  • Patent number: 7641843
Abstract: The invention describes a method for producing a decorative ornamental part, eg a control key, having a symbol in relief that is defined by a clearance gap free as far as possible of webs and connections in the frame of the control key, wherein the decorative ornamental part is back-injected with a plastic melt by the plastic injection moulding process. In order to obtain a surface on the visible side of the inner part which is free of traces of clamping and retaining it is proposed: that the production method consists of a cutting operation to produce the clearance gap, that the stamping punch carrying out the cutting operation remains as a place-holder in the cut contour of the clearance gap during the injection operation, and that the subsequent injection operation producing a bond ensures the exact connection of the contour of the cut free inner part to the frame of the ornamental part.

In the method for modifying the polymer surface of the present invention, a solute is previously applied to the polymer surface. Accordingly, the solute can be permeated into the surface of the polymer swelled by the contact of the supercritical fluid. When this method is used, it is possible to permeate the solute into the polymer at a high concentration in a short period of time.

Abstract: During injection molding of a plastic product having a base wall and a sidewall, alignment of the mold parts that shape the mold cavity is maintained by conducting injected plastic material through a sequence of variable-opening throttles in a base-wall-section flow guide of the mold cavity. The openings of the throttles vary in response to variations in the thickness of a region of the sidewall section into which injected plastic material is conducted from the base-wall-section flow guide so that upon an increase in the thickness of such region the openings of the throttles in the base-wall-section flow guide decrease and so that upon a decrease in the thickness of such region the openings of the throttles in the base-wall-section flow guide increase.

Abstract: An injection molding method and an injection mold used therefor are provided, in which a molded product free from burrs, whitening and gate marks can be obtained with a simple structure mold, and it can adequately serve the needs for multicavity molding as well. In the injection molding method, molten resin material is introduced and charged into a resin reservoir and a molding cavity of an injection mold, where a depth of the resin reservoir is larger than a thickness of a communicating portion. A cut punch is moved, when a portion of the resin material in the resin reservoir is still molten, to push the molten resin in the resin reservoir back from a gate into a runner so that the cut punch not only closes the communicating portion but also cuts a resin solidified portion in the resin reservoir away from a resin molded product in the molding cavity at the communicating portion.

Abstract: In a process for producing, in particular, optical moulded parts from plastic, a first mould plate (1?) is moved in the direction of the second mould plate (2?) until the mould plates (1?, 2?) make contact at stop faces (9, 10). Subsequently, the first mould plate (1?) approaches the second mould plate (2?) through a tilting movement. In this case, plastic is injected into the cavity (15) which is formed between the first mould plate (1?) and a second mould plate (2?). Shortly before termination of the clamping movement, the two mould plates are caused to be released from one another in the region of the stop faces (9, 10). The two mould plates are then clamped in parallel.

Abstract: The invention relates to a novel method for producing precision parts, especially flat optical data carriers. According to the inventive method, the embossing procedure is program-controlled on the basis of the path function of an electromechanical or hydraulic drive of the driven mold half. When a servomotor is used, the internal path signal thereof can be directly used for calculating the path function or for operating the program control. The novel method allows for a complete speed control of the embossing phase. All factors that can be mechanically influenced from the exterior are detected in more detail for the conditions before and during the embossing phase, thereby allowing for an optimum precision and reproducibility.
