Conveying Or Aligning Particulate Material Patents (Class 264/437)
  • Patent number: 5545368
Abstract: A method of magnetically reinforcing a composite component including the steps of adding a composite mixture of a solidifyable material and magnetically attractable reinforcing particles to a mold, applying selectively a magnetic field to a predetermined location of the mold, migrating translationally the magnetically attractable reinforcing particles by the magnetic field to the predetermined location of the mold, and solidifying the composite mixture after the magnetically attractable reinforcing particles have migrated to the predetermined location of the mold.

  • Patent number: 5510076
Abstract: A method and apparatus for recycling previously used agricultural plastic film mulch in which the plastic film mulch is fed by a conveyor along a predetermined path of travel, while being agitated and shaken on the conveyor to dislodge and remove dirt and debris therefrom, shredding the plastic film mulch into discreet pieces in a shredder while removing additional dirt and debris therefrom, conveying the shredded plastic film mulch through a vertical separator along a second, tortuous path of travel, while drying the shredded plastic mulch by heated air and agitating the plastic film mulch by projections extending into the second path of travel to dislodge and remove still further dirt and debris therefrom, and extruding the cleaned and shredded plastic film mulch into a reusable form in an extruder, which melts the plastic film mulch, screens solids from the molten plastic, and extrudes the molten plastic into a reusable form, such as pellets.

  • Patent number: 5453224
Abstract: A hollow member, which serves as a cylinder having an inner configuration which matches the outer configuration of a magnet roller to be manufactured, is mounted in a metallic mold, and then the metallic mold is clamped. A molten resin containing magnetic particles is injected into the mold cavity of hollow member through a runner. Magnetic lines of force are applied to a roller type resin magnet, and such an application is continued. Before the roller type magnetic resin is fully cured, the mold is opened. Then, the magnetic members of a movable mold member 1 are separated from the magnetic members of a stationary mold member, so that the distribution of the magnetic flux passing through the hollow member is changed. When the roller type resin magnet is fully cured by cooling, a magnet roller having two pairs of magnetic poles with different surface magnetic flux densities can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 4732722
Abstract: A crosslinked polyolefin insulated power cable with remarkably improved AC breakdown voltage and impulse withstand voltage has been obtained by a process which comprises extrustion-coating, on the outer surface of a conductor, (1) a material for the formation of an inner semiconductive layer, comprising a base polymer and N-vinylcarbazole, (2) a crosslinkable polyolefin material for the formation of a crosslinked polyolefin insulating layer and (3) a material for the formation of an outer semiconductive layer in this order and then subjecting the coated conductor to a crosslinking treatment to form, on the outer surface of the conductor, an inner semiconductive layer, a crosslinked polyolefin insulating layer and an outer semiconductive layer in this order.
