Labeling Or Embossing Indicia Patents (Class 264/509)
  • Patent number: 10611509
Abstract: A system for labeling a container includes a label forming section, a buffer section, and a bonding section. The label forming section includes a first rotatable turret having a plurality of forming mandrels. The buffer section includes a second rotatable turret having a plurality of buffer receptacles. The bonding section includes a third rotatable turret having a plurality of bonding stations. The label forming section forms a label in a frustoconical shape using one of the forming mandrels and transfers the label to one of the buffer receptacles of the buffer section. The buffer section receives, in a buffer receptacle, the label followed by a container blank, and transfers the label and the container blank together to one of the bonding stations of the bonding section. The bonding section bonds the label to the container blank in the bonding station.

  • Patent number: 9808984
Abstract: The objects of this invention are to set a predetermined height position for the portion of parison or preform that is the first to come in contact with body molding planes of a split mold and to prevent air from being trapped between in-mold labels and the container which is blow molded from the parison or the preform. In-mold labels are fixed to the entire outer surface of body of main container. An annular thinnest wall portion is formed in the wall of the body so that the thinnest wall portion is the first to come in contact with the body molding planes of a split mold. Under this construction, no bulge of air is formed between the body and the in-mold labels fixed to the entire surface of the body.

Abstract: A labeler for in-mold labeling of plastic bottles as well as to a labeling method for use of the labeler, including that a transfer star wheel and a transfer device of the labeler move the preforms and the labels in a transfer region towards one another in such a way that a respective label is only affixed to a circumferential subarea of a perform. In this manner, the label can be inserted in the blow mold in a particularly fast and reliable manner and excessive stretching of the label during blow molding can be avoided.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a first operating machine arranged for processing objects, a second operating machine positioned downstream of the first operating machine and arranged for further processing the objects, an accumulating arrangement interposed between the first operating machine and the second operating machine and arranged for receiving the objects, and a command and control arrangement arranged for detecting a parameter indicating the quantity of the objects contained in the accumulating arrangement and regulating the operation of the second operating machine on the basis of the parameter. A method includes dispensing synthetic plastics in a pasty state, compression-moulding the plastics to obtain a perform, blowing the perform to obtain a container, and filling the container with a product. Each step maintains its own regulated temperature so that the dispensing temperature is greater than the blowing temperature and the blowing temperature is greater than the filling temperature.

Abstract: A single-sided shuttle-type blow molding apparatus having an extruder for substantially continuously extruding a thermoplastic material in tubular form at a moldable temperature downwardly along a vertical axis. The apparatus includes a mold having a set of mold parts adapted to open and close relative to each other to define, when closed, a mold cavity. A shuttle having the mold mounted thereon is arranged to move along a closed path from a first position wherein the mold engages, when open, a finite length of the thermoplastic tube, to a second position away from the first position. The apparatus further includes a blow head adapted to blow the finite length of the thermoplastic tube to form the container as the mold moves from the first position to the second position of the closed path. The apparatus includes no more than one mold. A method is also described.

Abstract: A method includes heating a thermoplastic sheet to a predetermined temperature, and placing the heated sheet between a male die and a female die. The female die has a grain pattern on an inner surface thereof and a plurality of minute holes extending therethrough. The method further includes closing the male die and the female die to press the sheet against the inner surface of the female die, drawing the sheet to the female die by vacuum pressure through the plurality of minute holes, and thereby the grain pattern on the female die is transferred to the sheet. After that, thermoplastic molten plastic material is injected into a space between the laminate material and the male die, and is cooled down so that the plastic product is formed by integrating the sheet and the injected material.

In-mold labels 7 are fixed to the entire outer surface of body 4 of main container 1. An annular thinnest wall portion 4a is formed in the wall of the body 4 so that the thinnest wall portion 4a is the first to come in contact with the body molding planes 14 of a split mold 13.
