  • Patent number: 11279066
Abstract: A process is for manufacturing a complex motor vehicle glazing including a glass pane, an elastomer seal and a metal insert overmolded by the elastomer seal. The process includes inserting an edge of a glass pane and a metal insert into an encapsulation mold forming a leaktight cavity around the edge of the glass pane, filling the leaktight cavity containing the edge of the glass pane and the metal insert, by injecting an encapsulation composition including a polypropylene (PP)/thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) compound in the molten state, cooling the encapsulation composition to form an elastomer seal in which the metal insert is integrated, and releasing the elastomer seal from the mold. The PP/TPE compound includes from 30% to 80% by weight of polypropylene (PP) and the metal insert is covered over its entire surface liable to come into contact with the encapsulation composition, with a polypropylene coating.

Abstract: An encapsulation mold is provided, which may include an upper mold, a lower mold and a clamping device. The clamping device includes a rubber anti-slip block fixed to a joint surface of the upper mold, and a rubber anti-slip block fixed to a joint surface of the lower mold, wherein both of the rubber anti-slip blocks can fix the glass tightly. Therefore, after the upper mold and the lower mold are pressed against each other, these rubber anti-slip blocks may deform and apply a couple of forces having opposite directions to the glass. Under this couple of forces, the glass can be completely fixed in the encapsulation mold, which can avoid glass to be crushed caused by glass moving during injection molding. Meanwhile, because these rubber anti-slip blocks are elastic, they can play an anti-slip role and prop the glass, which may prevent the glass 40 from breakage.

  • Patent number: 7871555
Abstract: A method for producing a profiled bead made of a plastic, particularly of a polymer, on a piece, particularly on a window pane. In the method at least a partial portion of an edge region or lateral face region of a surface of the piece is brought into contact with a forming face. The plastic is deposited stuck to at least part of the periphery of a surface of the piece untouched by the forming face and the external dimensions of the profiled bead formed are also defined by the forming face. The forming face is pressed against the edge region or lateral face region of the fixed piece using a flat support, the shape of which can vary under the pressure of a fluid. This then gives a better matching of the forming face to the contour and to any dimensional discrepancies of the piece.

Abstract: A filter cartridge is described that is designed to accommodate for example dual stage filtration. The filter cartridge has an endplate structure formed of a heat cured material, such as polyurethane, where at least one of the top end and the bottom end of the outer filter and the inner filter are embedded within the heat cured material. The heat cured material can provide an endplate structure that is convenient for manufacture and that has one or more sealing surfaces to seal with a housing that the filter cartridge is assembled with. For example, the heat cured material of the endplate can seal non-filtered fluid from filtered fluid that has passed through each of the filtration stages available in the cartridge.

Abstract: A valve for selectively permitting a fluid flow between first and second medical implements is disclosed. The valve has a housing with an interface suitable for receiving a connector portion of a first medical device such as a catheter, and a seal made of a flexible material. The seal has a first end in fluid communication with the interface, a second end suitable for receiving the second medical device, and at least one slit in fluid communication with the first end and the second end. The slit defines a restricted fluid flow path and a relatively small interior volume when in an undisturbed state, defines an expanded fluid flow path and a larger interior volume upon the introduction of the second medical instrument into the slit, and retracts to define a restricted flow path and a small interior volume upon the withdrawal of the second medical device from the seal.

Abstract: The invention provides a method for manufacturing a seal integrally provided with conducting members, the method capable of suppressing generation of burrs even if the conducting members have complicated structures, e.g., when the conducting members are laid on each other while displaced from each other. In the method for manufacturing the seal provided with the plurality of FPCs 21, 22 and 23 laid on each other, while displaced from each other, leakage preventing portions 31, 32, 33, and 34 for preventing leakage of a seal material from a cavity C are formed in a portion of a gap formed between the FPCs 21 and 23 and at portions of surfaces of the FPC 23 and FPC 22 before the FPCs 21, 22, and 23 are disposed in a mold. In this way, it is possible to prevent the leakage of the seal material in molding a seal member 11.
