Abstract: A collapsible core of an injection mold includes relatively movable components arrayed about an imaginary centerline. When in an operational position for molding a new product, the movable components each define a separate segment of the exterior of the core, such as side by side segments of interior features such as a continuous set of threads to be formed in a product being molded. To move between operational and retracted positions, some core components are pivotally connected to a nest of the core, and others are translatably connected to the nest. When a newly molded product is ejected from the mold, ejection movement causes the pivotally connected core components to pivot to disengage the newly formed interior features, and causes the translatably connected components to translate to disengage the newly formed interior features.

Molten plastic is injected into the mold cavity and cooled. The lifter mold member is moved toward the molded siding so as to move the molded siding panel away from the stationary mold member. The slide mold member is moved away from a portion of the lifter mold member and toward the molded siding panel so as to move the molded siding panel away from the lifter mold member and causing the rail to flex as it slides over the convex portion of the lifter mold member.

Abstract: A method of making an inverted-hook groove for a plant fiber-molded cup lid is to form an inverted-hook groove on a side surface of a plant-fiber molded cup lid, which has already been thermally compressed and shaped, processed and shaped once more to form an inverted-hook groove at the side surface of the molded cup lid so that the molded cup lid with the inverted-hook groove can be tightly and closely combined with the upper edge of a primary cup body. The method of making an inverted-hook groove for a plant-fiber molded cup lid of this invention is classified into three kinds; a method of compression shaping directly, a method of roller compression shaping and a method of air bag compression shaping.

Abstract: A mold and a method for integrally manufacturing a functional cored slab and a solid slab with a polygonal grid honeycomb structure. The mold for manufacturing the cored slab comprises a female mold and multiple male molds which are provided in the female mold. The male molds include polygonal cylinders capable of melting, dissolving, or vaporizing. A clearance exists between at least one pair of adjacent polygonal cylinders. The mold for manufacturing the solid slab is provided with a male mold main-body of polygonal cylinders which share the same shape and amount as the polygonal grids. The male mold main-body, which is made of one of the functional materials including sound insulating materials, flame retardant materials, and thermal insulating materials, is located in the frame-like female mold having a bottom plate. Clearances are provided between the adjacent male mold bodies. A casting method is adopted when manufacturing the slabs.

Abstract: Molds and processes that permit high-speed, mass production of retaining wall blocks having patterned or other processed front faces, as well as retaining wall blocks formed by such processes. The invention permits the front face of the block to be impressed with a pattern or otherwise directly processed, to allow the formation of pre-determined block front faces, while at the same time facilitating high-speed, high-volume production of blocks. A mirror image of the desired pattern can be created on a stripper shoe by selecting a desired three-dimensional surface from a naturally occurring or man made object and digitally scanning the selected three-dimensional pattern to create scanned data. The scanned data can then be used to machine a face of the stripper shoe that is the mirror image of the selected pattern.
