  • Patent number: 7249756
Abstract: The invention disclosed is a low-profile, multi-axis, highly passively damped, vibration isolation mount which when used in multiplicity provides a complete vibration load isolation mounting system. The device provides in unique fashion a very low profile interface in combination with independently determinable compliance in all directions of vibration loading. Substantial passive damping is afforded without sacrifice to strength and linearity of behavior through adaptation of a shear wall type constrained layer damping. The result is a highly passively damped vibration isolation device that provides a very low profile interface, wide ranging longitudinal and lateral compliance management, in a durable, reliable, lightweight, and compact form.

  • Patent number: 7216857
Abstract: A hydraulic antivibration device is provided that is capable of suppressing generation of strange sounds while ensuring a low dynamic spring characteristic upon inputting of relatively small amplitude vibration and a high damping characteristic upon inputting of relatively large amplitude vibration. To that end, upon inputting of relatively large amplitude vibration, displacement-regulating ribs of one of sandwiching members serve to regulate displacement of an elastic partition membrane pinched by the sandwiching members thus obtaining a high damping characteristic. The displacement-regulating ribs consist of three pieces extending radially and rectilinearly, so that the area of openings of the sandwiching members is made wide enough to ensure more a low dynamic spring characteristic. Displacement-regulating protrusions of the elastic partition membrane are disposed to correspond to the displacement-regulating ribs thereby ensuring to suppress the generation of strange sounds.

Abstract: A fluid-filled vibration damping device includes: an elastic body connecting a first mounting member and a second mounting member; and a partition member assembled with the second mounting member to form on its opposite sides a pressure receiving chamber partially defined by the elastic body and an equilibrium chamber partially defined by a flexible layer, both being filled with non-compressible fluid. The partition member defines an orifice passage connecting the two chambers, and including a first partitioning wall portion partitioning the orifice passage from the pressure-receiving chamber, and a second partitioning wall portion of rubber partitioning the orifice passage from the equilibrium chamber. A partial reinforcing member is provided to the partition member extending across the first and second partitioning wall portions to reinforce an opening of the orifice passage to the pressure-receiving chamber.

Abstract: A fluid-filled vibration-damping device including an elastic body elastically connecting a first and a second mounting member, a pressure-receiving chamber disposed inward of and partially defined by the elastic body, and a flexible rubber layer disposed outwardly of and cooperating with the elastic body to form an equilibrium chamber held in fluid communication with the pressure-receiving chamber through a first orifice passage. The first mounting member includes an elastic-body central member and a rubber-layer central member, which are fixed together at their abutting surfaces by a fixing mechanism, to constitute the first mounting member, and positioned relative to each other by an engagement of a fitting recess and projection formed on their abutting surfaces. A peripheral portion of an interface between the abutting surfaces of the elastic-body central member and said rubber-layer central member entirely faces the equilibrium chamber and/or the pressure-receiving chamber.

Abstract: A vibration damping actuator including: a guide hole open onto a bottom face of a housing; a lid metal plate fitted into the opening of the guide hole with a size enough to hinder inward displacement thereof into the guide hole by an annular shoulder portion; an engaging groove disposed on an inner circumferential surface of the opening; a snap ring of C-letter shape fitted into the engaging groove to prevent the lid metal plate from becoming dislodged from the opening; and a sealing rubber layer formed covering an inside face of the lid metal plate. The lid metal plate is pressed by the snap ring so that the sealing rubber layer is pushed against the annular shoulder portion, thereby sealing the opening of the guide hole.

Abstract: An orifice device is adapted to be disposed within a fluid chambers of a vibration absorption device. The fluid chamber is defined by at least a wall portion made of resilient material. The orifice device includes an orifice casing, a retaining cover and a membrane that is made of resilient material, such as rubber. The membrane is adapted to be clamped between the orifice casing and the retaining cover. A lock mechanism serves to lock the orifice casing and the retaining cover together when the orifice casing and the retaining cover rotate relative to each other about an axis while the orifice casing and the retaining cover are overlapped with each other.

Abstract: An engine mount mounts a motive power source to a vehicle body. The engine mount includes an inner cylindrical member attached to the motive power source, and a resinous bracket attached to the vehicle body. The inner cylindrical member is elastically connected to the bracket. The bracket includes a cold shut portion and a weak portion provided at the cold shut portion. The cold shut portion is formed when the bracket is molded from molten resin. The weak portion has such a small strength that, when the vehicle body collides with some object, the bracket is fractured to absorb the collision.

  • Patent number: 6916016
Abstract: Disclosed is a fluid-filled vibration-damping device and a method of manufacturing the same, wherein an elastic body connecting a first and second mounting members partially defines a fluid-filled zone filled with non-compressible fluid, and a sealing part of the fluid-filled zone is formed by forcedly fitting an annular fixing projection formed on one of an inner circumferential surface of a first sealing member or an outer circumferential surface of a second mounting member into an annular fixing recess formed onto the other. Drain passages are formed at an interface between the annular fixing recess and projection to expose a floor of the annular fixing recess to an outside. Compressed air is blown into one of the drain passages so as to blow away or forcedly discharge the non-compressible fluid remained on the floor of the annular fixing recess to the outside through another drain passage.

Abstract: A fluid-sealed anti-vibration device is provided, in which a cone-shaped mounting section provided with an elastic body section which generates membrane resonance, and a cylindrical bushing section provided with an end wall and an elastic partition wall which also generate membrane resonance are integrally provided. When the fluid is filled and sealed in the cone-shaped mounting section and the cylindrical bushing section, the characteristics where a fluid is sealed in only the cone-shaped mounting section and the characteristics where the fluid is sealed in only the cylindrical busing section are coupled. Furthermore, the dynamic spring peaks and the dynamic spring bottoms, which are generated one by one in both sections, cancel each other. As a result, it is possible to realize the low dynamic spring effect in a wider frequency range by lowering the dynamic spring peak.
