  • Patent number: 9028737
Abstract: Provided is a technology with which, when producing a resin molded article, the inside of which is provided with an insert component such as a terminal fitting, it is possible to prevent the insert component from being exposed at an inappropriate position, and to ensure the desired positional accuracy. In an injection molding device, the accuracy of the position of a terminal is improved by allowing a core-back mold to move after a terminal, which is an insert component, has been inserted in a terminal tip holding section of a slide mold. By allowing the core-back mold to move by only a prescribed amount prior to injection molding, a resin wall is formed between the core-back mold and the terminal. The inappropriate exposure and shorting of and the adhesion of foreign substances to, and the like, the terminal can thus be prevented.

Abstract: A method (300) of making an interior automotive panel (100). The method (300) includes placing at least one three dimensional panel component (110) on a first mold component (410) having a mold surface (412) shaped to form the exterior surface of the interior automotive panel (100). The at least one three-dimensional panel component (110) has an exterior surface in contact with the mold surface (412). The method (300) includes registering a registration feature (114) of the at least one three-dimensional panel component (110) with a groove defined by the mold surface (412) of the first mold component (410) and positioning a second mold component (420) in registered communication with the first mold component (410). Together the first and second mold components (410, 420) define a void in the shape of the interior automotive panel (100).

Abstract: Molds are disclosed for forming golf-ball covers by casting. An exemplary mold includes first and second support members that are placeable in face-to-face opposition to each other. At least one respective mold-cavity insert, defining a respective hemispherical cavity, is mounted to each support member. The mold-cavity insert is floatable in at least three (e.g., x, y, z) degrees of freedom relative to the respective support member. Each mold-cavity insert on the first support member is in face-to-face opposition to a respective mold-cavity insert on the second support member whenever the support members are in face-to-face opposition to each other, such that the respective hemispherical cavities of each opposing pair of inserts form respective spherical ball-cover cavities. A respective z-direction bias is associated with each mold-cavity insert. Also, a respective self-centering device is associated with each opposing pair of inserts.

Abstract: A method for forming an integral faucet core assembly comprises steps as follows: In step 1, a die for one-time molding and cores relatively set on the die are prepared to one-time mold a body with two inlet channels, at least one outlet channel, and at least one middle fluid channel; the middle fluid channel is arranged perpendicular to the two inlet channels; exteriors of the channels are respectively provided with an inlet, an outlet, and a core-pulling hole; further, a plug is formed by a plug die for densely sealing the core-pulling hole. In step 2, the plug and a sealing ring are installed in the core-pulling hole of the body so as to form an insert for an over molding. In step 3, the insert is placed into a die for the over molding so as to be wrapped in a covering, thereby facilitating the plug being set correlative to the body. An integral faucet core assembly is achieved after the drawing of the die.

Abstract: Constructs including a blank and a body formed from liquid molding material are provided. The blank may be hermetically sealed to the body. For example, a mold assembly may injection mold the blank to the body. The mold assembly may include a male mold and a female mold that cooperatively define a first cavity and a second cavity. The first cavity may receive a peripheral margin of the blank and the second cavity may receive the remainder of the blank. Liquid molding material may be directed into the first cavity to form the body of the construct. The liquid molding material may be directed into the first cavity in a manner that avoids bending the peripheral margin of the blank such that a tight seal is established between the blank and the body of the construct and the blank retains a planar configuration.
