Utilizing Release Agent In Molding Material Patents (Class 264/300)
  • Patent number: 10343310
Abstract: The present invention describes a method (600, 600a) of forming bitumen bags (605) for packaging bitumen products into blocks or slabs. Each block/slab of bitumen (200,200a,200b,200c) is encapsulated in the bitumen bag, which is composed of a bitumen compound (160). The bitumen compound (160) is made up of about 10-30% by weight of natural bitumen and about 5-25% by weight of a synthetic rubber polymer and copolymers. The bitumen compound (160) is melted with the bitumen content and is fully miscible with the molten bitumen, leaving no residue but enhances the physical properties of the resultant bitumen mixture.

Abstract: The present invention provides a thermoplastic polyurethane composition for injection molding and a method of manufacturing the same. The thermoplastic polyurethane composition for injection molding can be easily injection-molded since a slip property is imparted to a soft segment, and can possess excellent durability properties such as heat-aging resistance, photoaging resistance, and wear resistance, and stability properties such as airbag deployment performance and anti-fogging property, as well as excellent tactile sensation and embossing quality, when a chain extender and a multifunctional polydimethylsiloxane-based compound are mixed with an isocyanate- and ether-containing polyester polyol, and can be useful in simplifying processes, reducing manufacturing costs, and simplifying facilities due to a decrease in the number of parts when molded articles are manufactured using the composition.

  • Patent number: 8637587
Abstract: Release agents with increased affinity toward nano-imprint lithography template surfaces interact strongly with the template during separation of the template from the solidified resist in a nano-imprint lithography process. The strong interaction between the surfactant and the template surface reduces the amount of surfactant pulled off the template surface during separation of a patterned layer from the template in an imprint lithography cycle. Maintaining more surfactant associated with the surface of the template after the separation of the patterned layer from the template may reduce the amount of surfactant needed in a liquid resist to achieve suitable release of the solidified resist from the template during an imprint lithography process. Strong association of the release agent with the surface of the template facilitates the formation of ultra-thin residual layers and dense fine features in nano-imprint lithography.

The method comprises (a) forming a polyurethane-forming mixture by mixing (i) a fatty acid condensation product, (ii) an IMR-enhancer compound, (iii) an isocyanate, (iv) a polyol, (v) a catalyst, and (vi) a blowing agent; (b) filling a mold with the polyurethane-forming mixture; (c) forming a molded foam article; and (d) removing the molded foam article from the mold. The IMR-enhancer compound is any liquid petroleum product within the viscosity range of products called oils.

  • Patent number: 7157036
Abstract: The present invention provides a method to reduce adhesion between a conformable region on a substrate and a pattern of a mold, which selectively comes into contact with the conformable region. The method features forming a conformable material on the substrate and contacting the conformable material with the surface. A conditioned layer is formed from the conformable material. The conditioned layer has first and second sub-portions, with the first sub-portion being solidified and the second sub-portion having a first affinity for the surface and a second affinity for the first sub-portion. The first affinity is greater than the second affinity. In this fashion, upon separation of the mold from the conditioned layer, a subset of the second sub-portion maintains contact with the mold, thereby reducing the probability that a pattern formed in the conditioned layer becomes compromised. These and other embodiments are described herein.

The presence of the microfibers greatly increases the surface area and can impart a cloth-like feel to the surface. The projecting microfibers may have a variety of forms, including frayed-end microfibers, tapered microfibers, microfibers having an expanded cross-sectional shape, and microfibers having a very high aspect ratio. A number of methods of producing unitary polymer structures with a plurality of projecting microfibers are also provided.

The materials that produce the release properties are incorporated in the plastic layer and can be extruded with it. The materials responsible for producing the release properties are organo-silicone graft polymers or organo-silicone block copolymers obtained from mercapto-functionalized silicones, such as polydimethyl-siloxanes. The materials are produced by modifying SiH-containing polysiloxane with organic, polymerizable monomers of the type that can be produced with acrylates, such as methylmethacrylate, butylacrylate, styrene or vinyl acetate.

A solvent of the dope solution on the belt evaporates, and thus a gel-like film may be formed. The peeling force of the gel-like film becomes to the maximum when the weight percentage of the remaining solvent in the gel-like film is 25 wt. %. In order to reduce the generation of mura or unevenness of the thickness, the gel-like film is peeled from a belt with a support of a peeling roller, when the weight percentage of the remaining solvent is at most 20 wt. %. The peeled gel-like film is dried in a tenter dryer and a casting chamber to be a film. After cooled in a cooling chamber, the film is wound by a winding device.
