    Abstract: A method for producing an abradable seal for a turbomachine, such as a turbojet engine low-pressure compressor. The method comprises the following steps performed as follows: (a) preheating of a metal mould in a furnace; (b) filling of the hot mould with a powdery aluminium-based mixture; (c) degassing of the mixture in the mould; (d) compacting of the mixture in the still-hot mould at ambient temperature, so as to solidify the mixture in the mould. The abradable seal is thus produced in angular segments that form tiles. The angular segments are then bonded into a composite casing of the turbomachine.

The composite layer is removed from the substrate using a stripping agent that dissolves the template polymer without dissolving the particles. The particles are then isolated.

The forming element has a high thermal conductivity and a low thermal mass. The step of heating the forming element forming surface includes heating it to a temperature greater than the softening point of the heat-deformable material of the applicator portion. The time required to heat and form the portion of the tampon applicator is less than about 90 seconds. These steps are repeated for subsequent tampon applicators.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to an injection molding process that improves recovery limited productivity. The present invention advantageously applies pressurized fluid within the nozzle of an injection molding machine to improve the machine's productivity. In accordance with one aspect of the invention, an existing or new injection molding machine is outfitted with a pressurized fluid system at the nozzle between the plasticizer barrel and the melt manifold. The use of a specialized nozzle and isolation valve allows the pressurized fluid to displace material within the nozzle and runner, ensuring the proper pressure is applied to the plastic resin within the mold during pack and hold while the plasticizing screw can begin its recovery cycle. Finally, the pressurized fluid can be evacuated from the nozzle melt stream area either via the fluid entrance or a fluid pin.
