding process.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 20, 2012Publication date: June 26, 2014Applicant: XEROX CORPORATIONInventors: Peter J. Publication number: 20140175698Abstract: A method for forming a maintenance hole base for the bottom surface of a maintenance shaft using a configurable modular mold and thermoforming or rotational molding. The modular mold is formed of individual members of groups of central core components engageable to surrounding periphery components to yield a mold which will form the appropriate engagement and communication pathways for the base when installed. Polymeric material is employed with the mold to yield a finished component configured for use in the base of the maintenance shaft.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 17, 2012Publication date: June 26, 2014Inventors: Joseph McRoskey, John W. Publication number: 20140166389Abstract: In an ear tip and a method of manufacturing the same, the ear tip includes a sound transfer part including a hollow shaft and an external sheet and an acoustic absorbent making contact with the external sheet and the hollow shaft. The hollow shaft has a cylindrical shape of which a circumferential surface is flat and provides a sound conduit for transferring audio signals. The external sheet is extended from an end portion of the hollow shaft in such a way that the hollow shaft is enclosed with the external sheet and a gap space is provided between the external sheet and the hollow shaft. The acoustic absorbent is positioned in the gap space and has a plurality of pores, thereby absorbing surrounding noises and preventing the surrounding noises from transferring into user's ear.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 11, 2013Publication date: June 19, 2014Applicant: APK CO., LTD.Inventor: Yoon Young-Mun
